I'm running: Bitcoin Core version v0.14.1.0-g964a185 (64-bit); 8-core (real ones) CPU, 32GB RAM, etc. 100Mb/s connection, no data caps. Maybe that's it. Of course, another factor may be that I'm on the same cable/fiberoptic backbone as the US Navy's Pacific Missile Range Facility a mile or two down the road. We've got bandwidth up the wazoo.  The number is what shows up when you hover over the "Network connections" icon in the lower right corner. I take the meaning at its face value. It takes a day or two for it to reach its max, usually, after a Core restart or Internet outage. I also, of course, have the appropriate port open on the router, as well. |
To infinity and beyond...on two 741s and one of only 3...nope, make that 4...full nodes in Hawaii...on <30A. (I have other gear on the Hoth ice planet)

Yeah, the number in the bottom right corner for me is the same number that is under "Help"-->"Debug" Window. Currently 29 connections. Not really into making any changes at the moment, but the laptop Core is running on is a 64bit, Quad core, Win10 machine. It has probably 750GB of free space and 16GB of memory. Also fast cable internet with 10GB up and 60GB down. All the correct ports are open in my firewall and router. So I'm not thinking it is a host PC issue. Everything in the v 0.13 Core settings are at default settings. I thought about changing the db size, but decided to leave it alone and not make any changes since it has been working flawlessly for many months. It's no big deal as long as it is working and sharing data in/out. Could be the version of Core I'm running. Oh well. Back to your regularly scheduled program!

The pool size is almost doubled. But the number of blocks daily is almost the same. Is it due to difficulty?

Actually it hasn't doubled it almost quadrupled since just two to three ago months ago! It was just around 20PH I remember we even had like 19ph or even less in February. Although back than we were getting just a block per day and now we are getting 2 daily. And yes, we aren't getting more probably because of the difficulty. And guys what happened to the Block Friday? Seems more like a blockade Friday today! Or maybe we got payed on Tuesday for this Friday? Lol  |
