...

By all means, avoid antpool if you want, but if you want to mine with someone who doesn't run around with his head up his ass you're much better off with Bitminter.
Who has a history of over 2% empty blocks ... when I brought it up with him a couple of years ago, he "blamed" bitcoin ... ... ...

Sure, and he's a nice guy who cares about the Bitcoin network. If you care about miner centralization he's a very good choice.

So ... ... ... again, in case shit: are you going to support Bitcoin Classic or are you going to GPU mine like it's 1999 2012?

The only one with his head up his ass is you FATMAN.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

WTF is going on in here? This entire thread should be deleted. It obviously isn't a support thread since Bitmain doesn't participate, but everytime someone does make a post (like this) just brings the thread up to top where everyone is most likely to read first. Derrrrr.

You think its bad here .Check out the latest posts on bitmain talk..  If i was anyone of anyone and had any money in hashnest id be pulling it out.. They seem to be on a rather slippery slope as of late..

Lets see if i got it right..

1)Support has always been shit.

2)Send us the junk miners of their farms.  2 week or longer turn around time when they inevitably break due to being used or just piss poorly made.. ON TIME sensitive machines no less Roll Eyes

3)No compensation from batch 1 fiasco of s7

4)Gouging on miner price when they know they are only good for 6 months tops!  roi is over 9 months to a year

5)Spv mining

6)mining empty blocks or ones that are half full which isnt any better when the network is backlogged  Transaction Ages 379h 45m 56s  Thats how far back we are!!!  and its ever increasing as the majority of hash is in pool that practice bad network behaviour.   Thankfully we have pools that see Satoshi's vision and fill the blocks or we would be far worse in backlogged transactions..

At this point id be alarmed as hell at the past record bitmain has been showing.. The pattern should be becoming much more apparent..  Like my dad always said.. Money talks Bullshit walks.

Let me know if ive missed anything

Yeah, I was actually excited about that. I'd used p2pool before when I was GPU mining so when I ordered an S5 and when it arrived went to their website and saw all the stuff about p2pool and how they had one...

Oh well, best run decentralized anyway Smiley

And the rewards are down by a mile. Think a 4 times what they were 3 months ago slowly decreasing each day on there hashnest. Users hasn't increased, Farm hasn't increased so where's the money going

Here's a bit of ethics that should always be followed. You don't sell a product that has a money value and then compete against your customers. Bitmain runs antpool which they also run hashnest on and there own personal farms. Effectively the guy wants it all. He may have spent money setting it up but typical greedy douchebag and I bet Genesis are the same.

So, will Antpool die naturally or will it need help?

Is it possible to modify/enhance Bitcoin to reject/ignore blocks from Antpool?  If we don't forward their crap empty blocks then no one will build on top of them, right?

Sure, you can blacklist them I guess. Might want to blacklist f2pool as well. They produce a lot of empty blocks. Maybe just blacklist all blocks originating from China. That way we'll be safe from chinese government interference. Probably best to blacklist Bitfurys blocks as well. They're originally a russian company. We all know the russians haven't been friendly to crypto. Then, of course, we'd have to blacklist Tor addresses and known vpn providers. That's a lot of blacklisting! Probably best to just have a closed network of approved nodes and transaction verification services. Something like ripple might do the trick. Or maybe just Hyperledger? Oh no! It's crap!

Oh, good points; can we be more surgical and blacklist just blocks below some threshold in size from anyone?  Hmm, unless the mempool is low enough then small or empty blocks are ok.  Hmm, filling up a block with junk transactions isn't what we want.  Oh, maybe their mempool was low at the moment due to something, e.g. network issues.  Hey, this might not be an easy issue.

As I understand they spv mine through the Great Firewall of China. Kano has a link to a thread a couple of pages back where he has very strong opinions about it. With larger blocks this would be less of a problem though.

Lately it seems that only half of my antminers will stay connected to AntPool.  The rest fall off to secondary pool.

Does AntPool all of a sudden have a limit to the number of machines you can have connected?  I have 110 total.

Anyone else experiencing problems like this?

Is there a reason why AntPool has only (1) transactions to blocks when all others have thousands??
https://btc.com/en/block/00000000000000000363bf2270c309562d5d4a2124f2f99bb9acbf820a254aa0

Two blocks, in less than an hour with 1 transaction each.

We're "only" 25,000 transactions behind, is there a reason for this?
Seriously, I cannot in good conscience mine here until this problem is resolved.
It's nice to find blocks but not if you hogtie the network.
Right now, you're a busted leg on the network, you're not even needed if you're not moving transactions.
Not like there is a lack of them.

There is no good/acceptable reason at all. Not including Bitcoin transactions goes directly against what Bitcoin is about. I am glad you see that you cannot mine here in good conscience and I hope other miners follow suit or Antpool change their ways (either is acceptable to me  Grin).

Some people claim its because of the great firewall but truth is its all about maximizing their profits and getting as many blocks as quickly possible. Not including transactions is seen as being a quicker way to relay found blocks but other pools like kano and ck process full blocks quicker than antpool do empty blocks. The other thing with antpool (and others) is the SPV mining too. I hope pool miners on antpool experience delays in paying/receiving BTC so they can see the effect mining empty blocks has. Funnily enough Antpool doesn't even include their own transactions in their blocks  Huh

Mine at Jonny's Pool

It's because of their lousy code, plain and simple.  They maintain an awful fork of cgminer that they insist on including with every piece of hardware they sell.  They claim support for p2pool, and even have a forked repository with some code - that hasn't been touched since 2014 and didn't work when they released it.

If only more people saw the light and pointed their hash away from this (and other big, bad-for-bitcoin pools) and took a chance on the smaller ones like mine.  I manage to include a full set of transactions in every block and am consistently benchmarked either right ahead of, or right behind kano and -ck's pools in terms of block propagation speed across the network - both of whom's pools also always include a full transaction set and are completely verified.

So, take up the call and point your gear away from these greedy, bad-for-bitcoin pools and point it to a smaller pool.  Help the little guys grow.  Help decentralize the network.  Help Bitcoin.

Jonny's Pool - Mine with us and help us grow!  Support a pool that supports Bitcoin, not a hardware manufacturer's pockets!  No SPV cheats.  No empty blocks.

Please move your machines over to Bitminter:).  Ive been monitoring his site for the last month.. No restarts.  Steady block finds.. And they have been mining since 2011
Here is the thread.. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=788753.0..  I promoted kano pool for a long time but i feel he has grown close to capacity.  Having to restart the servers often.. (not that it effects performance of block finds but it does disconnect miners).  Bitminter is currently 4.4 petahash and could use a nice boost like kano has received in the past couple months.  Need to keep supporting the small pools and help them grow.. they are the ones that are including the transactions.. Sadly Antpool has their head so far up their ass that they no longer see the light of day.  If you look here this is what pisses me off with all the politics being unnecessarily brought into bitcoin.. If antpool would just fill all their blocks they mined empty in the last week alone it would make up 45000 transactions at 1800 trans per block.https://btc.com/en/stats/pool?pool_mode=week. antpool mined 25 empty blocks.>  ANTPOOL needs to figure out how to fill their blocks or they have to drop their share of the network since its crippling it  Let us not forget the network is only as strong as its weakest link!!!.. All the bickering and bs about needing larger blocks isnt necessary if the big players on the network did what they are required of to participate.> Soon id say we should start talking about how to reject empty blocks when the mempool has any transactions.> Problem solved.  No need for a block if their isnt anything new to add to the blockchain.

Antpool get your shit together!

Best Regards
d57heinz

Edit looking here i notice a trend of antpool finding more and more empty blocks.. Over three hundred in the last 3 months.> Pathetic!!!   More than enough to cover the backlog and then some .... WTF

start here https://btc.com/en/stats/pool?pool_mode=month3 and click your way down to 24 hour and watch the percentage of empty blocks rise!!

and btcc also starting to trend upwards.. both of them avg under 800 kb a block.
Pool   Hash Rate Share   Hash Rate   Blocks Found   Empty Blocks Percentage   Avg. Block Size (Bytes)   Avg. Tx Fees Per Block (BTC)   Tx Fees % of Block Reward

Mine at Jonny's Pool

d57heinz, Antpool is the worst offender of empty blocks in the entire bitcoin world.  I started a thread months ago about empty blocks and back then called out the big offenders.

Either Antpool doesn't have the talent to fix the problem with their pool, they don't give a shit about it, or both.  People need to stop mining here and point their hash somewhere else.  bravo-mining.com could use the influx of hash.  BCMonster is another pool looking for miners.  DrHaribo's pool is a great recommendation as well.  Don't forget mmpool and of course kano's pool.  So many good choices for people...

Jonny's Pool - Mine with us and help us grow!  Support a pool that supports Bitcoin, not a hardware manufacturer's pockets!  No SPV cheats.  No empty blocks.
