What was doing this dude with Opal?

From what i remember, money laundering/drugs.The article was from some foreign newspaper i'll try to find it somewhere.

Look what i found on reddit:

https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/7q5zfg/verge_stealing_code_from_opalcoin/

Figured it would be a good time to tweet.  I don't consider it stealing, but sharing. This is why we are in crypto. If we didn't want people to share, we would be closed source. Just have to give credit where it is due.

I see that you were non-active for a long time and you have picked up your project, and promoting other coins like deeponion to get 4% of your coins with the airdrop. hmm...

anyway, what my concerns are --> what are your plans with this coin and how do you want to let this coin grow?

I created a discord server if anyone is interested in chatting about OPAL. We are looking for a dev, and possibly more.

Thanks all.

Current plans. Look for a developer. Update wallet to make sure it compiles well on modern systems. Then move on from there.

Is the project abandoned by the developer? The project has been developed for several years, and it can not get the color, and the heat is not.

what do you mean bro? i think this project is stable right now .
Is this project stable? Who is behind OPAL at the moment? What are the real ambitions and where can we get there? I was thinking of buying some coins because prices are low, but I wonder where I'm treading! Are there communication channels?

Current plans. Look for a developer. Update wallet to make sure it compiles well on modern systems. Then move on from there.
Are you a dev? I'll be watching this, how many people does the OPAL team currently have? I'll get into the discord channel. Wink

This is good news OpalTeam, and for this reason will buy some more coins. Holding my OPALs since summer 2017.

When you don't know when the block market will recover, will the price continue to fall down? At this time to buy OPAL suitable, you do not prevent all to talk about their views. But I am full of confidence in the future of the District, but it is only a matter of time.

I used to have over 100000 opal on that exchange with the Big Vern scam.   It was a long time ago.  I liked the coin.  I would be interested where it could end up.  I will join that discord channel.  Thanks.

In my opinion this is just a speculative coin, as there is no development undergoing, neither a team or a core dev to work on it.

I am trying to improve the codebase by stripping to core and then moving to an upgraded one, you can check my progress in Discord.
Also, I made some compilation changes so it compiles with newest libboost

I changed the repository to OpaLite

https://github.com/hclivess/OpaLite

However, I am experiencing some difficulties with the networking protocol compatibility and could use help from a seasoned altcoin developer.

I successfully reconstructed genesis block after upgrading the hashing algo in HyperStake, which is the codebase I chose to use, I also changed the address prefix and the pchMessageStart. However, when I start the node and add peers, it crashes on

Code:

As soon as you add peers it crashes right? I think it is a peer error. Is this a Testnet? I noticed Class C IP Addresses. Also check the Clocks are up to date. I sold all my Opal long ago. Good Luck reviving!

No, that's not me. I saw some problems with staking before I sold off. Not sure if these problems are affecting your new work.

I would stake for a day and then the stakes would stop even though I was good weight and should have had a few stakes for sure. Then I would resync a week later. There would be items in the TX with Question marks next to them, seemed like I was staking but not getting the coin. It was the only reason I sold. Couldn't stake...

staking is ok here, I was talking about adapting the codebase
those question marks are orphans afaik

When I've been mining, I typically get my shares within a few hours, but I was throwing a fair amount of rental hash at it.
