Anyone think we need a new logo?

I'll give 50 CBX to the best logo anyone can come up with, whether the dev team uses it or not.

Current logo looks either like the end of a penis, or the view from a voyeur toilet spy cam. Never liked it.

So... 50CBX for a bit of logo fun?

I didn't quite see it like that (!), but why not modernise the logo to make it reflect a whole financial system rather than just a 'coin'.

I wanted to be platinum instead of the usual gold for Vault 3.0.0 - we can still incorporate the idea of platinum in a more corporate looking logo.

A friend is interested to help out, thanks to your generous offer...

PS. 日本からの人々、私はあなたの返答を待っています。

A new logo could be interesting, I will put in 50 CBX on this as well...

Nice one Elambert!

I like the idea of platinum over gold. Logo needs to be much simpler and easier on the eye.

Maybe one of you could drop a thread into the altcoin bounty section?

Posted the bounty here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2619125.msg26648841#msg26648841; may the best logo win!

Roadmap 2017-2018 status report!

Latest progresses include the following:

- we added the Bootstrap loading tool directly in a Vault menu; also we provided a default-checked option that automatically download the bootstrap upon launching Vault 3 for the first time was added to the installer.

- masternode operations are being tested internally, making sure that no more than 125 BPN's can operate at any time, done through "mutex",

- we are applying final touches to dialog text strings in 4 languages,

- most of the development work is carried out in Linux environment, we still have to succesfully compile the new codebase Vault in Windows/MacOs environments; this is an important next step.

No new major problems have been encountered yet with new codebase, you will see Vault 3.0.0 pop on and off at the blockexplorer as we are testing each new feature.

Thanks Ben, and the rest of the team!

Sounds like a release could be just around the corner.

Great news, looking forward to the new vault!

Is there somewhere I can read about mutex? I don't understand what it is, but I want to.

info given by alex

Hi,
In our context we gonna use it as a lock.
It's a kind of distributed lock that all peers gonna be aware of it's state.
The purpose is to know how much lock is placed, each time a masternode start it is closing a lock and when the masternode stop it open the lock. There will be a limited amount of lock available.
In order to have this distributed and sync through all peers, we will use a block to open and close lock.
Usually mutex are used in multithreading environment to avoid having two threads editing the same variable address at the same time.

Thanks for digging that out! I get it now. It's pretty cool, I guess there is no other coin with something like this?

Fantastic stuff Smiley

Did the memory leak issue when staking get fixed? Its a very old issue however it would be a real shame if its still in there upon release...

Yes, this was a tough issue with Vault 2; being a completely new codebase for Vault 3, so far it is running at a stable 500 megs RAM requirement. Public testing will be the final test to positively conclude if this problem is finally eradicated, but I'm pretty sure we won't see it again.

A Raspberry PI solution is also part of the Roadmap for 2018... a fullblown Vault with staking capability running on your own PI, accessed remotely across the web in a nice GUI (see item 3 of Roadmap https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=951753.0 ) - Like your own banking institution available from anywhere running in your house...
