For me a more unstable core overclock limit, had to go down 20 mhz from my usual overclock in nvidia inspector. I recently updated my gtx 1080 g1 gaming bios to the beta, which fixed the memory overclock issue in a p2 state. you could overclock the memory to say 5300 mhz while mining, but if you exit mining, (the old bios caused windows to crash) the new one doesnt.

yeah but i like a 1060 rig also, it hash somehow the same hash per watt compared to 1070, but it's much cheaper, and still very good in many algo not like the 480 which is good on eth only

I got two G1 1070's and I love them. I can only OC about +80 on the core because it automatically boosts to about ~1990 Mhz. It basically automatically overclocks itself for every algo without having to worry about finding the optimal OC that would work with all algos. And if I OC too much it doesn't get stuck on low power mode (405 mhz) like previous generations, it instantly recovers which is great.

At first I wanted to buy G1 1080's but those also only have 1 x 8 pin aux power inputs which is not enough for me. I mean a 5-6 card 1080 rig would pull too much from the risers - for my taste at least. I mean the G1 1070's can pull a bit over 200W at max power limit (111% which is 199W on 'paper') on their own with certain algos.

I'm also interested in the 1060's but it's just not in shops yet and will probably only start popping up terribly overpriced in a couple of weeks.

you can do 80% power limit plus , +150 on the core, is the best combination i got, it hash at 1950 or more and consume no more than 140-150w

It's just a preference but I only buy Gigabyte 3 fan cards, period. It's pointless to mix things up and experiment when things work flawlessly.

A lot of people thought the 750 Ti's only used 38W instead of 60W and in the beginning the miners weren't optimized for the 900-series cards. And for some algos they are much better than the 970 (eg. scrypt-jane) and vice versa.

Ethereum is pretty terrible in terms of profitability so I couldn't care less about it.

Sure... In the beginning... It wasn't the beginning a year ago. Whole reason you change things up and experiment is because you're basing data off 750tis you bought a year earlier and haven't changed because it's working 'flawlessly'. XD

Also, buying different models of cards isn't really messing things up that much. Worst case scenario you get something like the 1070 Amp edition cards... Lucky I actually 'experimented' with them and told you guys about them, so you don't need to go through the same thing. -_-

Ethereum is the mother GPU coin, you should care about it... Look at all the GPU miners hiding in it. All other coins basically mirror it in terms of profitability.


Apparently MSI models use double ball bearings now... at least that is confirmed on the red cards (not sure about white models). Really wish more manufacturers would make a note of what kind of bearings their fans use. That is a HUGE deal and still weird so few actually tell you what sort they use (probably because they're using cheap shitty sleeves).




And that's from a shit sleeve XFX card. They just slowed down till eventually they just popped off the fan shaft, not even joking. It literally fell off.

I agree that eth is the mother of the gpu algos right now, but i don't like to mine just one algo, sure i have most of my rigs on eth, but a lot of them are on other coins.

750Tis even old, still working pretty good (all of them, i have gigabyte 750Ti 2GB and the evga 750ti ftw, both good cards, the ftw is using 36W but hash like a beast, the gigabyte ones are now in 30w and pretty decent khs/watt ratio, they cannot beat the 970 with the new drivers, but back in the day (1 year ago) there were issues with the 970 drivers and efficiency where not as good) probably I was one of the guys that was arguing about efficiency back in the day with you hehe.

Yeah... Pretty certain small and thin fans (based on the height of the fan itself) usually denotes how likely it is for the sleeve/bearing to give out eventually.

So going back to what was being discussed in the Lbry thread, I've personally seen pools skim off the top over the years I've mined... Usually when it comes to brand new coins that are worth a decent amount of money and before everything gets set in stone and people become more aware of it.

Currently a lot of people are mining Lbry, I've tried three pools. MNpool, suprnova, and yiimp. MNpool and suprnova both output about 30% less coins then they should based on estimates, Yiimp on the other hand seems to be paying exactly what it should. I thought that because both MNpool and Suprnova were both putting out 30% less it was normal. Now after using Yiimp for awhile I don't think that's the case at all.

I don't know if they're doing it on purpose or something is messed up on their pools, but it definitely appears that I'm getting the right results from Yiimp and I wasn't from MN or Suprnova. I haven't tried Cointron so they may be clean.

I've personally gotten shit results from Suprnova in the past so I wouldn't put it past them. It seems that the big pools that survived from the Scrypt era all are up to schenanagins... Probably would explain how they survived while tons of other big pools shut down or had to downsize a lot.


My personal recommendation if you're mining Lbry right now is to shoot it to yiimp. That and Epsylon runs it so he gets the 1% which is a good reward for his development.

With ccminer-1-8-tpruvot-windows 10 x64 , i have 270 mh/s with +150 on core clock with driver 368.81-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql with LBRY algo .
