...
Tes more blocks lots of blocks,BTW Macs and OSX very dependable. Also if one can could VM OSX, Xcode is not.
macs are normal intel CPUs, so VM OSX works.
It's just against the license.
I guess no Themal Nuclear legal battles in the fututre!

A new update to the android app is being tested... by me!

People with accounts will now be able to use their API key + their username on the app.

With the additional information, you can be notified when a new block is found.
I'll post here after doing some more tests Cheesy

Have you thought about providing the same app for the solo ckpool?  Since there are no users, only btc addresses to mine to, it would work for everyone.  I'd use it every day for the solo pool.

Several of my S5s are running around 20% below what they normally do when on kano.is, but they run full speed on westhash slush, is it just weird luck?

Now I am interested to see how the very large rental I did works in this case.  I peaked at a  1ph for a 3 shift rental minutes 24 hours ago.

I spent about .5 btc   Since it was only for 4 shifts  does my average stay flat.  If it is the case a huge short rental is more effective. Since you peak the average hash in under 500%.

say 150 shifts = 500%

  If I average 400th over 4 shifts

4/150 x 400th = 10th average right away? and it stays at 10th basically all the way.

I am basing all calcs on a flat pool rate.  I know if pool rate gets real high my hash average drops.

So far I am in between an average of 5-6th  as I peaked at 1ph over 4 shifts  but the 4 shift average  was 381th.

I also realize that shift count for 500% varies.

% of the 500% is 90% + 15%   so I have 395% left on my rental.  I suspect I need 3 more blocks to break even.

first payment was 0.099  waiting on the second.

Where are you renting? Sounds interesting...

nicehash tends to run better then westhash if you point at kano's pool

My guess is server location for nicehash is less latency

I'm still a bit new to the bitcoin mining community.  Wink

When you say solo ckpool do you mean when you just name your worker the BTC address to have the pool send shares to?

If that is the case the app already handles that behavior, but if you mean something else please enlighten me!

solo ckpool is -ck's solo mining pool.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=763510.0

kano.is is ckpool with my ckdb backend and web for pool payouts and management.
My workers.php and address.php spit out the same ckpool text file as ckpool generates on solo
- since they are both virtually the same ckpool - but I wrote php scripts to see the ckpool user and worker file and do certain checks on the request

Thanks Kano!

If this is the case, I could probably modify the app to work for -ck's solo pool on the next iteration. I'm still waiting for a block to be found to verify that my latest changes work as intended Smiley

MMM it works... How did I find out?

I'm actually quite happy about this app now.
Setup and forget! It will warn you if your hash rate drops below a threshold, and it will notify you if a block has been found.

Future Plans:
  • I will try to get this to function for CK's solo pool.
  • Huh

Will be updating on Google Play in the next few hours... Cause that how long Google Play takes Cheesy

Several of my S5s are running around 20% below what they normally do when on kano.is, but they run full speed on westhash slush, is it just weird luck?
Do you mean when mining here directly or when mining through proxyhash?
proxyhash adds 2 things:
1) proxy latency so you'd expect lower performance (more rejects)
2) excessive extra work restarts so again you'd expect lower performance from that also

I mean mining here directly, I have 4 S5s that have been on the pool straight 32 hours now, two of them are doing what I expect, between 1.12 and 1.13, the other two are still under a th/sec and have been since they switched back over from westhash.  None of them have moved any work units to westhash, so they aren't switching.  Reject rates are under .11%, no HW errors, stales are under .05%

This is however the first time these have been configured to run anything at westhash, I may remove that pool and see what happens after a restart.

All 8 of my SP20E boxes are mining at the rates I expect based on the power I'm giving them.

Latency is just fine from all 4:
Code:
root@antMiner:~# ping stratum.kano.is
PING stratum.kano.is (104.194.28.194): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 104.194.28.194: seq=0 ttl=58 time=36.334 ms
64 bytes from 104.194.28.194: seq=1 ttl=58 time=36.364 ms
64 bytes from 104.194.28.194: seq=2 ttl=58 time=36.002 ms
64 bytes from 104.194.28.194: seq=3 ttl=58 time=35.985 ms
64 bytes from 104.194.28.194: seq=4 ttl=58 time=36.004 ms
^C
--- stratum.kano.is ping statistics ---
5 packets transmitted, 5 packets received, 0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 35.985/36.137/36.364 ms

Maybe they just need a reboot.  Really weird.

A system reboot fixed whatever was going on, both back to 1.15TH/s average.

Nicehash.

I am renting a few hundred th right now.

Not really seeing how profit can be maximized with this rental service unless you get lucky and find a block on a solo site like solo.CK. Otherwise, it's just a money loop where the platform owner (Nicehash/Wethash) is the only one making a profit. The sellers make what they would at a decent pool and the buyers are just funneling coins trying to get lucky. If the BTC/TH/DAY price was set lower than a buyer could see a constant profit margin. Too risky for me.

Westhash had extreamly low BTC/TH/DAY price earlier today.  I got 200th at 0.0025 btc/th/day for about 2 hours.  I should have gotten a PH at that price.  Now its back up to 0.0098.
