code: Hi VeritasSapere When pointing to a path, make sure the directory you are referencing actually exists. You'll have to manually make the directory and assure that the user under which you are executing Shadow has read, write and execute rights to the directory
I did do that and it still puts it in the standard directory. I open the terminal from the folder that shadow is located, I then give this command "./shadow -datadir=/home/***/***/***". If you see anything wrong with this please let me know. I figured using a different directory would increase the security a bit, but I suppose I will just use the standard directory since I am unable to get this to work, this same method did work for other wallets. Thank you for your help however, it is not that big of a deal to get this working in this way, though I figured I am doing everything right unless I have missed something obvious here. If I put in the wrong directory it does say that the directory does not exist, when configured correctly it still puts the data into the standard directory, this is with the latest version of Shadow. It's noted and will be looked at! Could you check the debug log for any errors? If there is an issue we can find, then we'll try to patch it in the next release!

code: Yes.
Possible but no reason why we should do that. Our in-house wallet supports lite mode, so no point.
Did not know that. Will try it out. So, the lite version enables all features (send, receive, tor, generation of stealth addresses, shadowsend, etc) except of staking? I tries lite version. It`s not user friendly because needs some manual interventions from the side of the user. Have you tried to fork BTC Electrum wallet for SDC? Are there plans in this field? No, we need to focus on having good full nodes before doing more work on lite mode. There has been an effort for porting electrum but we'd rather have our own lite mode version. I'd think the market would obviate that, being market users will already have a wallet running, right? The other major class of users would be the big holders who already have staking nodes and always will. If they're not going to use the market and not going to stake coins, who would want an Electrum-type wallet? My thoughts exactly. Most people will be using it for the market, thus electrum wouldn't come in handy.

Automatic Monkey: ...who would want an Electrum-type wallet?
Who? Crypto newbies!
But I agree with Kewde that full nodes are priority and if SDC wallet installer is released there would be no need of SDC Electrum wallet.

Yes the skill level to use crypto needs to be brought down, across the board. Something super-simple for the Windows world, like a .msi Anybody here have a grandmother who smokes stuff? When she can order her stuff on the market, Shadow will be ready for prime time!

It would be really nice to have a working Android/mobile wallet... ShadowGo never worked for me, and even if it did, it seemed pretty clunky.

code: Coinomi will be back soon! Our server is currently down but it will be fixed soon As for our own mobile wallet, it is not a priority but GUI 2.0 is designed with mobile usage in the back of our minds.

I believe a mobile wallet of our own should be a priority. Although for Bitcoin I use Mycelium Android wallet about 10 times for every time I use the main wallet. Mobile use at least for me is far more important. I agree it may not be a priority until SDC has a larger infrastructure, because at this point I have no interest in spending or selling any coins. But a mobile wallet will be required for growth. Coinomi never appealed to me, but maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance.

A lite phone wallet with coin storing/spending only wouldn't be much better than Coinomi, but one that could handle the market off the SD card and even stake would be a hoot. The thing I don't like about Coinomi is lack of key control. My Mycelium BTC address is backed up on my desktop wallet, so if I lose my phone I can get my BTC the hell off it as soon as I get home without having to get another phone.

Yeah repaired, bounty paid, and it caused some transactions to get deringed but stealth addresses were still in tact.

If you own SDC (transparent form) which apparently is usually the case, you would not have been affected at all. If you owned Shadow (obfuscated form) you should consider the privacy that was supposed to have been provided by Shadow to be destroyed and you should move the coins several times using the new (presumably fixed) version if you want any sort of privacy there. I know SDC supporters like to say that the exploit didn't matter because it still had stealth addresses, but that is pretty much wrong. The method depends on having both untracability and unlinkability for privacy; just one or the other is very ineffective. That's why coins that just use stealth addresses with no method of untraceabilty are not considered a viable solution to blockchain privacy. EDIT: typo, add not above

But it's all fixed now and the since the market isn't even out really nobody cares...we seriously don't..because it's fixed..and since you don't hold sdc you should most definitely not care.

code: A lot of people are just holding the coin in SDT (SDC->SDT untouched). But if if you've received a transaction (SDT->anything) then we suggest that you run it through a new transaction as Smooth has said.

Yeah repaired, bounty paid, and it caused some transactions to get deringed but stealth addresses were still in tact. Except of stealth addresses Tor was also protecting SDC users during this period, wasn`t it? SDC wallet has uses Tor right?
