One of things we COULD do is force the chain to only accept blocks from Give* addresses -- which raises the bar on a pool address hopping -- we could also add in rule that prevents the same addr from securing more than 3 blocks in a row.

The option to keep from the same node collection of more than a certain amount of blocks would be a +  Cool

You have it right -- but you're competing now against hundreds of other wallets for the TXFEE rewards -- when more transactions start hitting the chain there will be more opportunities.

Our version of "air drop" is likely one of the most reasonable and "equitable" (I don't like the word "fair")

   Thanks Duke,

I'm not very educated in wording, but equitable does sound more of an understandable term that anyone in the world could understand. Hope you don't mind me using that instead of fair in a recent post, as I donate & don't want to confuse anyone with words.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Language is a shared thing -- the words were never mine, it was just my turn to use them ;-)

I don't like the word "fair" most of the time and ways it's used -- it's often manipulative or loaded as in :

"You have to pay your FAIR share of taxes...."

What does that even mean??

EQUITABLE -- let's talk about that...

My understanding may differ from others, but we all define words in certain ways & knowledge can be the key to many things.

Hey I heard back from blockexperts that they have the "orphan" block problem fixed that was showing wrong balances in the Richlist:

https://www.blockexperts.com/2give#

When you get a chance can you hit the blockexplorer and confirm that they got it right this time?

As an aside, I'm really kind of amazed that we're the first one to point this stuff out to them :p

I think it just means that we might be more "expert" on the block stuff than them ;-)

I am glad to join 2GIVE thread with the PMP swap that is being offered. This coin brings some nice ideas that other coins struggled to implement, e.g., wallet mining, and thus I will be really interested to help it succeed. Just turned my wallet to compete for the PoW blocks.

Proof of Stake is good

Soon we will have "Proof of Stakeholder" in our community (aka "Get Confirmed") -- that will show member status based on being a stakeholder or not -- and what level.

We think it will be an "anti-troll" mechanism ;-)

See: http://bit.ly/2GiveCoin

Quick answer is Strength in Numbers Foundation (SNF) does, and we're using it expand the economy by swapping select other ALTS and making grants of coins to non-profits and pro-social causes.

All you really have to do is watch the "Rich List" on the Block Explorer since all the SNF addresses begin with "GiveCoin*"

The really interesting address however is the original Bittrex swap account:

https://www.blockexperts.com/2give/address/GiveZtUHw9XeUg3NVLiaGMXyJF5rKjBbLH

Originally funded to 272M coins which represented the GIVE 1.0 active base -- ~78M belonging to SNF acquired through open market transactions.

This is the more interesting address to watch, in my opinion since this is one data point for "float" -- when people do the right thing and get their coins OUT of the exchange and into their wallets we'll have a safer network of stakeholders -- and lower concentration of coins in the exchange which should lead to better price support.

Must be a bug in the display because clearly the block doesn't show that kind of fee...

https://www.blockexperts.com/2give/height/2012

I'll take a look later today!  Thanks for bringing it to my attention.  You'll get a bug bounty reward for this!!

In the next week we'll be expanding the 2Give.Info website with a login panel for stakeholders and a bug tracker system in addition to our own SMF message board system that we want to link to the chain for both "status" and "tipping/voting"

Thank you for keeping an eagle on 2GIVE and helping to make it great!

I have done NOTHING with the control-panel from the original coinbase so you're on your own there...

Can't tell if you had selected any inputs or not?

!! Tread at your own risk !!

In fact it's something that I had considered disabling since there is really no reason to allow people to tinker with how and where transactions flow in 2GIVE

I think I will for the production binaries and make it a compile time option for the source code.

This looks like a case where you had both a SEND and a BLOCK reward -- so it may be confused about which side of the transaction it should be displaying.

Can you confirm that's the case?   That you did a normal send AND your wallet won the block reward?

Thanks !!

No, tx reward belong to POW miner, not mine.

So should this be displayed as a SEND or as a REWARD?

Trying to figure out why your overview is confused -- what does it look like in the Transactions page?

-dvd

PS:  your send icon is not the same as production wallets -- we changed that icon to be the hand dropping coins on a send and receiving coins on gets...
