PAYMENT OPTIONS shows that nobody needs SYScoin to buy/sell on platform
I think the no need for Sys to buy on the platform was intentional....part of the appeal, ease of use... I was thinking yesterday about the market and my hope is that sys is required to sell or a new user gets X amount of sales before they are required to own Sys to use market(maybe a certain amount is automatically tied up like with staking on the wallet while you have active sales. In this scenario the more popular the market place the scarcer the Sys causing the value to always be high. Certainly moves the decimal a couple places long term.

You need an alias which costs sys and each sale takes a sys fee which is small..also escrow and reselling require sys payments

Has a guide been published yet re how to upgrade the wallet? Link? Thanks sounds like few options: 1) upload sys to exchanges for swap or 2) import private key into sys2 wallet or 3) sounds like just dropping the wallet.dat from sys1 into the sys2 folder will work as well. all 3 are valid #3 is definitely the preferred option and what will be outlined on the blog post released tomorrow w instructions on how to convert. You must use #3 to ensure all change addresses properly move to the new wallet. Again- this will be covered in instructions posted tomorrow. Instructions will cover Windows, Mac, and Linux. Thanks

This is an interesting read; http://ir.net/news/stock-news/123744/should-amazon-com-inc-amzn-worry-about-upcoming-bitcoin-marketplace-openbazaar/Since Syscoin is better than Openbazaar and Openbazaar is considered better than Amazon.com and the latter is currently valued at 286 billion dollars, it seems like the potential gains for Syscoin holders are very huge. So what is the attitude of Syscoin vis-a-vis platforms like Amazon and E-Bay? Are they competitors, are they going to cooperate with each other in the future? Have steps already been taken to hook up with the current market leaders?

I think technologies like OpenBazaar and Syscoin can definitely give Amazon and Ebay competition. I anxiously await real alternatives to both of those platforms.

The clock countdown pointed to the time where the snapshot of SYS1 was taken. There was a 24h time period planned for the exchages to do the conversion. So the countdown would have pointed to the time when trading stops. POLO decided not to stop trading and just disable deposit/withdraw. If you think about it, that is possible cause 1 SYS1 = 1 SYS2. Now all exchanges need to confirm and then the wallet gets released, if i understood it right. with kind regards, randywald

For all confused people - that was the official blog post: http://syscoin.org/countdown-to-launch/Syscoin 2.0 will launch Saturday, April 30th 2016 at 10:00am US/PST. An official countdown clock can be found here. The plan will be to have exchanges freeze SYS trading starting at that time for 24hrs. Any coins mined, sent, or received after the block height at this time will not be valid on Syscoin 2.0. Within hours of trading being stopped exchanges will receive the new 2.0 client. Once exchanges have confirmed all balances are correct we will release the client to the public. Exchanges are free to resume trading anytime thereafter although we’re suggesting a 24hr freeze to be fair to everyone in Syscoin’s global economy before trading resumes.
Prior to releasing the Syscoin 2.0 client we will publish a blog post and video explaining how to convert your Syscoin to 2.0 and the team will be on Slack to answer any questions users may have in regards to the process. After trading resumes we’ll be working to help merchants get their items listed in the days following, some of whom are part of our early adopter incentive program. "Exchanges are free to resume trading anytime thereafter although we’re suggesting a 24hr freeze to be fair to everyone in Syscoin’s global economy before trading resumes." So if the exchanges just keep trading, it is also OK, cause it is their own decision. Nevertheless i would have preffered it if trading stopped. But OK .

Official Syscoin 2.0 Launch UpdateQuick update before signing off for the night. The team has been working on the migration all day and while there were a few minor changes needed to make the process smoother for exchanges things have proceeded exactly as planned. We're still waiting for some major exchanges to complete the conversion and communicate to us all balances are satisfactory. While some have already done this we've asked them to wait until at least the other major exchange has confirmed before reopen withdrawal/deposit to be fair to all traders on both platforms. We're still operating within the 24hr timeframe we communicated, and we'll be releasing the full launch announcement along with some other materials tomorrow morning (US/PST). This way the team can be online to answer questions that may come up related to using Syscoin 2.0 features or general questions about the conversion process. Looking forward to sharing more in just a few hours!
