there is absolutely no change in speed. when changing voltage to 0755 and frequency to 0782
Here is the screenshot
https://www.dropbox.com/s/opcn6gym9hrc92l/lowghs1%20111414.png?dl=0

As far as multiple U3s go. For testing purposes i connected two U3 miners to the same computer and ran bitmain cgminer. It keeps going in restart loop. As soon as i remove one miner the cgminer starts fine. Only then while cgminer is running i can add the second U3 and it will start mining

i have had best luck with this command about 45GH/s but not even close to 63GH/s as advertised "hassle free setup" not really
cgminer.exe --bmsc-options 115200:1 -o stratum+tcp://us1.ghash.io:3333 -u user -p password --bmsc-voltage 0750 --bmsc-freq 0882

can anyone let me know how to mine with multiple u3 in the same cgminer

Please set like this   ./cgminer --bmsc-options 115200:1 --bmsc-voltage 0755 --bmsc-freq 0782
The voltage is too low, should at least 0725(turn to Readme)
For the issue about mining multiple U3 in the same cgminer, please connect the USB cable of each U3 into the same PC, or use the same USB hub, connected and run cgminer. Please noted that connection order must be - plug one side of 12V AC/DC power brick into U3, and plug the other side into AC input. Then, connect U3 and the computer via the USB line.

^^^ Thats a BITMAIN engineer.

Following the instructions provided above with a fresh compile of CGMiner from: https://github.com/bitmaintech/cgminer I still get an abort:

Code:
 [2014-11-14 07:56:45] ---------------------start voltage----------------------
 [2014-11-14 07:56:45] Send voltage aab755c2

 [2014-11-14 07:56:49] Recv 4 freq getstatus=800f00020a
[2014-11-14 07:56:49] --------recv freq getstatus ok finish---------
 [2014-11-14 07:56:50] -----------------start nonce------------------
[2014-11-14 07:56:50] Bmsc send golden nonce
 [2014-11-14 07:56:50] AMU0 Init: mode=default read_time=100ms limit=0ms Hs=2.976100e-09
 [2014-11-14 07:56:50] Hotplug: Bitmain added AMU 0
 [1]    14682 abort      ./cgminer --bmsc-options 115200:1 --bmsc-voltage 0755 --bmsc-freq 0782

CGMiner then closes/crashes.

This happens on both a Ubuntu 14.04 box as well as a OSX 10.9.5 laptop.

If Bitmain can't provide software that actually works with their hardware as they claim why would I ever buy their products again?

The instructions do not clear up or fix anything.
Not to mention the files referenced (the cg miner version) in the guide do not exist in the location given.
Still get bad or unrecognized command, or the noonce golden loop, depending on which version of cgminer I try.

Tried the new instructions, with the Engineer specified frequency and now I'm hashing at 40 GH/s.  I was hashing at 30 GH/s on some other frequency & voltage settings before.

I'm pretty disappointed in this device so far.  This would be my seventh bitcoin machine I've set up, including AntminerS1 and AntminerS3 and this is by far the most hassle and most amount of time wasted simply trying to get it to work at all.

Which software link specifically? The Antminer cgminer one worked fine for me: https://www.bitmaintech.com/files/download/cgminer-run-windows-2014

Thanks Dogie. After trying three different browsers I finally found one (IE) that would link to the file rather than the product page using that link.
Unfortunately using this version of cgminer I still just get a Zombie device. ("failed to initialize   wrong device?") even though it connects to the pool and looks like it is starting it just goes to AMU 0 error and goes Zombie within 2 seconds (I did try different pools with same result) I tried unplugging and reinstalling device and switching usb ports. No help. I tried the settings the engineer posted with and without voltage setting. I also tried the settings as given in the U3 guide and it came back with  "unrecognized command --startdiff 6" tried those settings without startdiff which gives the same AMU failure  failed to initialize.
I will try a different power supply tomorrow once I can get one (I don't have any other 12V 6A 2.1 mm barrel plug supplies on hand).

Edit:
Was able to borrow a correct power supply. Same result.
It must be a software issue.
cgminer starts up but device goes Zombie within 2 seconds then gives me the "failed to initialize  wrong device?" error.

Hello,
I am getting very frustrated, I purchased two Antminer U3's just for fun. I trade a few coins here and there and thought it would be fun to mine a few. Bitman has the best reputation, and I was very interested in the U3.

I received them today, and cannot get them to work at all.

I installed the cp2102 USB to UART controller, and the system devices recognizes when I plug in the U3.

When I plugged in the U3 the fan comes on.

When I plug in the USB cables red light comes on inside the unit ( it stays on even if unplugged from the wall.
I downloaded the cgminer from the Bitman site.

I used the code cgminer.exe --bmsc-options 115200:20 -o 50.31.149.57:3333 -u ktzhan_3 -p 123 --bmsc-freq 0781       with my pools and my username.

I put it in a .bat file and when I ran it

The system box opens something runs and then closes. to fast to see what is going on.

So I tried the command line, It opens, then says No devices detected, Waiting for USB hot plug, need to specify at least one pool input server details

The same thing happens when I just run the exe, when I put in the server, user name, and password it just locks up.

I have tried it on two different computers with Windows 8.1, I even tried it on windows 10, tech release.     No Joy it acts the same on all of them.

I changed around the miners, and the power packs.

I know my way around a computer, I do not code, I do not know how to compile, I just load programs and expect them to work,

I have set all of my firewalls to allow access to the internet.

Can anyone offer suggestions?

Looks like my grandkids can use them as pretend space ships.
Barbara

Of course. The first thing I tried when I had a problem was reinstalling the silabs driver and rerunning Zadig to replace the usb driver. I also retried Zadig with the latest version and an older version. I treid different computers, different operating systems, different USB ports, different power supplies, different versions of cgminer (the u1 version, the U3 version and the latest cgminer version). I tried different USB cables, different power cables. Since it will connect for about a second or two when it first starts it must be either a software issue or the miner itself is just defective.

Nightshiftgirl;

add:    pause

at the end of your bat file.  This will keep the window open and you will be able to see what is happening.  Also I would add a voltage setting so your bat should look something like this:

Code:
cgminer.exe --bmsc-options 115200:1 -o pool -u user -p password --bmsc-freq 0782 --bmsc-voltage 0720

pause

replace cgminer with your actual cgminer path; and your pool, user, pass.

on another note I can't get the U3 to work on my Windows 8 pc; it works on both 32 and 64 bit Windows 7 pc's.  Keeps going zombie after 4 or 5 hours thou.

Try reinstalling the driver with zadig.  When I first plugged the U3 in, Windows installed some weird driver that doesn't work.

Then, play around with the voltage and frequency settings until you find one that sticks.   Unlike fullzero's list of results he posted, most of those combinations resulted for me in it not finding the device at all.  It also never find the device right away, it takes a few minutes.

I'd also try and just have one hooked up and see if you can get one working first, then try the other.

My results on Win7 64 bit, using fullzero's suggested settings, were hashing at 30 GH/s for 24 hours with no issues other than it's only half the advertised hash rate.  Then I switched to the Engineer's suggested settings and it was hashing at 40 GH/s for about 12 hours when it quit hashing for some reason in the middle of the night (no error codes on cgminer, just wasn't doing anything more than hashing at a negligible megahash rate less than the old school block eruptors), so I restarted the PC and it's now back running at 40 GH/s.  So I'd only consider my results partially successful, so far.

thanks
With the Pause added I could see what is going on. I tried to connect to Slushes and I mine it but could not connect at all I finally connected with I space in England but I am only getting around 10 gb of hash on only one miner, I have not tried two together.   I am using the cmd

cgminer.exe --bmsc-options 115200:10 -o stratum+tcp://ispace.co.uk:3333 -u Mylogin.miner -p x  --bmsc-freq 0782 --bmsc-voltage 0720

Try your voltage setting at 0755 and find a frequency that it likes at that voltage.   This should improve your hashrate, or at least it did for me.

I have tired a lot of different setting.  Thanks for all of the advice, but why hasn't Bitman done something, I paid for 63 GH and I am getting at best an average of 7.5.

Since I have two miners, I have tried them both with the same results,

I agree Bitmain should fix this issue immediately. Everyone are having issues with U3s? At best they mine 45GH/s
cgminer.exe --bmsc-options 115200:1 -o pool:port -u user -p pass --bmsc-voltage 0755 --bmsc-freq 0882

BITMAIN PLEASE listen to your customers and help us resolve this mining issue. Clearly they are not mining up to par as bitmain promised at 63GH/s

I think this is your problem:

--bmsc-options 115200:10

 it should be:

Code:
--bmsc-options 115200:1

Thanks everyone for  your help. I have both of the U3s running, I am getting  a 70.4g average for both on the 1 min, total average 60.1 in half an hour/

One of the U3s went zombie and I unplugged it and it re-started.

If I reboot the computer I have to reinstall the driver for the second U3 with Zadig.

I power on both U3s, Plug in only one usb , if both are plugged in It crashes the miner.  After the first one starts I plug in the second one and it starts running.

They do not output much heat, I was hoping for a little heat for my apartment.

I am done playing for today, Learned a lot for a 67 year old woman Smiley

Since the power brick supplied using the settings they suggest pretty much started melting on me does anyone know of a decent replacement I can pick up off amazon or something?
