I really hope my link did not impacted the price, hell if I knew I will woke up and see such a dump this morning  Undecided SLR fluctuations are of a very big amplitude !!!

Don't worry about your link. It is better to have full access to information and transparency for perceived good or bad news.  Always pursue truth.  Volatility is just a function of the small size of the network and differences of opinion about value.  Value is driven by network utility # of nodes (users) driving fungibility. Price is driven by speculative opinion.  This is normal in markets. Check out value investing principles.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

In the case of SolarCoin that Duck is Free Range no strings attached and the clouds will actually block the sun balloon and burst the bubble, and where there are clouds it may rain... 98 Billion drops of rain for the leaky ceiling! Network nodes derive their worth from the utility of paying for their investment in solar with solarcoin sold to bitcoin, then the network is supposed to support itself somehow for every claimer exponentially throughout time while the bitcoin leaves the economy. Why wouldn't the buyers of the coin just use their money to buy Solar and claim instead of buying the coin? If this is the ideal behind SolarCoin the network capacity could increase but there would be inadequate liquidity.

I doubt it did. The volume impressed me. 1.5 million Solarcoin traded on Bittrex in the last few hours. I don't know to whom, but that's still impressive.

Where can you see how much SLR traded on bittrex. it seems to only show it in BTC volume.

I don't know why Bittrex doesn't make it available on the main screen, because it is available through their API.

If you go into google spreadsheet and paste:

Code:
=IMPORTDATA("https://bittrex.com/api/v1.1/public/getmarketsummary?market=btc-slr")

It'll pull all of the summary data for Solarcoin.

SolarCoin's global value is driven by network growth of participants. Open networks like SolarCoin scale and innovate extremely rapidly. The recently announced Nasdaq proof of concept may be an interesting approach for a subset of American Solar producers seeking to augment their SREC or other programs using the private markets LINQ technology.  We welcome innovation in the solar energy space and look forward to encouraging potential participants into the SolarCoin program.  SolarCoin has been granting rewards to global solar energy generators since 2014, and now uses the lowest carbon footprint open blockchain technology available.

Something weird happening in there, from a daily average of two BTC to 157 btc. I cannot even make theories on what is happening, maybe a whale accumulating some coins and getting ready to pump?

My thoughts exactly - in fact I'm almost sure that all of this is done be one guy and he is crashing the market to get the little fishes to sell and then max out his stash. Maybe he saw that link as an opportunity which can explain the "dump" and make most of the people panic...

Well he's at least 75k SLR down if that's the case.

Nice , I'm pissed I didn't have any orders in. I cancelled my buy orders at 0.00007000 like 1 day before it happened Sad.
Anyway nice buy, Im sure you wont regret it

Very interesting picture suming up quite a hard picture to understand. Should it make me more bullish of a guest lecturer of columbia's Executive MBA program is a stakeholder of solarcoin?

Can this extend to other API's importing data like that? It is a cool function.

Do other exchanges have similar API's? Yes, though all of them work differently. You can of course check any of the coins listed on bittrex with that command by substituting btc-slr for any of the other coins also, btc-eth for example.

Hi all,
We just hooked up our first Bitseed SolarCoin node running on GNU/Linux 3.4.79+ armv71.
This is part of this project hackathon.
https://www.eventbrite.com/e/chain-of-things-blockchain-iot-case-study-and-conference-tickets-24424181384?aff=es2

Today I thought it was all star trek, now the engine room is running!

Also if anyone knows how to capture JSON in google sheets (also authenticate tokens), pls PM me.
https://medium.com/@paulgambill/how-to-import-json-data-into-google-spreadsheets-in-less-than-5-minutes-a3fede1a014a#.bvo49h203

Thanks,

I have a friend that I'm trying to get setup on SolarCoin. I sent some coin to his wallet and it is showing up on the blockchain but his wallet is showing 0. I'm doing a rescan now. Is there anything else I need to do?

some of the work going on under the hood.  We are working with our teams to get better at communicating.  Keeping our heads down and working is important.  Sharing what we are up to so others can share, join and grow is also important.

Trading volume really picked up this week. Nice, this coin deserves more attention.

Still can't get staking to work though.  Sad
