good luck, i've been PMing him i get replies in Seconds I TRIED THAT haha try it again.

The correction is that txleveldb must also be removed. The old instructions omitted that step.

we didn't get that far. he gave up and got rude instead and then i gave up and got rude, lol.  i just deleted the whole block of 'em haha in my comp worked like a charm!  i went ahead and closed/ restarted it, didn't wait to see if there was a hangup.  it's really pretty cool, hope you get it running!

hi, maybe i can help.

https://stealthcointalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=46&sid=81072e6e27ca6336066460dc7492652b

this is a FAQ link.  i believe that you need to download the bootstrap file.  if you have the (i have 8.1) newer windows, it should go into user name/ app data/ roaming/ stealthcoin with the other unzipped files.

Hi Mind808 crime,

I download bootstrap file. on my win7, but after almost 100% loading to open the wallet.
The message about blkindex.dat shows up.

very annoying

thanks,

J

There looks to be a little mistake in the instructions, which were left over from the old database system.

Try the instructions below (note the difference in blue). We'll fix the OP and FAQ.

StealthCoin Syncing Made Easy

1. Back up your wallet
2. Stop the old client
3. Go to the application data directory
4. Remove blk0001.dat, txleveldb (directory), database (directory), db.log, and debug.log
5. Download the zipped bootstrap file from https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8rWObF4xz1YRzd1VVNXM0JrWEE/view?usp=sharing
6. Unpack the bootstrap file into the application data directory
7. Start the new client
8. For the new client your computer will pause momentarily at 71% to fill the key pool (you may not notice)
9. The progress will pause at 91% for as much as one hour (up to 2 hours for old computers!) to validate the bootstrap file
10. The chain may take 5 to 10 minutes to sync

FAQ has been updated:

https://stealthcointalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=46&sid=81072e6e27ca6336066460dc7492652b

If you have questions raise them here or on our new forum and we will add the relevant issues to the FAQ

To mind808crime: thank you for the link, sadly I could not find the solution how to solve the "error blkindex.dat"  challenge!! It is not a sync error!!
After searching on internet I found the solution. Delete all files except your .dat wallet file. The error blkindex.dat only shows up, if you turn off your pc incorrectly.

To StealthDevs: thank you for personal message. I installed new version and patiently waited. All done!!

Thanks for letting us know! We are happy you got synced. Welcome to the community!

We will work on making this easier. This is a top priority. The following note applies to other users...

For those having trouble syncing, it is probably just because of impatience (which is understandable). On windows if you click the splash screen while your computer is validating the bootstrap.dat file, you will see this:

Don't close the program! Just click "Wait for the program to respond." Don't turn off your computer during this process so make sure you have time to do it when you start. Also, if you have a laptop, make sure it is plugged in.

Welcome gnargnar!

XST has a great dev team and community that is always around to help out and answer questions.  Grin

The devs are always working on the progression of XST, and there are a lot of cool things yet to come.

If your interested in joining the Slack channel, let us know and we'll look into adding you there.

As far as the 8.5BTC @3K...the marketcap is low at the moment, therefore market manipulation. If you've been around crypto enough...you know how that goes. It won't last too long.

Thank you for the warm welcome!  Smiley

I've downloaded the newest wallet and currently loading with the bootstrap, thanks to StealthDevs for the step by step info on how to use the bootstrap.
but before using that bootstrap file, i wanted to see that wallet so i loaded it and i was like... WOW !!! Shocked  Cool

that wallet is simply awesome! probably one of the best i've seen in crypto ever!

yes, i will send you a pm later about the slack channel.

i see that wall of 8.5k is a little less now and got bitten a bit. I really think you may be right.. this wall is forcing ppl to sell, but I feel Stealthcoin will rise quite a lot very soon.
that wallet is just too magic, added to all other services already there

I know...right? The wallet is by far the best that I've seen in crypto! As soon as the code goes public, it will be cloned and will probably become the new norm for wallets.

Send the pm to Koontas...he's the administrator of the Slack room. If you can't find him, I'll forward the message to him.  Wink

hey dude! Sorry for delay to respond, just saw your message now! I am very busy in recent months and almost no time to bitcointalk and slack. Very nice to see you here my friend!
Beware of these chemical, better opt for something more natural like marijuana  Cheesy

Thanks Emilio, been a bit busy myself... cleaning myself up & such, brainstorming for a new blog. Those Benzos are a bitch & being a regular beer drinker it became a recipe for disaster. It all started with a pinched pelvic nerve & I ended up gobbling those suckers like candy. Funny, when I originally posted, I was so whacked the reason I couldn't get into Slack was I wasn't even using the right url. DOH! Anyways, staying away from the brew for now & doing exactly what you mentioned ;-) The pills I'm having my doctor taper me off. Glad to see you're still around!

Also mad props to Hondo & the crew for this amazing new wallet, it is a one of a kind for sure!
Definitely a nice smooth set-up on my end.
2015 is gonna be a great year! I'm looking forward to the new innovations & it's great to see more interest from investors :-D

Cheers!

I'm interested to know if anyone is having trouble with syncing from the bootstrap file. Today I found a very rare issue at block 304489. It looks like there is a normal orphan in the chain, but it is not being interpreted as an orphan by the bootstrap validation code. Instead, the validation code appears to want to keep this orphan as the main chain and orphan the rest of the blocks, leaving the user to sync about 50k blocks from the network.

I'm working to resolve this issue. It may be due to my source for the bootstrap file in that all my nodes have the same strange orphan at 304489. But if anyone is still having a problem, please PM StealthDevs (not StealthSend) and your message will get to me. I generally log in as StealthDevs when I check the thread. This is a very rare problem that has happened once in over 350,000 blocks. But I'd still like to get it resolved in the best way.
