What website is that? Why does it leave out cardano neo stellar ripple and eos?

I was just looking at that and we're 12 with 'all' coins in.   A less than 10% leg up and Monero is above Dash and Iota into the top ten.  That would be enough to make me smile - and it's entirely plausible and not even a USD ATH for XMR.

Any serious move of even a quarter of Johnny Mnemonic's predicted rise and....    Smiley

What are some proposed solutions to the "Fork attack"?

I've been paying close attention to this but haven't really seen any proposals on how to fix Ring Signatures so they aren't susceptible to the partial deanonymization that can occur with forks of Monero.

Has anyone proposed solutions?

MoneroV is going to be an issue, but we should prepare and fix this issue before many forks come onto existence.

The thing is, it is only a real threat if the fork becomes widely used.  So it's not a threat, more of an annoyance.

I am more interested in actual usage / transaction statistics - does anyone have any numbers, or better yet, how is xmr adoption in the dark/grey areas of the interwebs coming along?

There's this from Monero.How

That is impressive.  I haven't looked at that stat for a while.  Outpacing bitcoin in price growth and usage  makes it a little harder to ignore  Smiley

I think the mobile apps have really upped the rate of usage, being so much easier.

Why are you smile? Is it just above dash and iota?
I will be supporting it become more higher price and maybe can be etherium and bitcoin competitor.

Looks like it may get on Cryptsy first

Looks like a bought or hacked account Plagiarist farming... Reported.

I would love to see XMR added to BTC-e.

Looks like it may get on Cryptsy first

It's been up for vote for almost a day and it is up to 4th with 8561 as of this moment.

So anyway nice to see above .028 again. Smiley
Just in time for me to get a little m0ar. I gotta stop this but high shit. Cheesy

monero is very durable. even in this environment did not fall. like a safe harbor. we need to keep it in the portfolio a little.

Anyone have any predictions when could this happen?   He added lots of things to do next:

"After that it will be time to think to integrate more features, in that order:
Proof of send
Proof of reserve
LightWallet
MultiSig"

But I am not sure if that will be in first release or added latteron.

Is anyone else concerned with the quality of his code?

I hope he pays more attention to his C++ than he does to his English. It’s a second language for me as well, but still. Just shows a lack of effort and general sloppiness. The difference between a push and a pull request shouldn’t be that hard to master either, especially for a programmer.

Personally, I’ll wait for the open source HW wallet.

2True, Every time I've gotten boned has been because of BTC/USD. Smiley

Trying to increase my XMR by leveraging USD/BTC has been when XMR spikes or I have issues with coins in limbo and stand there watching everyone else profit. Lol

THis could be huge if proven:
https://github.com/fireice-uk/cryptonote-speedup-demo

Quote
* Even faster x5 - x10 EC crypto based on new features in Broadwell+ and Ryzen CPUs
* 1 + Bulletproofs + 5 to enable truly anonymous ring signatures (sizes 100+), instead of plausible deniability (size 5)
* Cryptonote blockchain compression, down into below 1 GB sizes for Monero
* Combination of 1 and 3 and a specially tuned server to create Electrum-like wallets.
* Proper mathematical solution to Attack III described in here.
* Tracking of Monero using Attack III (their fix is fairly sub-par especially if some assumptions can be made about the wallet) and graph analysis.

And also solve the moneroV issue in one shot...
Let's see what the rest of the core team says.

This looks really interesting. Thanks for the share.

It should be noted that the idea with ring size 5 is not plausible deniability on any particular transaction but that when coupled with confidential transactions and stealth addresses the cumulative result is an entire network that is entirely private. Of course more is always better.

Monero and other robust projects have been a buying opportunity these days. Because some declines are really an opportunity. I like it that way. Monero is one of the projects that can be invested in long walks.

fireice-uk is not, how shall we say, very well regarded amongst many of the developers, afaik. I'd be surprised if anything came of this claim.

My thoughts exactly. He's something of a shit-stirrer, to say the least.

Edit: He's clearly a very competent developer though he's in for himself, not for the greater good. In and of itself, here's nothing wrong with that, but what annoys me is that he uses an open-sourced community (Monero) to enrich himself through his mining software without giving anything back.

Why would language barriers have anything to do with code? I've known people who can code like a mofo but suck at english.

You’re probably right and I should remove my tin foil hat. Granted, bankers usually have perfect grammar so that has not been an indicator of honesty, competency or good intentions.
