What if the money was not actually stolen?
I was wondering who may have an interest in such a fiasco.
Looks like the title says: DO NOT KEEP YOUR MONEY ON AN EXCHANGE
What if the decentralized exchanges have prepared the hack?
This is nxt, bts, counter party, ripple, supernet. Something missing?
All of these have a huge interest in the hack of BTER and other exchanges.
It's about a multipl of the amount which has now been stolen.
The money was stolen, is a cheap advertising campaign.
The decentralized Altcoins could have BTER also paid to empty the cold wallet.

What is new? Apart from the incomplete interface. Withdrawal of BTS is still unavailable. If you want to re-open, allow others who doesn't want to come with you withdraw.

Can anyone explain what btc-b is? I did a Google search and found not a lot. It's not something I've heard of. How would it be beneficial to users?

btc-b most likely stands for the bter btc. It is the debt they owe to their clients who lost their bitcoins in the robbery. It seems that they are going to trade this debt like a currency.

Trade btc-b is intresting idea. I belive a lot of people would sell dept for 50% of it nominal price and proly lower. Bter itself could rebuy it for 25%-50% and reduce them dept.

Well, it's all question of future. Anybody could withdraw single altcoin from exchange? As i understand right now formally open LTC, DRK, BLK, Nxt assets and proly some more, but anybody recived requested withdraw?

15 minutes ago I tried to deposit 12 doges into my wallet at bter. Coins didn't arrive yet, though the transaction had been confirmed within minutes. So deposits are not working now either, and dogecoin withdrawals are also still disabled.

So it seems they are still working for enable the deposit & withdrawal option. I hope that no one will deposit altcoins in their exchange, at least withdraw first your coins and maybe we can start to "use" again bter.

They are not running away. I am amazed.

Why would they run away? A-holes stole over 7000 BTC, they will reopen their exchange and people as stupid as they are, will still continue trading at their exchange.

I don't think that a lot of people will use bter.com again, only who have believed at the story of the "hacked cold wallet". However news about the withdrawal?

I will use them again.

Are you sure at 100% that you will use them again? I don't believe you  Huh, that's very strange. Only a "crazy" person will use bter again as cryptocurrency exchange. This is very insane, and maybe will cause another "loss" to all the customers; however at the end it is your money and the finale choice is yours.

Good luck.

Well, they this is their 2. giant loss. They managed to survive both (at least that's how it seems like right now).
Meaning they are at least trying hard. We don't know what would happen if the same would happen to Bittrex, hitbtc, Polo etc.

So while they are incompetent and a mess in public relations, they are at least honest and durable.

POLO was hacked, Immediately emailed everyone and made good on it. get your facts straight before commenting on what you know nothing of.

BTW I have no stake in Polo I just correct where I see falsehoods.

I'm gonna buy a few with my now devalued dogecoins, provided the price of these tokens will be at 50% or below that of orthodox bitcoins.

"2. Bter trusts all the cold wallets to JUA.com for management, and JUA provides the enterprise- class crypto-currency storage service. Bter’s hot wallet services for crypto- currencies deposit and withdrawal shall be trusted to JUA.COM gradually."

What hell is JUA.com? Why Bter gave them all coins from cold wallet for 1000 btc? Bter do not know what means FULLY save cold wallet..? It is just offline server which never anyway connect to internet, not side company?? Why we should trust some unknown jua?

Hell i realy hope they will let me withdraw alt coins before give cold wallets away.

The cold wallet theme is frowned at here, so let it alone (whoever it may concern). Most obviously they trust their cold wallets to someone beyond bter since bter owners don't trust their own employees, while the cold wallet custodians provide insurance against coins being stolen.
