Mistery solved :

Quote
Details We have an electrical problem in one of the racks of the network (T02E22).

Diagnosis is in progress.

http://status.ovh.net/?do=details&id=8532
Not really; that problem started the 16th so unlikely to be the reason for ltcgear going down today.

EDIT: The incident ip range 167.114.102.0/24 is very close to the ltcgear.com ip address 167.114.102.178 but I'm not very versed in ip ranges etc so I don't know how close physically this would be.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

"Just an FYI for everyone I did get an email. It basically said little of nothing with the exception of he is going to be posting relevant information on the website but it is not ready yet (I assume he means not ready as in the stuff he is working on). And no he did not give a time frame."

May be in March we will have LTCGear. Cheesy

Looks like he changed hosting companies again. Doesn't make sense if trying to run. Maybe something will eventually come out of all this, but I am not keeping my hopes up.

There is as much proof that he is taking off as there is that he is actually at this very moment working. So other than wait we can't do much.

this is not how it will help.
looks like - hacker buying server where Chris buy it. - and in this way avoids external protection and for ddos is the best way i think. Maybe will better place home server and build protection manually

looks like this is only a text widget (pure html) on wordpress.  nothing programmatically done yet.

Code:
<div class="widget widget_text" id="text-3">

this was the original site IP (before it changed hosts) - but don't login till chris confirms or he point dns to this ip again.

My account has the coin withdraw feature.

have you withdrawn them?

That's most probably a testversion, but there is movement instead of just blank waiting Wink

Ow, I was really delighted when I saw that. Sure it's just a mock-up and all, but why would
he do something like that if he was sitting on a beach with our money (as some were saying).
