hi,

ive set up my S3 on a "balance" between your de.solo pool and another regular pool. Im just checking to see if the "diff" stat on my miner is meant to read 1000 as the other pool is 256.

By the way im new to mining so please excuse me if this is a stupid question  Smiley
Diff starts at 1000 on this pool so that's normal. It will change over time though to suit your hashrate.

As mentioned here I'm taking down the SG node now. Apologies to the remaining 1.5TH mining there.

SG Node has been removed. There will be a brief blip at both the DE and main solo pools for updates.

Updates all complete. Mine on.

There's some kind of connectivity issue at solo main at the moment (DDoS?). Looking into it...  De is unaffected.

EDIT: Seems to have recovered now. Hashrate climbing again.

DDoS on the front end again. Those of you already mining won't be affected. Will redirect the front end shortly.
DDoS redirected. New gateway is up. Keep on mining.

Hi,

I am trying solo mining for the first time, using a Bitmain USB, but it looks like it is not working; I do not get the lines like "[2016-01-20 00:48:35] Accepted 0071abfc ICA 0  Diff 576/64" (or similar) that I am used to see in other pools. Am I mining or not? If not; what changes should I do?

Best regards,
BitKE

This is what I get from cgminer:

 cgminer version 3.8.5 - Started: [2016-01-20 00:31:54]

Connected to de.ckpool.org diff 1K with stratum as user 1PgMmXoUFf4KvvZYedhU9n3

 Block: 4ceb97b5...  Diff:113G  Started: [00:51:11]  Best share: 462

You're mining at diff 1000 and your best share is 462. That's all. You haven't found a single share high enough. You can either wait and slowly the pool will see some shares from you and lower your diff, or upgrade to the current official cgminer and use --suggest-diff to choose a diff for yourself - but either way it makes absolutely no difference here as diff and shares are of cosmetic value only when solo mining.

I'm solo mining as well (on de.ckpool.org) and just by reading this I wondered, would it make sense to choose a high diff when solo mining to reduce the server load?

Thanks for thinking of my servers, but they're mostly bored out of their brains. They could easily handle 100x as much hashrate...

Ok. But if that ever changes I don't mind having the diff set skyhigh by the server by default. After all only huge numbers count when solo mining Wink

And thanks for providing the solo-servers.

It would be nice if there was a suggestdiff == currentdiff, so there's almost no communication whatsoever hehehe....
