Sigh more ckpool passthru trouble at 13:22 UTC
It decided to stop relaying to the main node and ended up needing a code restart.
Glad it was after the block Tongue All OK again since the restart.

I might have to consider running a few nodes in LA as well as, or instead of the passthru, to stop this from happening so often.
The nodes run OK but the passthru gets random network problems, even with the recent git (I keep updating it to no avail) It seems it's not tested.

Anyone running more than 200TH on a single IP source pointed at the main pool stratum.kano.is feel free to contact me so I can whitelist a private node for you and a few others.
I'll contact you soon anyway since of course I have your email at the pool Smiley but just a heads up about what I'll work on (probably start on that as soon as tomorrow)

I heard that you might soon have a node in Canada with one of the hosting provider there.
Will be glad to change my config for my hosted miners when this happen  Smiley

I'm sitting at about 90, and should be at around 120 once I can buy two more s9's.

I'm in central canada, just curious what I should be using for a primary node and backup node?

Well anyone in East Canada e.g. around NewFoundland/Labrador should be using nya.kano.is

Try pinging each node...you will see which one works best for you.  If your miners are in a data center, make sure you ping the nodes from one of your miners and not from your location Grin

Sigh, NYA cashed and burned (core dumped) at 18:30:38 UTC, but since it was less than 30s total (24s) from crash to restart no one probably noticed Tongue
NYA all ok again.

We need more blocks and more luck Smiley It seems that BTC per THs is reduced from 0.00035732 on April 26 to 0.00021599 today. But the number of blocks is 2 on average. I am not sure whether it's entirely due to difficulty or not.

Look at the stats on the blocks page.

Oddly enough, no pool can expect more than 100% luck.
If you are mining on a pool that uses luck > 100%, or even just luck, to describe what to expect, you are mining on a pool run by a moron.

This reduction isn't really difficulty related, but rather luck related. Not sure what time zone you are in, but it's possible that you saw two blocks today in your time zone today, and 3 blocks in your time zone on April 26.

Kano.is shows 2 blocks found on both days in UTC time. If you are going by UTC time, it's probably because April 26 had a lower hashrate and better luck than today had.

Difficultiy can make a difference, but (probably) not a 40% difference.

taking a break - expect delayed responses

I would think it would be due to the hashing of the pool as a whole going up quiet a bit during that time period. Almost 30Ph during that period. Rewards being spread around to more workers.

It's simply due to luck.
You can not expect every 100 blocks to be 100% luck, let alone 50, 25, 10 or ever 5. It will always vary, even at 1000 blocks Tongue

I think he wants to mine on a PPS pool and be paid less - he probably should do that.

I was once like you are. LOL  Tongue (I can't remember what song that lyric sorta goes with.... Oh yeah!! Neil Young "Old Man")

Anyway, I've found the best way to deal with the symptoms you are experiencing is to:

1) Kick back
2) Relax
3) Don't worry about it
4) Let the blocks come to you
5) Do NOT chase (or feed) the blocks!
6) Breathe slowly and deeply, in and out
7) The blocks will come
Cool Your blood pressure will decrease
9) Your balance will accumulate
10) Bitcoin price will rise
11) The blocks WILL come to you
12) Your balance will accumulate
13) COMEONBLOCKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
14) See a pattern?

"Old man look at my life,
I'm a lot like you were.
Old man look at my life,
I'm a lot like you were."
