What do you mean by "after a set time coins on the old chain cant be converted to the new one"? I thought the conversion period was indefinite?

He just means any coins mined on the SYS1 chain AFTER the snapshot cannot be imported into SYS2. It'll be extremely simple to convert your SYS1 and no time limit for those who hold as of the time we take the blockchain UTXO snapshot.

I finally managed to sync the wallet, but when I replace "wallet.dat" with my old wallet, qt doesn't load and stucks at the first popup window.
I'm using windows7 64 bit

I also tried the "syscoin-qt.exe -salvagewallet" startup option but then it stop syncing (my balance is displayed correctly).

How can I check about that switch you mention? Also any other idea would be helpful.

UPDATE: somehow my coins ended up here https://chainz.cryptoid.info/sys/tx.dws?3142.htm but it says not yet redeemed.

EDIT: Now after the 2nd "salvagewallet" attempt it is currently syncing.. let's see whether it will fully sync or crash.

Not yet, we need to first run our preliminary Alpha testing (internal testing), then we will release the beta test where people will be able to test our Marketplace via a testnet. Once that passes, we will set an exact block for the fork to take place. It is imperative that testing happens prior to this hard-fork as we want this to be a flawless launch, setting a date prior to this testing would not be wise.

If you can load with salvage try to get your priv key with dumpprivkey on your address you used to get your coins in your wallet.. then do importprivkey on a new fresh wallet once synced up so you see your coins again

It says "not yet redeemed" because the coins have not yet been used. If you click on the link, you should get this wallet: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/sys/address.dws?SZYJMbRVXLtfNKMDudgZuVvFV9cJsRbcfU.htm which shows it holds the coins.

Using a fresh copy of your wallet.dat, are you syncing and seeing the 236,557.14388172 balance?
