This seems to be one of the few projects out there not where the dev isn't doing this for personal gain, and even if they were, the good this project does by making actual contributions to research offsets any of that in the grand scheme of things.

Nice one.  Smiley

Thanks for the kind words! We're not taking anything off the top, although by being in the early payouts when only a few addresses were in there, we got pretty good early holding/positions in the token.

I got into this because I got real interested in the crypto space this spring, found "Lets Talk Bitcoin!", and really enjoyed reading about all the new projects - there's some fascinating ideas out there. I wanted to get in on the "ground floor" of something, and in July when Robert posted the initial FoldingCoin project description, I was hooked.

So yes, just doing this on free time but if it ever became self supporting that would be awesome. Right now our main goal is to help Stanford get to one million computers on their folding network. Above all it's Mining for Medicne!

yeah, its not the best exchange out there. Its just the first one we are on. We are trying very hard to get on more exchanges but many of them are not familiar with Counterparty or dont have it implemented

We are looking for skilled people to help advance FoldingCoin. We would pay you in FLDC. FLDC payments will be negotiated in the initial skype interview that Robert and James will conduct with you based on your skill and interest. We need to fill the following roles:

  • FAH Specialists
    • One or more folders who have been folding for at least 1-3 years and know FAH well enough to be able to help with new folder questions and help resolve issues relating to the FAH client and configuration.
  • Forum Advocates
    • One or more folders that are knowledgeable about FAH and FLDC to maintain and respond to forums. Any questions that cannot be answered should be referred to the main development team. Great forum ratings on your username are a plus.
  • Search Engine Optimization
    • Somebody with experience in web design and SEO. This would free the main developers to concentrate on other things.
  • Meetup advocates/point of contacts
    • We are reaching out to Meetup groups around the world advocating the use of FLDC as the Meetup currency. We need designated Meetup specialists who are familiar with how Meetups work to follow up on responses. Also schedule Skype meetings with you, the devs, and the Meetups. You should CC the dev team with all your Meetup conversations.

You can and it should go back to core17, but i wouldnt for now. Just because they are still moving to the new assignment server and i think some old WU are still getting distributed to much. Now i need to point out, that since this server issue has happened, core 15 and 16 are becoming more frequent, but before the server issue core 15 and 16 are still to be distributed, just not nearly as much.

I have been paying attention to my setup and I havent had many core 15 or 16 come up but they still do, and thats why every team has a lower credit margin right now.

Any report on why the credits are so low right now, FAH only has on their website a report of the new AS being deployed

They are configuring the new AS to give out core 17 at a much higher rate. I cannot speak for them an a time frame, but it shouldnt be that long, and when they are done, you should see ALOT of core 17

It can be risky from point of view, sometimes WU fail or deliver less points during beta testing and you wouldn't receive any help in the main support forum if not member of beta tester group.

Better set client type on advanced.

Oh, and linux as OS with client v7 also don't get any core 15 or 16 ;-)

and foldingcoin is smart in a way. using counterparty which is 'ridding' on the most secure blockchain in existence ...

nV and Ubuntu is what I have running with two GTX 780, happy camper. Would be more happy with two GTX 980  Grin

I don't follow AMD news too much but I think they meanwhile also run under linux for folding; others might can confirm.

Thanks for joinging to all the newcomers!

I think the new server just needs a day or two to get all the new assignments worked out. I will be watching closely today and make sure that we are rising on the list again. Its wierd, because most teams have lost 30-50% production (we are sitting at 40%) but a few teams have seen a double in their credits, not many teams though. I am looking into this, but does anyone have thoughts as to why this is? I know I am still receiving A LOT of core 16 WU
