where do I get my worker name from ? what is my worker ? noob question yes, but I can't see it anywhere on my antpool account
Go to your account settings. I added a sub account of aurel (you may use like vortexz)...add a wallet to mine to there also. Then use that subaccount name (aurel for me) then if you add more than one miner and you want to keep them seperate you can add aurel.1 or aurel.2...ect. (you may want vortexz.1 ) once you have them mining go to your dashboard and check your workers, as the workers are added automatically. If they show up you should be good as it takes a while for the hash to catch up and show anything..maybe 10 mins but if the workers are showing up leave it go for 10 mins. I made the mistake of screwing with it as no hash was showing up and I didn't know it would take a while.

Sounds like you got it then... The slowness of the hash showing up had me all screwed up the first time. You can also set up your account as PPS or PPLNS

Different pools display stats at different rates, and getting them spun up the first time was always a crap shoot for me. Did you finally get some resolution to this?

Anybody know which ports are for PPS, PPLNS, Solo, etc? I can't find a mapping...
EDIT: Of course, right after I ask I find it is a setting on the site... That is a different way of doing it, but a good idea...

I just dust off my old antminner s3 and trying to get working with antpool. It was not difficult to configure it earlier this year with BTCGuild and other popular mining pools but now nothing happens

Good job AntPool, continuing to mine absurd numbers of empty blocks and contributing to backlogs on the network! You just mined 2 empty blocks in under 10 minutes. The fact that miners continue to feed you hashpower when you do this shit so often is appalling.

I built a thing for this, F2Pool is almost as bad.... All the chinese pools do the same shit, and continue to do so even after they caused a fork event. Nice to see you made it easy to visualize just how terrible they are.

Nice to see you made it easy to visualize just how terrible they are. Slush is looking better everyday. If I get back into the mining scene again I'll definitely be using a pool that helps us instead of hurting us. Of course, getting back into the mining business means buying from BITMAIN currently....

Man, you really need to bring btcguild back up. These Chinese megapools are bad for the btc network. How much does it cost to keep the pool infrastructure up and running? Maybe you can re-open it up here in Canada? Could you PM me some details regarding running costs if you have the time.

btcguild was my first BTC pool Anyone have a good technical post on mining pools that do empty blocks. I understand it's bad to mine them for the network, but not exactly how it's bad, or how a pool determines if they mine them etc. Been seeing it posted a lot in various threads but I guess I just haven't found the right post with the right wording to comprehend.

He's right. Same thing happened to me. I simply created a ticket at Bitmain Support and they took care of it. It took about 24 hours total for the payment to be confirmed via email. It took another 6 hours for my status in my "Orders" to be changed from "unpaid / unshipped / expired" to "Paid / unshipped / Valid." I placed my order at 4:59am CST on 11/04/2015.
