I guess people get tired of updating, but i think that is the cost of progress.

You can earn BCR by

1) Mining
2) Running a BN
3) Bidding
4) Working

How many can make the same claims?

@hack_

Thanks for the info. Never knew it actually got implemented. I'll be honest. I only look at the thread once a week or two with all the issues I am having under Windows. Which is ironic because I never had any issues up until version 0.30.17.5 or abouts there with any wallets.

I just ran the last Windows version with the last bootstrap that @bitcreditscc posted and I am at about 12 hours later and only synced at block 72655 and 37 weeks behind still.

I have no idea what the change that was so drastic that started causing these issues but it has been a pain in the rear. I think I have one bank node that has not been started in over 5 months now.

If you are going to leave your BTC on an exchange please send it to this address instead 1GH3ub3UUHbU5qDJW5u3E9jZ96ZEmzaXtG, I will at least use the money better than someone who steals it from the exchange. Thanks Wink

I find that extremely strange. You are doing it wrong. If you bootstrap from the version i linked, then you should sync in under ten minutes.

maybe you didn't uncompress it correctly?
I'm a windows user, winrar for everything, had used bootstrap.dat or plain data contents for a bootstrap, downloaded from bcr's link and uncompressed the zip...... wtf do i to with these 10 .7z files, now what?  Cheesy ......... I had to ask, turns out those .7z files were part files wich uncompressed will give you the data contents....... oh and btw winrar handled the 7z parts just fine, it just wasn't assigned that extension.
TL;DR I'm an idiot  Grin

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=896133.msg13215645#msg13215645  this is the link to the latest bootstrap...

the boostrap is a 7z zip file, you can use winrare or 7zip to extract the 3 folders made from the multiple zip files.
so to run like normal in your data directory..
 delete everything EXCEPT:
bitcredit.conf
miningkeys.dat
wallet.dat

then add the 3 folders from the bootstrap

(make a backup of your wallet.dat)

this should sync rather quickly. confirm your synced height with chainz.

persoanlly i have an issue where if i close the wallet it will not sync on restart. a fix was implemented but i still have issues with this.  since you have a banknode you can mine. im not sure exactly but i believee at this time you can only mine 1 of 40 blocks. so if you solve a block your miner will automatically turn off in the wallet. youll have to wait for time to pass before turning it back on or the wallet will crash.
if you havent banknode minded before, copy the bcr address of your banknode and paste it into a text file in your data directory and rename it "miningkeys.dat"

*in the time since i posted this i was able to sync fresh.

I just redownloaded and unzipped it with winrar and I don't get 3 folders. This is what I get:

Inside the blocks-master folder are a total of 10 files. I have downloaded the bootstrap from 3 different computers and get the same thing. As you can see the blocks-master.zip is about 199 MB. Should there be more in this zip file?

EDIT: This is what I see in that folder

yeah i had the same problem, half the time it unzipped into the same zipped folder structure. not sure if proletariat can shine some light into it with winrar steps.

try unzipping the 10 files or the first of the 10 not the folder theyre in

I think they need to be renamed because when I click I only get an option to rezip them. If I take the last extention off (.001, .002, etc) then they turn into a zip file.

with winrar it doesn't need to be renamed... you have to open winrar first then navigate to the folder with the 10 7zs files, then click on ONE OF THOSE to view its contents, then click on extract files on winrar.

That's what I mean. I don't have an option to unzip:

You can see here is the option to unzip:

And if I rename (drop the 00.1) then it turns into a zip. Only problem I don't know what files go with what. As I would have to also rename the files since they can't be the same.

look at my post above..... start with bcr's link, right click extract content, youll get 10 files.... good. now open winrar from the start menu not the right click context dialog. Winrar will show you a folder view - navigate to the folder where you extracted the 10 7z files and click on anyone of those and winrar will you you its contents then just drag its contents out of there to your desired folder or click on "extract to"

Stupid question because I get the Winrar Diagnostic error: Can not open file.

Does it work with the Evaluation Copy (yeah I am cheap Smiley )  I did the Extract to and tried to drag the contents but it just left them zipped.

Maybe I need to try winzip or it could just be I am having operator error (in layman terms I am an idiot).

If we get some extra time (not likely)
it'd be nice to get some displayed info for miners solo mining. Ideally it could show you the keys your working with. (either autodetect or you could add more) then it could show you whether the key is available to be mined against. and if not how many blocks til its available. if none are available it would turn off the miner and when any become available it turns back on to the last known thread setting.

also @ hack_ when your using external miner and you solve a block within the last 40.. does it bork your wallet or no.
