Well it depends on the miner fee that you included. If the fee you included is just way too small then they transaction will end up being cancelled, but this is actually not always a good thing because it can be considered a double spend if you intentially send it with a very small miner fee.
For example, if you've sent it with a fee of 0.00020000 BTC and your transaction size was 200 Bytes, then its 100 Sats/byte and should confirm within in the hour.
However if you've sent it with a fee of 0.00002000 BTC then even though it was a legitimate transaction, it will most likely NEVER confirm and you will get your BTC back.
There is a huge grey line here. If you do it on purpose, then its considered a double spend, if you are new and dont understand how fees work and you've reduced the miner fee because you didn't know, then its looked at differently.
