So what happens with this scam is the operator plays the game themselves either manually or with a bot that stops the moment any idiot actually puts money into it.

The operator has 0 risk of loss for each bet due to the way this game operates.
This is not gambling, this is a scam for idiots.

Do you honestly think the ponzi threads posted here are comparable to nigerian email scams and indentity thieves or are you just grasping at straws to try make a point? With these ponzi's you are told out straight its a ponzi. You know (and I did when I put money in one) that there's a chance I won't get it back. You're gambling on whether or not other people decide to invest after you, its not a scam. Even all the transactions are visible to help you make up your mind if the ponzi is slowing down etc.

I think if you do the traces on the transactions, you'll see the money is just going in circles.  I did this on one of them just to satisfy my curiosity.

Yes.  Ponzi scams are a felony crime.  Knowingly participating in them with the intention of making a profit is also a felony.  When they involve real money, people who turn a net profit on Ponzis often have their asssets seized to pay off those who took a loss.  They cause incalculable economic damage, and that is why they are illegal.

They are as bad, or worse, than Nigerian email scams.  Anyone who participates in one knowingly is a criminal himself, whether or not they've gotten around to enforcing the law yet.

What blows my mind every time i visit the gambling section why they allow a flood of ponzi sites to clutter the first page.  Why would they even allow people to promote SCAMS on their forum?  I really do not understand this at all.

To me it seems like everyday there are more and more of these ridiculous ponzi scams.  It becomes brutal to swift through them all so you can find a thread worth reading.

Its makes me question whether the mods are in on these ponzi schemes to allow a blatant scam to be promoted.

The admins have already ruled that ponzi's with their own website are perfectly fine for this section.  I don't know how to convince them otherwise, as several of us have made very convincing arguments about how they violate the spirit if not the letter of the "gambling" forum.  

I don't think that the ponzi games here actually fit into the law book definition of ponzi. Most games show all transactions and it's part of the game that new payments can stop at any time (and it's also obviously possible for the person that runs the ponzi to deposit themsevels in the beginning.) Non of this is hidden.

Well then how about making threats to the site ADmin, if they dont get rid or move them we can actully report the site for hosting illegal games.  They can lose there Hosting and they will have no choice to listen to us.  What do ya think?

Here's my problem: they aren't gambling.  Perhaps they are gambling in the strictest letter-of-the-law sense, but so is literally everything else in the world.  The gambling section should be for gambling games with well defined rules, payouts, and (ideally) are provably fair. 

Think about how it looks to someone just getting into bitcoins.  They come to the largest forum, and click on one of the largest sub-forums (gambling).  And oh look, it's 25% ponzis.  That's a very bad look, as ponzi's are universally reviled.  To the casual viewer, it looks like the only thing to do with bitcoins is funnel them into a ponzi.  It makes something that is already misunderstood by a large portion of the population look even MORE shady.

Anyway lets break it down, a gambling game has an average payout of around 95% or higher but individual payouts can range from x0 to x36 (using roulette as my example). A Ponzi's max payout is usually 80% (individual payouts being 1-7%) then they pack up and run, there is NEVER a payout greater than 100% just operators pretending to be players and their shills.

I actually agree with you that this sub-forum would be better without the ponzis. However, I am going to point out that you are wrong right here. Ponzi schemes payout more than 100% all the time. In fact, that is why they are so effective and alluring. The early investors pull out their money + profits and say "Look everyone! I made a huge return in barely any time!!" Then more people start investing and the whole thing falls apart once it gets too big because either A) The scheme operator decides he has made enough and runs off. B) Too many people cash out at one time. or C) Someone finds a way to prove that it is a ponzi scheme. .... Some of the "ponzi games" side step C by saying from the get-go that they are a ponzi, then they find ways to make A or B seem unlikely or impossible. The reality is of course that any ponzi scheme/game is going to end with some people getting burned.

The thing is that obviusly a site like that could never be good on the long run. unless they decide to stay forever and make an endless ponzi. I just gave my opinion and I never told anyone to invest. I was just reviewing the site because of the profit it gave me. There are many different sites that are really scam, and I don't know if this guy is going to run away or not, of course everyone should do the research, and if you trust go ahead, if you don't just stay out. However he is making refunds to other people and payments are still happening, and if you look closely the site is still working but it will need many more people to start clearing those payments. Just get me out of that list 'cause I have nothing to do there.

I really think OP got scammed, decided to cry in his own thread and start a "crusade" against ponzis. Good luck with that. Still I see no reason for him to insult other users of this forum and make lists of random people to support his claim.

It actually is technically defamation because it's a false statement intended to harm your credibility.  But honestly it seems like it's just an error of definition.  He's just using the wrong word.  A shill would be someone who is connected to the company and doesn't disclose it.  If he used a different word (say, "promoter" or "enthusiast") he'd be fine.

Well, that's what I think. I have no connection to the website, other than using the system and actually getting paid. I posted a review on that thread and that made me appear on that list, the same as others if you look up. This thread should be closed and erased, because he shouldn't be insulting and defamating other users randomly.

People should be allowed to have free choice but those sc.amming should be ostracised; allowing newbies to post ponzis games is too dangerous because they don't care about being ostracised thus my idea of a ponzi section where newbies can't post threads

It's not hard at all and multiple posts have been made in Meta regarding it but it's obvious that the enforcement done by the admin and moderators is limited to only spamming.

There seems to have been an overall reduction in ponzi posts though so either people are finally wising up to the scam or mods are finally moving the posts

I have been trying (at low amounts) those multiply your btc by x %, and have been paid every time. 

When it gets to far in the game people stop investing, and thus no payments get made, rarely does the ponzi owner make much of this game(the .0001 per transaction I think?)

I wouldn't consider that a scam at all, he paid several people but the people who invested too late didn't get paid and are upset(understandable)

I would consider a scammer to be someone who after 5 deposits didn't pay anyone, and is unseen again.
