Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

looking at the volume, i'm really anxious what will happen in the next few days. will it get ugly?

vol is low because everyone is out and about celebrating Xmas.

the fact we haven't seem someone try to take advantage of this and sell a bunch to push prices lower, would seem to say, no sellers are trying to manipulate the market down, they simply want to sell their bitcoins at the best possible price ASAP.

Even market manipulators need to take a holiday! Cheesy

But really, what we're seeing is people continuing to buy BTC and few large holders dumping occasionally.  Eventually, the large holders who want to sell at sub-$15 will be satisfied and people will continue to buy which will result in an uptrend.

Recent market behaviour is quite bullish in my opinion. Low volume, major difficulty in getting new fiat money to the exchanges for almost a week, and no crash. Stability instead.

I'm expecting upward movement once pending transfers start flowing in to the exchanges.

am I mistaken or are these walls pretty high and close together for a non-mtGox exchange? (that spread is €10.11 <-> €10.19 btw)

Huh please explain!

In many countries the last day that bank transfers between banks moved anywhere was Friday. Here in Finland tomorrow, Thursday, is the first bank day after the long weekend. This is the longest bank transfer break in the history of Bitcoin I think, since none of the Christmas days were during a weekend.

My forecast, scattered dumps will provide a slow slide down, until we reach 12.50  ... could take months ... Cheesy

for anyone who actually trades with my "hit and miss forecasting" i recommend holding your short even passed 12.50... just wait for me to call bottom  Wink

and realize that this mid term short position we have taken is quite risky...

Interpretation:
"I nor anyone knows where we're going short term"

I say holiday rally, maybe up to recent highs of 13.80

then come beginning january dip to mid 12's, the come ASIC's right before and as shipments announced the price spikes near $14-$15; dip. spike volatile for few months

WALL PIC PLEASE

lol. newsletter wars: Adam (down) vs. s3052 (probably up), result: sideways.

you guys should think about synchronizing your "forecasts" for increased leverage and maybe critical mass.

When everyone wants it to go up and expects it to it will; until a critical mass of people want to take profits Smiley

Thank you Cheesy For my part, and I guess I'm not the only one, it's a breath of fresh air to hear an analysis like that about which we can have great confidence Wink
