It shouldn't be hard to have a distributed copy of the sheet. A maintained mirror as such. It would be up to individuals to maintain the up-datedness of the sheets and should a concern arise the sheets can be refereed to as distributed historical proof to assist in resolving a dispute.

A historical reference of the sheets could be stored and as the TT group becomes larger resources pooled (financial or otherwise) to move to a more robust system. I'd think a CMS with user and revision tracking could be very useful in maintaining up to date and secure details for tracking trades and TT behaviour. This would be useful as an alternative to or an addition to any block chain technology in use.

Centralisation is not always about people, and can occur technically (HDD's and backups are a great example). A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.

DVC trading and the Trade Tracker:

With balances working correctly, the next thing to implement is 'DVC overspend protection', where the spreadsheet stops you from listing or accepting trades where your DVC balance is (or would be) below zero as a result of the trade. I must sleep now but this will happen over the next few days while DVC trading is still frozen. With that done, the Trade Tracker should be ready to shoulder DVC trading off the blockchain if that's what we decide to do.

The Trade Tracker is now automatically maintaining a ledger of our individual DVC holdings, so you can now check all Trusted Traders' DVC holdings at any time by clicking on the Members tab. The 'DVC Held' column will automatically update when a trade involving DVC is marked 'Complete'. Even if DVC is administered and traded on a blockchain (any blockchain), as long as all trades involving DVC continue to happen on the Un-Ex, the ledger will remain up to date, automatically and transparently. Work continues!

Food for Thought: Ian and I see a sort of 'shake down' goin' on. That is, commercial adoption -- both Big Tech Startups and small-business crypto acceptance -- is booming; but the unwelcoming atmosphere of the crypto realm (with Uno and Doge as two most honourable exceptions) has served us poorly.

So now is the time to strive for what I have been nagging about: turn from the screens; contact a few people in the non-Net world; and set them up to use cryptos.
