There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Looks to me to be a scam of type.  Says one-hour but nothing.  Even said the money is in my Paypal account.  I guess I will have to go post my review of this service.

If this is your first paypal transaction with us our delivery partners review it manually, future transactions should be instant.

Is anyone using this since the relaunch ?  I posted another thread about this as well:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=234349

I also PM'ed Yankee - and in the past got very quick replies from him.  Trying to figure out what's going on with them.

Bitinstant scammed me for $500

I sent 6 x $500 bank transfers through zipmark. They have all cleared my checking account. Bitinstant only transferred 5 transactions. They refuse to send my final 5 btc. I WANT MY BTC! And no longer replying to my emails either.

I'm sure you'll get your money. BitInstant just launched a new site and had some downtime from that. Other people had delays with their orders and customer service, but always got their money in the end.

Bitcoin is the first monetary system to credibly offer perfect information to all economic participants.

I find it funny that their site's title is "Time is money"
If they don't have enough bitcoin funds, then they shouldn't take orders or at least show their reserve/stock balance on their site.

I am unable to create an account on Bitinstant and the more I learn, the more serious my concerns become about using Bitinstant at all any more.  I hope you can address my concerns and add some transparency to your "identification" process.  If my concerns have already been asked/answered I would love a link because I can not find them addressed, except on your Facebook page, which is apparently set to private.

Please see more details in my post here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=251762.0

1. Can you explain in detail how your "identification" process works or provide a link if it has been explained?
I find it quite strange that must I tell Bitinstant how much my parent's paid for a house for 15+ years ago and verify another street address from 20 years ago in order to create an account for myself.

2. What should a person do if they do not have this information, as I do not?

3. What personal information that I provided to Bitinstant was used to search for their previous street addresses and the amount my parents bought and sold their homes for?

4. Where does Bitinstant get this information?

--

I have been trying to buy 100 BTC for 2 weeks now.  What fun it has been, I still have zero.

Have you never taken a test like that before? Stop being a scaredy cat.
That information is compiled by the credit agencies.
It's called knowledge based authentication.

No, I have not seen anything like that before, which may explain my apprehension.  I am asking how they linked it to me as I don't believe I provided enough information about myself that should allow them to.

Yeah, it's like a built in credit bureau that knows everything about you and matches you up with your ID through the various questions. Creepy if you ask me. That is why, if you value privacy, that you should do all of your trades locally through person-to-person transactions.
