Thank You Also as an FYI to everybody, crypto-trade just sent me an email so I am in direct communication with them to help get FLDC active on their exchange. I will follow up as soon as i have more information but FLDC is still set to be tradable on that site

Its still very exciting! Also I realized everyone is not on twitter so I forgot to post here: The past 2 days the distribution server has been going through an update. Hopefuly it should be done today and the last 3 days (including today) will be paid as soon as it gets running. Thank you all for your patience.

The distribution server has about 5,000 blocks to go until it is fully updated. At that time all the funds from 12/8-12/11 Should distributed in order to all Folders. Once again we apologize for the delay but servers need upgrading once in a while Please thank the guys over at LetsTalkBitcoin! for their hard and dedicated work

Mining for Medicine looks like a good concept.
The only problem is.. we never heard anything good... They claime to use ur power for research but we never get any results. I started folding@home 1 year ago, still nothing.. I quit after a few months because it looks like 1 fake thing. If i'm wrong i'm sorry for the people behind this business, but i'm out.

i don't see how other POW algorithm is any better X11 is not useful to mankind... with this one, at least there is a chance it will be used for scientific research.
distribution is only using F@H points as POW, instead of useless algorithms

You can find a list of all the work that has been accomplished here http://folding.stanford.edu/home/papersYou trust a plumber to do the right thing in the correct manner when he comes to your house. You cant possibly know if he is doing the right thing as plumbing would not be a profession of yours. The way you can find out if he is doing the right work would possible be through word of mouth and other customer reviews. The papers that are in that link I am not going to lie to you, are way over my head. I do not fully understand what is being done, I just know the 101 version like many of you. We have talked with some other bio chemists about the work and they think its great and they approve. But unless you understand the papers in the link, it would be unfair to say that FAH isnt doing anything.... Think of them as your plumber And like the plumber, we would need to use a source comparable to "Angies list" for other people to tell us about how they do, not what they do precisely. Here https://folding.stanford.edu/home/awards/ is a list of awards that they have on their website that they have achieved from respectable organizations but the one I can recognize is found here http://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2014/11/24/nvidia-foundation-awards-400000-to-two-teams-pioneering-cancer-research/ its an award from Nvidia. Now Nvidia is up my alley, they trust that FAH is doing good work so therefor I trust their judgement. Communities relay on other peoples professions and the trust that we must put into them. As a data specialists I once told a customer not to run a data line on his own at 400 feet as signal will be dropped and data can only go 300 feet on cat 5e. I told him he needs a repeater or fiber. He didn't listen, he thought it was just like cat 3 (he was an old school pre-cat 5 phone guy) and it could go 1000 feet. Sure enough I was out there 3 weeks later installing an second cabinet for networking equipment. Moral of the story, its good to do due diligent on things you are looking to support, but trust the good sources and take their word for it.

Hashing algorithms are not involved in protein folding, and it is well known you can't use protein folding as a PoW system.

Can you elaborate please, I actually am not sure from that statement if you are against the idea of FLDC or not, but I would love to defend our case and try to show you the value of using Protein folding as a form of POW (obviously its not POW in the same manner that a traditional alt is)

Of course, folding is not used in place of hashing (i.e. for security) here except to portion out the distribution of FLDC. Well in a way hashing is done for FLDC, its just done by the BTC miners who are hashing the BTC blockchain since FLDC lives inside of BTC transactions. The folding calculations are stricktly for determining how many FLDC each folder is entitled to

Crypto Trade is still working with me and the guys at counterparty, I will report once this gets done (I would assume since the holidays are upon us that everything is going slower). As for poloniex, I would really love to get us on that exchange, however they have not been responsive. I have sent in 2 tickets about FoldingCoin getting into the vote and if i dont hear from them before the holidays, I will be sending out another request Jan 5th

Counterparty trading is good if more people will use it... decentralized exchange. but only with XCP at the moment traders/investors are usually buying in big exchanges, using BTC and LTC or others
