omg enuf with the black talon, its just hollow point ammo that fragments, tons of self defense ammo's do this, its just the name and marketing got the medias attention and politicians tried to make hay out of it..

Any rifle round will blow thru a 2a,2,3a vest.  You need plates or dragonskin to stop rifle rounds.

7.62 x25 Tokarev, any 9/.38/.357 going 1600fps+ (basically .357 max and hot .38 super), and 5.7x28   will go thru soft vests with fmj or solids.

Black talon pfft. If I remember that ammo got a bad rap in the press as "cop killer" ammo. People seemed disturbed at how it expands into a scary metal flower. As stated above people began to think it could go through body armor or that it "exploded" when it hit you. The fact is that mushrooming ammo is safer than FMJ because it lacks penetration power once it has hit the target.

If they had just called it puppy hug ammo no one would have ever noticed.

The funny part is this:  I know you live in florida, and you visit the good folks at Shoot Straight, you should be able to find them there, and the new Zombie rounds are cheaper than the Critical Defense rounds.  They are identical in load and projectile, only difference being the color of the plastic insert is a different color.
