People are still investing in SDICE are getting about <20% return.  If asicminer keeps up at this sort of return your looking at 80%

My calculations are probably a bit little off, but to reach returns of 20% at this last div share price would need to rise to 9.9BTC or about there.

So compared to SDICE, there is a lot of upside if the divs keep around this level, and still some upside even if divs stay around 0.014.  At least for the next few years.

I made a doc here with my calcs: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aolrf3NsfbUrdExVWUNMUnZtQ21kQnZzQmFfRmc0WEE&usp=sharing

In the end, make your own mind up.

I have no idea why you would make that comparison. While both utilize bitcoin, they are completely different animals.

Competition heats up. Those bitfury / kncminer things look so legit, but question is why don't they mine it themselves, or selling share IPO crowd mining as asicminer instead of preorder scam crap. If they turn out real, what could be friedcat moves ?

I  just read the BFL for ASICMINER two pages ago and I would like to add my take on this. I got myself a BFL single 60GH for 18.2BTC with some of my ASICMINER "dividends" instead of buying more shares (of course I did with most of the rest of the divs!).

The idea was, as a miner, it doesn't matter how profitable ASICMINER as a whole it is just how much hashing power it provides per share. The extra point here is ASICMINER is increasing mining power per share, and doing it easier, faster and cheaper than other companies do. Plus the hardware sells of course.

Now as a diversification attempt I got myself 18.2BTC/60GHps=3.296703297GHps per BTC, It was a gamble on the future that BFL would not be "that" late that 1 share of asicminer would reach 3.296703297*2.4=7.912087912 GHps before the mining device arrive and I start hashing with it, of course I accounted for the divs happening in that time.

If this gamble were in my favor it would be more profitable that I got that miner instead of buying "more" asicminer shares with those 18.2BTC.

This is what I did. Please tell me where I am fundamentally flawed and I deserve to be "deeply fried" <-(got the reference Wink)

Question: The dividend transaction

http://blockchain.info/tx/0c0285296a17750cbaaf4ade4882020d66b0d2878c1188c0ef8448a6814aa030

is still not confirmed after many hours. Can't ASICMiner just include these transactions in their own mined blocks and force the confirmations sooner? Why wait?

My understanding is that coins from new blocks can't be spent until 100 other blocks are generated. You can't issue confirmations for your own blocks, basically.

Maturity was the issue the last two weeks, but not now. Now the problem is just the mess of the satoshis transactions being rejected due to the low fee and low outputs, and causing a horrible chaining of unconfirmed transactions...  Undecided

Really, please, stop the shatoshis madness...

Bitfury are also producing hardware for 100TH so they will be mining, in a way. They are expected to test their engineering batch next week.

friedcat has already announced (look it up in his digest) that AM's next-gen will be 65nm as well, though it is not publicly known how far down that track AM are (if it gets deployed straight to the solo mine it might remain a secret for some time).

This is the first transaction of a chain of 7 non-standard unconfirmed transactions which has to be confirmed before the dividends can be confirmed. That payment script is a mess, and the satoshis are making a storm of dust.  Undecided

Is there any way you can get a loan before tomorrow so you don't starve to death?  Maybe go on welfare for the night?

what if you live dividend to dividend and a delay in confirmations means no funds for rent.

Have some sympathy please.  He probably just sold his kids LAST 8 BALL of crack just to buy asicminer shares and he's desperate for just a bump.  Some peoples dividends disappear right up their nose, so 6/7 days they are wiggin out.   it's NOT their fault!  Roll Eyes

good point, i actually thought of this to be the reason i want to invest in asicminer and bitcoin, so i can live off dividends,
i guess you have to take it into account, and have some reserve ready for rainy days,

Why are they being chained in this way? Couldn't the satoshis be sent as their own transaction and the payments sent as another non-chained transaction? I have received my satoshis about 100 blocks ago but not the payment yet... looks like it will take some time to process.

How do we know it is not a block maturity issue but instead the satoshis being rejected as spam due to 0.8.2? Thanks for the explanation!
