From what I saw it looks like the coin was created to raise money, the site mentions that the coin "is worth mining and investing" and apart from the algorithm being more profitable to miners I didn't see anything that shows that this coin has any real potential value or use.

The site mentioned that the developers set up the coin to help with renewable energy, security, nano-tech and long life research, how do the developers plan to go ahead with this and is there a roadmap we can view?

Hi, I've just downloaded the UFOcoin wallet for MAC OSX

It doesn't sync. It states Wallet (out of sync) 'No block source available'. 

I had the exact same problem with another coin wallet and the fix was to add a load of nodes with: addnode=xyz into the 'xyzcoin.conf' file. I can't see such a file in the User->Library->Application Support ->UFO directory.

Any ideas please on how I can get the wallet to start the sync process?

Yes b232c, it's a data mismatch hard coded into the wallet, it will be fixed into the next compiled version.
With the P8trade tip your wallet should be synced.

Seems it's work but it's very beta, with some issue fixed, and the seeder hardcoded inside fixed.
