3299 plus shipping  and   it needs 3 evga 1300 psu's >>>>>> a guess

In the USA any gear over 2500 for import is a hassle.   so if this is the new gear and it is 3299 plus 100 to ship  it is 3399.

I can't use it.  And it will be really fucking loud.

won't matter for home users only will work in places with 2 or 3c kwh elec data halls at best and likely like most bitmain products over priced from the get go
and price drops just behind what it is practical to ever make ROI imho

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

what is sad is I could probably run the beast in my basement already have 2 titan(s) at 2500 watts....don't care about the noise in that I'm mostly on 2nd floor bedroom etc
no one else in the house (large house)

cooling might be an issue right now the below arrangement of a shutter exhaust fan works well and a pusher fan (see my imgur pics of rig below) both those fans use 10 buck
usd a month in elec or 20 bucks total well worth the cost

my setup

http://lostgonzo.imgur.com/

but again using 3300 usd as a price and the gh and watts and 0 % for the pool and 13c kwh ...main it is an ugly ugly return on www.tradeblock.com calculator

but even it you did take a chance on this toy that is a lot of elec costs a month and heat on top of the cost of the unit.....summer hard to move that much heat
and no idea what the temp would be for such with the two titans it gets to 90F in basement on near 100F days with the fans (which always run full out 24/7)

winter you may get a lot back in gas heat...in my case with 1 titan I got back 35 bucks a month on budget in gas savings

but my elec costs at 13c kwh for this would be at 3436 watts is about 321.61 usd per 30 days for electric OUCH! add the fans make it an even 350 more or less usd a month

and i'm assuming 3300 for the unit more then likely it would be much more then that

no way in any form does this work for using in any manner data hall or home

hell I'd have problems buying the 3 psu's for the beast and paying electric etc if I won the thing in a contest!!!! and it was completely FREE!!!!

oh well it is asic porn at least Smiley

Ya'll need to start using ºC man.... What's up with all the ºF sillyness?

Granted, they used the exact same price i predicted here, which is all in all suspicious, and having just 2 units available has all kind of red flags over it... please, anyone reading this, don't buy it until we have confirmation from the horses' mouth that this is official.

ACK! showing my low class 'American-ness' ACK!

whatever it does not pay for sure at 13c kwh that is for sure Smiley

19000 Yuan which is approx US $ 3060.00 then add shipping for 11KG (and taxes)
http://shop.bitmain.cn/goods.php?id=47

That made me think .... one module at US $ 1020 plus shipping ..... 2.5TH/s @ 1145W per module ..... can anything be read from the pricing of the used S5's?

I'll give up trolling the same time you do Wink

In all seriousness, though, I think what can be legitimately inferred is, that you should buy up the used S5 stock while it's available if you're interested in home mining, because shit's gonna get more expensive for the next little while, and screw you if you're not running 240V circuits.

So, just detailing the photos now i have some comments:

  • What happened with the monolithic heatsink design? Why start using off the shelf heatsinks with these? are these a low production run?
  • At 75w max rating per PCI-e connector, those hashboards are bound to consume 225w each. There are 3 boards per unit, reaching 675w per unit. That would make the upper consume bound 2075w!!!! How are you running it on ~3400w? wouldn't this be overspeccing the connectors and probably lead to burnt plastic casings? (not that this hasn't happened before, the S5 is overspecced as well)

The figures are showing what the S5 "should" have been producing from the BM 1384:- 0.45 W/Gh

While the S5 could have been more efficient, I don't really think we can complain.  An S5 is pretty much worth the same as when they were first available in January; anyone who bought and held them has really made out.

This is not the first network plateau, nor the last.  The coming changes will be less and less with each generation; and miners will hold their value more and more.
