"In a nutshell, the network works like a distributed timestamp server, stamping the first transaction to spend a coin. It takes advantage of the nature of information being easy to spread but hard to stifle." -- Satoshi

Let's put it this way right: If by 2020 you aren't near a millonaire, something wrong happened. If by 2025 you aren't a confirmed millonaire, civilization collapsed.
well, that would mean too many civilisation collapses should happen already. We will see where the mass adoption is 5 years from now, but it won't be the end of the world if it doesn't happen.

Mining might become a beast that upends things if it hasn't become more of a success in 5-10 years. They'd need to be making more from transaction fees by then. That'll either require a load more volume or crippling fees. Perhaps there'll be machinery that solves that.

by the way things are, I see most are just trying to cash out with their current bitcoin since they sense the value will drop again.

I say hold, and then sell it when there is a bitcoin event that holds that certain price.

I don't think I'll ever sell my bitcoins.  I'll just buy stuff with them.

Well it depends on the persons situation, but I say most cause people prefer cash to pay a phone bill or other types of bills.

If we could pay in bitcoin with our bills I think most would. I personally would be cashing out most of my bitcoin which I have already done and been buying gold to hedge, cause I predict in speculation that bitcoin will still be $200ish and Id be buying with the interest I accumulate.

Yes this is why it is going to be difficult for it to rise far without some good news pushing that rise, i to can sense people just wanting to get their money back and the whales are loving this. We have people who this owes 500 - 1000+ as you must know there are going to be so many cashing in along the way.

I really can't see just 100 bitcoins making you a millionaire op i can see 500-1000 by 2020 so get trading, working, buying if that is the goal you have. I would just be happy it was a payment method well known and wanted that is all that matters really.

I imagine the chances of it making you a millionaire is quite high, at some POINT before 2020. But it might fluctuate a lot still, and perhaps you won't remain a millionaire.

In fact, I believe that if you trade smartly (luckily) you can probably become a multi-millionaire (maybe even a low-decamillionaire) by 2020.

The odds would point towards ending up with nothing if you're taking risks with a large amount. If you have a small and brave trading stash then you might end up with a nice bonus.

True, chances are we'll have peaks of really super high prices.. but who has the balls to sell? you may percieve it as the top, but maybe its the tip of the iceberg and you sell at 10K when it was going 20K so to speak.

In the galaxy (maybe far far away in time and space)

"It is the year 1006 ABC (after block chain) or 3015 according to the old calendar (AD) that is becoming popular again.
The merger of man and machine is complete.
No longer individuals have to experience death as their neural network is being constantly backed up and stored for possible restoration after an accident.

Young Tith IV is leaving to form a new colony on Uruth, a newly terraformed earth size planet 30 light years away.
As has become a custom over few hundreds of years, Tith will carry with him a new sidechain worth ten thousand bits (million satoshis), an unimaginary large sum that would be required to jumpstart the mining economy on Uruth. Once on Uruth, smaller denominations for the local economy will be circulated.

A parting ceremony and the retirement of the funds from the Earth based blockchain would be attended in person by at least a million citizens of Argoa, a sea steading community which is financing this particular colony, and is expected to be watched by more than 100 billion individuals all over the solar system. After all, such event happens only once a year when a new colony is initiated and funded.

We have more than a billion planets to our disposal in this galaxy alone and need to proceed cautiously as to not deplete our precious capital. We have time."

Ha, well I think maybe that a hypothetical collapse of civilization or the economy as we know it (which I don't think will happen) would give Bitcoin quite some support, it's independent of political and economical influences to an impressive degree, after all!
