Price is ridiculously low right now never thought it would go this low, at least ARCH is a solid company and not just some thin air scam. I'll be looking to buy at 5k and hold for the long term.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Not a scam, but close to it; especially the unethical behaviors from the BTCA himself.

Arch was one of the first altcoins I bought. It was cheap and seemed to have a decent concept behind it. I hold what I bought mostly out of silly attachment to my first purchase but have to say Ihope they release some news soon.

I'd like to point out, however that I may have found the problem with Moby. I went over to the Moby.io website again this morning and noticed something I didn't see last time. If you scroll down to the "Design" section you'll find the following statement:

Quote

Design

Inspired by the hump of a great white whale, and just like a whale, it symbolizes what should be our primordial relationship with nature, simple, fearless but with utter respect. Built with light weight composites with high density insulation as resistant as 1 inch steel.

Unfortunately I didn't notice this previously, but the answer has been there all along. There is no such animal as a "great white whale", the term is used to refer to albino whales in general, but no specific species goes by that moniker. Thus it is entirely reasonable to deduce that since the design of Moby is based on something that doesn't exist,  Moby doesn't exist either.

I guess this teaches me to read more carefully next time!

(Okay, this is kind of tongue in cheek but I still think there's a problem when the first line of description on the moby site points to an animal that doesn't exist as the inspiration...It shows a certain lack of a review process which does not bode well for the overall project IMO)

Still, I ain't selling, just thought this was interesting.

Reference to a Beluga whale. Kinda looks like a Moby, but don't take my word for it.

Beluga whales are indeed known as white whales but not great white whales. You also wouldn't call a great white shark simply a white shark.

Google great white whale and the closest ties are to moby dick which is also fictional.

I get that it is probably a simple error or mistranslation but since the page is in English and it is the first thing people see,  and the basis for the design,  it would be good to use a name the beluga is commonly referred to with.

Nitpicking really but the fact no whale is called the "great white whale"  kind of fit with the situation and I found it interesting is all.

ARCH on!

I am new to this project.  I cannot get the wallet online: is there anything special I need to do, such as, creating a conf file?

Yup https://archsupport.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/5000497258-how-to-download-archcoin-conf-file-how-to-update-nodes-

Sometimes it does take awhile to connect but if you use that config and leave it you'll be okay.

That configuration file was already included, but I went through the steps anyway.  I also uninstalled and started over again; however, I am not getting any connections.  Maybe this coin is a dead coin?

I had significant trouble when I first installed as well. Add all of these nodes to your archoin.conf file. It fixed it for me.
