I don’t know what kind of filter you can think of to be 100% sure that the ICO is genuine or not, deception or not, now is the time when people come up with very complex systems and some projects are very interesting and could be developed, people ruin them for greed (

Most newbs are just impatient.

They need to do a lot of reading and research before they get into ICO.

They buy any ICO and expect it to be the next bitcoin.

that is true is not only to see a project and say that it is useful at first sight, the idea is that you observe its products or services and consider if it is really useful for people.

Sometimes this may not be in the short term but maybe in the future when the adoption increases a lot of people will want to acquire tokeno at least that is my way of thinking.

It was fantasy i know that this kind of filter will not be possible (well it might through ICO review service which that wouldn't be free of use  Cry ). No what i meant is there is load of projects that don't use the power of BC, it's just a way to raise funds for their project. Basically they see the BC as a way to raise founds and that's it. We don't really need those kind of projects in cryptoworld IMHO.

I agree with you about the greed of people / company that can ruin everything. Wait, isn't it the current global system actually? Wink

I would not say that ICO kills bitcoin or ether. Most likely this is one of the branches of the development of cryptocurrency in general. Just for now, cryptocurrency is a wild west. Many destinations have not yet acquired the required form. By and large, it was thanks to ICO that many successful projects appeared, including ether. Perhaps the problem of scam in the ICO will be solved thanks to security tokens, regulation by the authorities or freezing tokens for developers for a year or more.

I don’t know what is relevant at the moment, but just now, basically, when you look at some projects, or the ICO first of all you spend a lot of time trying to find out where is deception and where is the catch, it seems to me that to some extent it slows down the development of the cryptocurrency market in the world, how to deal with it? I do not know(

All other crypto are coming after bitcoin and other coins are using for a projects but all of them are virtual currencies may the ICO are good and successful but it is not trusted as bitcoin is trusted and the present situation of bitcoin is good because it is stable form and i like that bitcoin value is stable.

no one can ban the ICO's and no one can ban Bitcoin, this is purely business. but from what I noticed with the emergence of the ICO, the name Bitcoin is increasingly known by many people, not even killing it, I think you should think about that again about the ICO's that killed Bitcoin..

It true that the icos are killing bitcoin. This is because of the recent scam issues that comes with icos. When people notice this scam issues, they quit to escape being scammed. Again people exchange their monies to buy new coins which reduce bitcoin price.

I don't think that there is something that can kill btc because it is the most powerful one. To my mind, it is better to use btc as the long-term investment at the moment because it is worth it!

you think it's too narrow, you say that ICO kills and drops bitcoin, whereas in fact the price of new crypto currencies also follows developments in bitcoin prices, of course this will be a better crypto currency community and with more crypto currency communities then the price Bitcoin will also continue to increase.

The rise of many fraudulent ICOs has made the cryptocurrency market have signs of volatility. Bitcoin is also a worrying influence for new investors.

I never understood why cryptotraders and exchanges support ICO's, my reasoning is this: An ICO gets funded, then they do what, they SELL the BTC they raised for fiat and push the price dive on BTC, thus taking all those BTC out of the trade environment, anyone thinking that an ICO would reinvest into the exchange is naive. This hurts everyone, even the exchanges. You might say "Well the exchanges get fee's on ico" well that is true, but they are losing all future potential fee's on those coins, if they had continued trade on the market.

So in Short - ICO's are killing Bitcoin and CryptoMarkets.

I dont think ICOs are killing bitcoin. Many ICOs success when landed in market and make their investor gain big profits. ICOs developers thats hold bitcoin will not selling their bitcoin because they need to build their project. I am believe good ICOs make cryptocurrency market more attractive with their new project

indeed ico has a bad impact on bitcoin but if the ico is run successfully then a new investment system will emerge and it also benefits those who invest their money in ico

ICOs are not killing the Bitcoin. They are exposing the mainstream society to the use of cryptocurrencies.  I agree that majority of ICOs are scam project that are out to defraud the unsuspending investors of their funds. Still, there are genuine ICOs that are beneficial to both investors and developers. One needs to do his due diligence before investing.

They will not be able to kill bitcoin or significantly affect it. But the fact is that now there are a lot of fraudulent projects that undermine people's trust in the cryptocurrency. That's the problem.
Yes those scammed projects has killed the image of bitcoin and cryptocurrency because those people will no longer buy bitcoin due to their bad experience.

LOL.. this post was made in 2014, almost one year before the Ethereum ICO went live (the pre-sale happened in 2014 though). I will never blame the ICOs. Because they played their part in popularizing the crypto, at least during the initial days.
