I was interested in the loadmaster until i read the reviews. 10-15% primer insertion failure? have you had any issues?

There are some tricks.. like if you add a universal sizing die over the priming station, it helps things line up.. but i always prime by hand..   i just like to feel the primers go in properly with my own digits...  that said.. i have made 500 rounds in a row on that press with little interupion... i have the case colator addon thing so it will drop the cases into the tubes the right way.

Really though.. with all lee progressives (and all progressives ?)  you have to give it tender love and care.. you don't just set things up and start wacking rounds out until your arm gets tired.. you have to keep an eye on every stage.. make sure your charge looks good.. stop to test your  OAL and weigh the charge once in a while, etc...    really i think a lee loadmaster is worth the cost even if it was just used for depriming..  because the case feed works so well you can deprime and size 1000 rounds of used brass in no time...

I don't get to shoot that often anymore.. so I have been using my Lee Classic Turret Press .. which I enjoy enough for everything but depriming.

Does anyone know anyone who does laser etching on metal?   I'm looking to get this logo placed on a chrome  backplate for my Glock...  lone wolf distributors claim they do it, but have not replied to any of my order requests.

I have an svg of the logo, and have overlayed it on a picture of a backplate (the piece on the rear of the slide) to show what I'm talking about:

That's right..  cobra symbol from Gi Joe.  I want to give my Glock a little pizazz.

Wait.... I'm confused.... How do you ship live ammunition? Isn't that against all of the shipping companies policies?

Is there a type of ammunition other than "live"  ?   hehe

The answer is no, its not against shipping policies..  you have to pay a $25 hazmat fee if you want to ship primers or powder, but complete ammo is NOT hazardess, despite what the media tells us apparently Smiley

empty cartridges aren't live. I have some family that has a reloading setup, so they just make their own ammo, and getting some of the supplies is a pain in the ass. I just hadn't though shipping ammo was a good idea, with the heat, and pressure if its flown, and the risk of it getting dropped and firing.

the only thing thats going to set a round off is a precise strike from a hammer, etc.

Yea.. ammo doesn't  "go off"..  media propaganda....  even in a fire, ammo isn't going to be that dangerous because without a solid chamber for the case wall to press against, most of the propellant gases just go everywhere instead of concentrate a bullet foward...

Getting supplies to reload is NOT a pain in the ass.  You can order everything.. in bulk or very small quantities from hundreds of websites... like i said the only bad part is the $25 hazmat fee on powder/primers but you only have to pay it once per package.. not for each item.. and it still usually ends up being cheaper than buying at a gun store locally.

Yeah shipping is included there. You have to fill out an orm sticker and slap it on the box before shipping via ups or fedex ground. I will probably use fedex since they ship saturdays if they dont charge me hazmat fees

Not true, my uncle had a shotgun shell while pheasant hunting, and he hit the pin with something in his pocket, and it sploded in his hand. Hes alright, but both him and my dad now have little dents in their skulls and scars all over.

Edit*

Yeah that makes sense, seeing as the shots weren't fatal, but they did leave some nasty scars.

Pretty sure all Ammunition has to be shipped Ground. Can't go Air from what I recall. Does USPS even do shipping for Ammo? Or do you have to ship via UPS and other commercial shipping companies? When I order from sgammo, cheaperthandirt, and a few other places, it always comes UPS Ground.

Then what's a Cookoff?

It's when a barrel is so hot, that it bakes a cheap primer into firing.  I've literally never seen anything like this actually happen, and I've fired an M60 until the barrel glowed red and each new round produced a white hot dot on the barrel that zipped down and out.  Throwing them into a fire will blow them, but it's the caged force of being inside of a chamber that is dangerous.

Not that throwing ammo into a fire is actually safe.

"The powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent meetings and conferences. The apex of the systems was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world's central banks which were themselves private corporations. Each central bank...sought to dominate its government by its ability to control Treasury loans, to manipulate foreign exchanges, to influence the level of economic activity in the country, and to influence cooperative politicians by subsequent economic rewards in the business world."
