There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

I'm going to stay in that topic for future updates  Roll Eyes
Some of my NXT Asset payments depend on the LTCGear payments, so I want to keep informed of everything that happens.

The site is now hosted at OVH. At first I thought this is awesome news,
as this is a serious company which for sure verifies and keeps record of the identities of
its clients. (I'm not so sure anymore as hosting is a terribly intransparent business and there are
probably resellers with less strict policies.)

Still it gives me some confidence that everything will return to normal next week.
Yes, it gives me some confidence too. Good news if they're using a serious service.

Chris sure seems to be making attempts and putting in work to get ltcgear back to its former glory. At first I thought he was just going to scam us but not I am not so sure. He might have actually suffered from a hack. I mean why go through all this trouble redoing the website putting up support forms etc if your going to just scam people (like PBmining said Ill "try" my best with no results thusfar compared to Chris)

I agree but many people who bought shares with Paypal are likely contemplating filing charge backs in the next week or two if nothing changes with the payments (regardless of the final outcome of LTCgear).

How did someone buy with PayPal. PayPal was only accepted for hardware purchases back in the beginning. LTC Gear website only accepts bitcoin, litecoin, etc. PayPal logo is a remnant of days past.

I don't think that's true. I read from several people who paid with paypal for shares a couple of weeks ago (for example, one
guy in this thread, just check 20-30 30-80 pages before. I don't have the time right now..). Chris enabled paypal upon request for
individual sales. He made some explanations on ltctalk, the reason why he had to enable it manually was that there was a strict
limit on how much $'s he can accept each month.
