Also hosts MtGox.

That's quite funny, but as an investor, it would be nice to have some transparency.

It is a catch-22; we want transparency as investors, but any pictures of the actual data center also compromise security.

ASICMINER is already extremely transparent... we can watch all of their income on a minute by minute basis! IMO pictures of the datacenter would be really cool, but irrelevant for investors... and potentially helpful to competitors and/or malicious parties. I agree that a comment from them about physical datacenter security would be great.

That said, a statement such as "don't worry, we're aware of that, everything's ok" would be nice.
Too much of that and you run into BFL territory. I think board members are entitled to more transparency, but smaller shareholders should learn to not know everything - as long as you don't hear them panicking, you're probably ok - Friedcat coming by once a month for brief updates is very acceptable. IMO the crowd working itself into a mess of questions/doubts/requests: that's fine as long as it's within ourselves, but detrimental when directed at ASICminer.

There have been weekly updates on thursday or friday from the time the ASICs first came online until now, but I don't see one this week. Was it mentioned somewhere that updates are going to be monthly now?

Not without the dividend shrinking dramatically.

it will be lower for a few weeks, and that will definitely hurt share price.  The question, ultimately, is by how much.

I don't have many of my shares on the exchanges and don't really watch the share price as closely as many others (I only check 5x/day instead of 50), but I expect that the news that they will have an updated blade available for a lower price in a matter of weeks, combined with the update that generation two ASICs will be ready in the fall, should more than make up for the two to four weeks of potentially lowered dividends due to the temporary suspension of blade sales. At least, to any investors who are buying shares for any reason other than grabbing a few weeks worth of divs.

USB miner sales are slowing down.

Are you sure of that, or is that just your analysis? ASICMINER USBs are still the only retail ASIC anyone can order and get delivered right away, friedcat has starting advertising for them, and I know that there are at least a couple more companies gearing up to become ASICMINER resellers.

It is my analysis based on the revenues/sales from the past 2 weeks.

I agree, they are the only ASIC product you can get right now, but the demand seems to be getting a bit weaker at the current price.

I could be wrong, and if anyone wants to correct me with sales stats, I'd much appreciate it.

Thanks. You're probably right.

Hey guys what would be the fastest way to sell direct shares?

I have seen some auctions and they seem to go higher than prices at the exchanges.
Would you recommend selling through the forum or the exchange.

Depends... do you have >100 shares? sell on the forum via auction.  <100 move to a PT and sell on there.  Really if you want to be nice to friedcat... you would move them to a PT as it is less work for him...

this is good, asicminer is keeping btc decentralized,

they obviously have enough power to have 99% of network, they just not doing that, because that wouldnt be fair to the rest of bitcoin network,

us shareholders have nothing to worry about because that just means more dividends from hardware sales Smiley

You have got to be joking.

Tell you what, if you think that's the truth, I'll buy ASICMiner puts from you. Strike is 2.5 BTC, expiration 90 days, 0.14 BTC premium. Deal?

The observed drop of AM hashrate can only mean that the company is doing something. And I'm always happy with AM doing something, whatever that something is:)

If Friedcat filled a Super Soaker with gasoline, sprayed down the datacenter and lit it on fire, that'd make you happy?

Yeah, probably. I invested in the team behind friedcat/ASICMINER/Bitfountain, not in the 20/30TH. If they were to all-of-a sudden become irrational, you may as well burn my investment anyway.

I don't know if this has been said already, but my suspicion is that friedcat is cutting back on the TH in anticipation of the upcoming difficulty increase.  Throttling back now for 24 hours could help increase profits over the next difficulty period if difficulty is kept at reasonable levels.

No because if network TH suddenly rises then the adjustment of difficulty (that looks at last 2015 blocks blocks generated) will just compensate, it does not look at the last 2 weeks, it looks at the last 2015 blocks generated
