With a U3 and an S3, I have yet to see a share over 970M....

I see 1-20M semi-often... so I am just waiting for my luck to come around =)

On a solo pool share count is cosmetic.  You want a best share equal to or greater than current difficulty.

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
A: Top-posting.
Q: What is the most annoying thing on usenet and in e-mail?

Yeah, shares and best share simply show how your hardware is running.
Getting a 2,000,000,000 diff share has no effect on when you might get a necessary (current) 62,253,982,449.760818+ diff share

Quick question,

My miner is set to my wallet address not including the .0 or .anything at the end

If I add another worker with the same wallet address and a .0 or .1 at the end.  is this ok?

Thanks

They can be with or without a worker name, and multiple miners to the same (with or without) worker name simply adds to the numbers shown for the worker

Just x is good for the password, the pool will automatically adjust the diff Smiley.

The only reason I can tell for adding worker names is that, in the event you hit a block, you can track down which of your machines solved it.  Of course you could also look at the miner status directly and figure it out, but if you have several machines the worker name makes it much easier.

Are there other reasons for worker names besides this?

Worker names would also help identify a problem miner/s easier, by keeping track of hash rate separately.

I am seeing lower "bestshare" for the past few days.  Seems like no matter how much hash I throw at it (~2PH) I cant get a best share over 900 million...   even while blocks are being solved every minute.

Have you guys noticed its seems fairly common to hit 2 blocks close together or consecutive?  is that truly random?

how long are you running at 2ph? Just minutes or hours?

I run at that speed only a few minutes, like 20 to 30 mins.  I hit both my blocks within the first few minutes of beginning mining.   If I dont hit it within an hour, I stop and try again the next day.   If you're hot you'll hit it.  If you're not, mining all day wont help.   So, if you hit a block, keep mining - you might get a second one.

Its the same principals in gambling.  Randomness hits in streaks.  Even when flipping a coin many times you will see streaks of one side then the other.  Like in Vegas, I cant tell you how many times I've seen the roulette board all black or all red.

Just my observations...
