Going to ask this one is giving me hard time, yellow number + i see the hz gets blue, anyone know why it is ? and were its located in the box?
i'm going to put this out there now: if it's hashing at a good rate, don't look too deeply into the ASIC stats. the SP31 i received today has a bunch of low volt ASICS, but it's still performing at 4.7TH/s... if i wanted to, I could gradually up the voltages and get them to sit green but as far as i'm concerned, there is no need - it's performing 200TH/s above advertised spec. i'm presuming it's probably just the ambient temperature in which i'm running it. i wouldn't be overly concerned if I were you, however, I know Phil likes to go in depth, so he may be able to assist if you really want to get deep into the rabbit hole. yes mines at 4.741TH so I'm not even going to look at it for a while have you estimated when we'll need to downclock? (i clearly have nothing better to do on a thursday night after watch some crap football) Mines not in the UK so will be a different date to yours ah, cool, is it with toomins?

Perhaps, adjusting power is easier for SP30-31, otherwise there are too many chips to individually adjust.

Yep, keep it simple ... always the best way.

once i get it in the unit, i'll dabble, i think i'd go with Zvi advice, even though it may take longer i reckon i'll get better results.

hmm, i'd offer but i fear Devon is a tad of a long drive in this weather.
7 hrs 47 mins ... 461.3 miles apparently. The two SP20s I have underclocked also show a few yellow numbers but the stats cost per Ghs is good. what I have found is if every asic is yellow under clocked you have reached the low point of the miner's ability to underclock. It won't restart until you raise the volts a bit. Is it bad to have yellow stats. My miner is jumping between 600-597 watts and 1160-1168 gh/s but all my frequencies are yellow. Should I be concerned?

Should I be concerned? no, SP-Tech software is exceptionally well built with safety in mind and built to make sure they have a great shelf life to outlive most other miners. the yellow ASIC stats are nothing to be worried about but out of curiosity, can you advise what PSU you are using?

By the way I can quite go that low 631w 1189gh or 622w 1183gh is my best so far.

This is what mine's running at now... not really underclocked but in Eastern Canada, my SP20 is also serving as a space heater at the moment.. With the offset of me not paying for electric heat.. it's like a win/win.. heh

I think its a Revolutionary 1000 watt. Not sure as I dont have it in front of me.

I will check the watts tomorrow as I don't have the miner here and see if the watts have creeped up at all. The numbers I gave you was about three hours of run time. Here are my settings if they help.
Set your fans to 80 unless you are in very cold place or in economy mode Fan Speed 50
Set your starting voltage no more then 10 mv under your stable working voltage (from ASIC stats page) Start Volts Unit 1(0.58-0.80) .625 Start Volts Unit 2(0.58-0.80) .625 Start Volts Unit 3(0.58-0.80) .625 Start Volts Unit 4(0.58-0.80) .625 Set your Maximum voltage to 0.790 for maximum mining or less for economy mode Maximum Voltage (0.580-0.790) .630 Set PSU power to 120 and let the system learn the actual PSU limit. Max PSU Power Unit 1 (70W - 288W) 180 Max PSU Power Unit 2 (70W - 288W) 180 Max PSU Power Unit 3 (70W - 288W) 180 Max PSU Power Unit 4 (70W - 288W) 180

yeah that is a good unit. some just won't go that low. I have one that gets to 4x .62 with .625 as max other findings with the five are the gear likes watts at 4 of the same 150, 160, 170, 180 ,190 ,200 better then mixed numbers say 180 ,179 ,177, 176. But like gpu mining there are differences miner to miner.

I finally got one of these SP20's ordered up! I hope it lives up to Philip's praises I was hoping that I had a single PSU to run it, but now I am not so sure? I have several LEPA 1600's sitting around and some Corsair 1200AXi's. I suppose maybe dual CX750's would do the trick. I got my SP20 last month and have been running it on 2 CX750M's. Let me know if you want me to try any settings with it before deciding which power supply you are going to go with. We're getting the SP20 tomorrow and I plan on using 2 CX750M's as well. Will it power an SP20 at the stock rate? What are the default settings of the miner? I'm assuming the full 1600-1650 GH/s. Power consumption is not a problem we live in an all inclusive apt . I would like to try and get the most I can SAFELY out of the machine if that means underclocking it so it runs at say 1500 GH/s that's perfectly fine. What is the max safe setting of watts per channel? 240? What about voltage? What's the default?

Yes, no problem, one of mine was running on two CX750Ms at full blast ... until I saw the light and under-clocked it.

One for now as a test. We're running out of plugs . At least electricity is free so its all profit which helps alot. Right now we have 3 S3+'s plus a gridseed black and a couple of blades(35MH/s total) which with the death of scrypt, are basically useless but we're selling them so we didn't lose anything. We have a friend in the building which says we can load up her apartment with them as long as we pay the internet which is a good deal. I live in Toronto and there are alot of apartments that are all inclusive(free heat and electricity) so eventually we'll just rent another apartment as it's way cheaper than hosting and we can live in it. We'll buy another 2 at the end of February. Since most N. American outlets are 15A(15A x 120 Volts = 1800watts), we have to plan a little what goes where. We are getting 2 power supplies in case we have to split the plugs, ie one power supply on one plug and another power supply on a different plug as right now all the miners are in the apartment and we have other crap like TV's, and computers. I may slightly underclock so that it sits around 1500-1600 GH/s just to be safe. Thank god it's winter as all these miners really pump out the heat we have the door to the balcony cracked a bit and it's still toasty. All temps are good though as the miners sit next to the balcony door. Edit: My supplier has 2 Thermaltake SP750P's instead of the corsairs which is slightly cheaper with the same rating. Good power supplies, have one of them in my converted fileserver with an i7 and GTX660 all overclocked with zero problems after a year of heavy gaming and some GPU mining for tests. Same rating as the Corsairs, 80Plus bronzes so I think we'll be good to go and save $30 total to boot. Only bitch is it's not modular, comes with 4 PCI-E rails but we only need 2, oh well I guess thats what zipties are for. May get a price on a evga 1300G2 just for fun and less headaches. What are your settings, fan speed and Hashrate?

I've been going back and forth on whether to order these or the antminer s4.. My main concern has been the power supplies.. I have a couple of evga 1300 g2's.. I'm assuming you can run one of the sp20s on one 1300, but what kind of speed do you get and will the cabling on the g2's handle the constant load.. Im running 240v.
PSU would be fine, although as most people its unlikely you'll be running at max clock. There are sweet spots and lower noise at other clocks.

Going to do my last psu test on the low end. I will test a seasonic 760 watt platinum psu today. early tests are good so far!
Need to be taking hash rates at the pool, although these are pretty good at reporting correctly, it still makes a difference.
