We're still having random problems in LA, the passthru lost everyone again at 11:00 UTC, 10 minutes after the block.
This affected miners on stratum.kano.is
I restarted it 3 minutes later after giving up on it reconnecting properly.
Hash rate is heading back up and should all be reconnected shortly.
I'll convert the passthru to a node today also, so at some point there will be a reconnect again, I'll mention when that's about to happen, but it will just be a failover then failback straight away.

Had to do an urgent CKDB restart. The LA 'problem' happened again at 07:02 UTC and disconnected everyone on stratum.kano.is but I waited for it to reconnect - which it did pretty quickly - however CKDB was 'unhappy' about it  I've restarted CKDB and it's just completed. A CKDB restart doesn't affect mining, and everyone connected to LA had already reconnected. I'm actually almost finished making a new Silicon Valley node to round-robin with the current passthru, that will be completed some time today and will hopefully alleviate the LA problem. |

Looks like one of our top miners is having network issues.
The new SV node is up and running and I'll be switching users over to it shortly.

I'll be doing a restart of the stratum passthru turning it into a node in the next half hour.
Everyone mining to stratum.kano.is will notice when it happens since everyone will failover then failback again.
I'll reply again after it's done.
There's now actually 2 nodes handling stratum.kano.is - the new one is also a lot bigger than the current one.
If there's any performance problems I'll simply add a 3rd one also, but 2 'should' be enough as a node vs being a passthru, for handling the majority of the pool's shares.
Changes all done. The simple DNS round robin works very well in dividing the miners across the two nodes. Would also seem I timed the change well - just as the hash rate has come back on - we're heading back up to 70PHs again |
