Title: [ANN] [CAID] CoinAid - Pure POS 60% Per Year.......
Post by: crunck on September 05, 2015, 02:19:26 PM

CoinAid info can be found here : http://coinaid.co.uk/knowledgebase.php?action=displaycat&catid=2

CoinAidCoin [CAID] was created on the 5th September 2015

Its purpose in life at the time of creation is to replace the billing on www.coinaid.co.uk from BTC to CAID ( yes an ICO that will be usable immediately after the ICO finishes unlike others)

As it is a pure POS coin a 10BTC ICO was setup on yobit with the aim of raising funds to upgrade servers and add further tools and software to the CoinAid collection, these tools and software's would then be rented out and income secured from them.

The coin specs are :

Name: CoinAid
Ticker : CAID
Start with : C

ICO Volume : 100 000 000
Proof of Stake Reward : 60% Per Year
Coin Minimum Age : 1 Hour
Coin Maximum Age : Unlimited

RPCPort : 44322
P2PPort : 44233

All most as boring as you have become with your one liners in almost every ANN thread, quite what has happened to you this last year I have no idea, but you used to be a decent person to follow on here.

I'm sorry but the ANN doesn't really say much.. Its a Smiley in a mediocre paint job, an first aid sign and a few stars and its POS only..

What do you expect me to post here ?

"WOW can't wait for more info" ?? Why ?!

It IS boring !

But less boring than you guys launching your pure POS shitcoins.  How much is your ICO going to be?  How much quick and easy btc do you expect to make for cloning some open source software?

Yes it will be an ICO, I see no other way of getting a pure POS coin out there with a decent starting price.

I appreciate some here don't like that, and indeed I'm not a fan but as said, other than just giving them away, which will only ever mean they will be worth a couple of sat's only I have no other options open to me.

Plus what I have in mind will need a little investment.

Again I have not hidden behind a newbie coinaiddev account, and have full commitment to this project.

There will be lots more info to follow, that I am sure you will like..... well most of you :)

Too funny.  You guys come on here trying to get some easy btc for cloning some open source software and changing a few lines of thew code and you can't be bothered to come to the table ready to play.  It's always "more info to follow"  blah blah blah.  Why don't you get your shit together before you make an ANN?  The only thing to follow is which crap exchange is going to host your pathetic ICO.

Yes there is options , ico with POW would be fine , a least we would get to use our pol ops and equitment . Pure POS is making hard for anyone to mine anymore . Come on for crying out loud .

But if they let you mine you don't have to pay them btc for the coins which is the whole point of them launching the coin.  Sell them and keep the btc.

Yes I know this . But they still make money from their ICO and some get to mine , at least it gives 2 options for which route the investor wants to go .

anything with PoS im in but hate ico and sorry crunck some of your worked coins were total loss, i respect your work but pls do consider POW+POS+ICO should you want everyone happy. im sure you wont run away with 10-20BTC ICO. whatever would ppl opinion here there are few who will partake in ICO/POW/Trade :)

few words should you dont mind; once you takeover/help any coin in future pls be clear with your role so ppl will not invest heavy in the coin just because of your name.

rest wish you good luck and look forward to another endevour which started as shit & giggles but turned as save and gain.

What about your other takeovers/revivals ?! Don't you have enough coins yet ?

Other than my SandG and the soccercoin revival everything else has been handed back over to new devs in a better state than when I agreed to help.

What about CyberCoin? You took it over, but there is not much to see there up to now... Would be nice to follow on old promises before giving new ones... And whom it was handed over to?

Classsy wall, not seen one like that for a while.

Wow. Dev protects his alt. What? But, but, isn't that like taking it seriously?

Strange concept, it's almost as if Dev wants the coin to hold value.

Why is he not dumping?

///

Good luck, Dev, prove the wankers behind you can do what you want and are not there for their geeky boy amusement.

Yes, I will buy some of these coins.

Windows wallet has been added to the OP so you can all start staking, I am now moving the chain and will continue to do so until POS takes over.

I will alter the CoinAid platform when I get home from work today to accept CAID as promised, I'm a little in shock at the speed of this, and thought I had 5 days to get prepared so much so I didn't even buy any yet lol

The chain wasn't moving as no one had coins to POS and move the chain, I wasn't expecting it to sell out in 80 mins so went to bed lol

Anyway I now have a miner on it moving the chain until POS takes over, so everything should be ok :)

And thanks for buying into the concept

The floor trading price for CAID will be determined by the price the dev pegs CAID against the equivalent BTC price of a service. Introducing an alt for payment is most efficient with a service like in this case because the service provider can subsidize the input cost in the form of time. If it was goods, the initial losses in input cost would have been real in the form of cost of materials. A service that cost an equivalent of 0.1 BTC in the market must therefore be switched to 1,000,000 CAID to be equal to the ICO price of 10 sats. Any amount of CAID less than that for the service will increase the trading price and any amount more than that will take the floor price below ICO price. Supply could also play a role and lets assume most coins are staked and not many coins are available on the market and spekulators drive the price up - in this case if the price goes too high over the pegged price and it becomes more expensive to buy CAID, the consumer will go to a competitor for a similar service at the BTC price. If the price falls below the pegged price everyone will cash in their CAID for services and fall in line. If the dev differentiates its services through either time to market, quality or uniqueness, the price can go up because the increased price will reflect the premium consumers is willing to pay.

All else being equal, it therefore depends heavily on how much time and effort the dev will be willing and can accommodate to put in to service all the requests. Eg. for argument sake if 0.1 BTC is pegged at 1,000,000 CAID and all ICO is expensed on that service, he must have the capacity to service 100 requests. In reality that will not be maxed out at any time and it will probably end up at around 20 requests on average if you strip out staking and normal market speculation which will reduce the workload.

The inflation is on the high side but can be offset with higher initial adoption and if the dev has the resources to service the growth in requests in a timely manner.

Nobody's perfect ;) You might want to check your Trust...

yes i do this before and dont know tomatocage or this Person what he talks about in my single neg. Rating :-)

but my trust Rating cant be sooo bad . u allright host a few pools for my coins in the past
and u never take care of it :-)

ok Back to Topic  ;D  Caid Performs very good . i like Crunck .
so jump on the Train and buy some CAID at https://yobit.net/en/trade/CAID/BTC/ (https://yobit.net/en/trade/CAID/BTC/?bonus=QEOmT)

Wow, the inflation rate of 60% is very high. So there is no reason to hold the coin because the price should be fall very quick. How do you want to bypass this?

Here we go :)
I just know that someone will ask this :)
I know that in those days is not reasonable to support old OS but still, I have 50 wallets on it and all of them works. If they can work, and almost all of them are build on same principle, I was thinking that this one will work too.

Hm it was stuck in Processes so I needed to end complete process tree, now it works :)
Wonder why ppl use anything else than XP :P
Thanks :)
Edit:
@crunck don't waste time, now is ok. I think that problem is on first start when wallet creates needed files in appdata dir. If you stop it in processes and start over it runs.

Lots of hate on ol crunck here, at least in the beginning. I admit that I don't know many in crypto but from those I do know/know about, crunck seems to be one of the best in terms of trust and following through on his word. Need more like him, especially as devs.

Update:

I have switched my miner off now and POS has taken over flawlessly http://caid.miningalts.com

I have also changed all CoinAid pricing over to CAID on www.coinaid.co.uk

Have added CAID to cryptopia vote list ( currently pending)

so each stake brakes our block into 2 equivlant parts each time which reduces the stake reward and certainly pain in a$$ to manage it with coin control

Further update:

I am expecting ICO funds to be released to me before this weekend ( UK Time )
I will on this release purchase better spec servers for both my gaming network and my mining pool.

To get things moving this week end I will be offering 75% vouchers for most of my services, this I hope will generate sales and also get the coin and the website behind the coin noticed.

The chain seems to be moving nicely although I did have to start mining the zero blocks to kick start it again this morning, obviously the more people that stake this the easier the chain moves...

What will you do with the coins that were dumped on the buy wall? I hope you will keep them and try to achieve a higher price. When you destroy them then you won't have a lot of BTC and no CAID coins and then it looks for me that the project is dead. What do you think?

It was a 100% ICO, it sold out in 80 mins, even i missed it as I went to bed, I eventually bought into my own coin @12 so burn what ? I have nothing to burn!

What do you think?
its better to get those coins burned and lower the total supply

Get what coins burned ? There was none left the ICO sold out
the ones dumped in buywall

The coins sold to the buywall have to go somewhere... In most (or all?) other icos the exchange burned them.

Look I appreciate your a newbie but shit dude have you not paid attention to what went on ?

I put an ICO up for 100mil coins @ 10sats each.
People that's, you and me bought them all there was no extra/unsold/spare coins to burn ......

Now unless you want people that bought the coins to burn them then there will be no fire because there cant be....

@Dev

Basically the simple question is.

You gave Yobit all your premine coin and put it for sell at 10 BTC, now the buy wall is getting hit, meaning that Yobit will have not 10 BTC for you anymore but 8 BTC and 2000000 CAID coins. The question is will you destroy the coins that were sold at buy wall.

If not burned then you will have

8 BTC + all CAID coins that were sold at buy wall

if burned then you will have

8 BTC

and investors will have a higher % stake as those 2M coins will be burned by Yobit.

So which option will you take? Burn then or not when Yobit release your fonds in 2 days.

crunck, you really don't understand what placebo and altcoin11 are asking..?  :-\
Please pay attention to the last post from placebo, he explains it a little bit better there....

You don't have to burn those coins... You can either keep them or burn, its completely your choice, but just please let us know you understand the question... I guess, the more you delay with the answer, the more coins will be dumped into the buywall, as people are confused by your reaction to this question.

crunk i would suggest to hold them with you and use them in tipping bot or giveaways whatever you call those tacts to grab attention to coin. but pls do let us know the usage as you did in SANDG.

if you let them burn thn you would loose approx 2 btc funds and you would have to put back things from pocket to marketize and promote coinad

What would you like me to do with them ? I can do one of several things I can burn them, give them away perhaps use the "free coins" section on yobit, I could donate them to the SandG project and let them stake.

But what I will not do is hold them myself, that would be unfair.

So what would you all like to see me do ?

Thanks

I have added the voucher code CAID75 to the website www.coinaid.co.uk

If you are wanting to test/buy my services now would be the time to do it and pay just a quarter of the price.

I don't think using them for SANDG project will help this coin. It will help SANDG, buy will create an unnecessary sell pressure on CAID, which is definitely not what we want.

If the Dev doesn't want to keep them for himself, the best would be to use them for bounties. crunck, if there are some tasks you would like others to do (translations, PR, marketing, twitter campaigns etc), you could use those coins (kind of developers fund). part of that would be fair to keep for yourself, as you do a lot of work on the project too.. :)

What do you think?

Sounds reasonable to me, to be honest I don't really want to give them to SandG I would like to keep these as two separate entities if I can, but nether do I want people to think i'm taking the piss by keeping them.

I have plans but people selling into the buy wall is lessening what I will be able to do once the ICO funds are made available to me, quite why people want to buy in @10 on the ICO and then sell them back @10 is beyond me, but I guess that's the way the crypto world is.

But non the less I will be doing everything I can to make this coin work, and give the early adopters a chance to make a little along the way.

But back to your question/comment I think yes, give aways, and tasks sounds like a great idea.. and thanks for taking the time to suggest it :)

It is understandable that you don't get part 2 of an ICO since you also did not understand the basic principle of part 1 of an ICO. Part 2 works as follows: People dont care about your site or being able to pay with CAID even though it is a great and bold idea. It is all about quick profit. If the price does not immediately go up after an ICO ends, people get jittery and lose interest and then dump into the buy wall - this normally takes between 15min and a few hours. CAID saving grace is it is 100% buy wall meaning that people will stick around a little longer to see if the price goes up since there is enough to cover everyone. If it was not 100% buy wall the wall would have been gone long ago. If the price does not go up soon for some reason the wall should be gone just about right before the ICO holding period ends.

Correct. That is how it works. Now there is another ICO on Yobit, and people will dump CAID to join the new ICO and when the 4 days are offer, i'm even afraid that you will have a lose of 1 BTC (1 BTC that you gave to Yobit).

Its looking that way isnt it, I guess that teaches us NOT to do things right, I thought giving a 100% buywall was the correct and honest thing to do, and it was of coarse. But what reason is there for the shit ICO's to do it correctly when you end up losing in the end.

Still what ever happens I will be continuing with this, and I WILL make it work...

I agree. This coin is for running this project and needs to be managed accordingly. For that its a good thing to have a nice bag of coins at your disposal to run promotions and giveaways, make sure that enough coins are up for sale at any given time and as buffer for the casino games. At least in my eyes it makes sense to present these games 'live' so people can see what they could get for their own coins.

It is not your fault. You have great ideas and in principle there is nothing wrong with an ICO. It is because of all the ICO scams that people have zero tolerance for any risk. They work out their "insurance" (buy wall) and when there is no immediate profit they are not willing to take the risk and immediately cash in on their insurance. They probably say they are not willing to wait and see if you will deliver on your promise as statistics say your site will probably be gone in two days and your account become inactive, although that is probably not what will happen. The good guys always suffer because of the bad guys.

Well, it was the right thing to do so it's good to see you've done it. If the buy wall really gets eaten up because all the people just aimed for short term profit I think it would be OK to sell some of the rebought coins again. It's just more tricky to manage the market doing so given you don't want to hurt the coin.

I think this coin just lacks publicity. Some hype, or a campaign to let more people know about it.? We have here an honest and responsible Dev - an extremely rare thing in crypto nowadays. This fact alone should attract more people to the project.

Could anyone tweet about the coin, and how great it is, or maybe do some other way of promotion? I believe this coin and its Dev are worth it, and people will not be disappointed... Just need new investors to pickup the coins dumped by easy profit hunters participated in ICO...

A big thank you to ozboy2014 for coming up with this idea.

Original idea:
With the payment gateway that you have atm for the coin, can you customise it as a plugin for Joomla, Wordpress etc so business can actually whitelabel it for their own usage?

Answer is no I cant but that is what we have bounties for.

So the first bounty I will set once ICO is released will be for a wordpress plugin.

And thanks for the suggestion, keep them coming....

Today the buywall will be removed....I sadly think this coin will dump more after that moment.
Just like PURE did, the wall stayed all the 4 days, making support, the price didn't rise, and after the wall has been removed it dumped to 2.
Hope CAID will not do the same and in some way will rise, but, i'm not so confident with it....

Yes, it is a sad story, in fact, the owner didn't earn any money. Nothing!!! 1 BTC for Yobit for ICO listing, and currently only 3.2 left on buy wall, so only 2.2 BTC real profit. (at the moment)

The buy wall story is really not helping the coins, it was there to protect investors from scam etc, but now it is only there to allow investors to take a risk for pump and if no pump happens on the coin they dump it, cost $0 profit ??? %

everyone wants that from yobit ICOs thats why cheap ICOs sell fast and 100% wall to so people can get out fast if no pump

Yes, but what is considered to be the ICO end? Is it the moment when all coins sold out (4 days have already passed since that moment), or "ICO start time"+"fixed ICO planned duration"? I suppose it should be the former, but maybe Yobit just forgot about the fact this ICO was sold out early. I suppose they need to be contacted. I would really not like this buywall to be eaten further. It will be just unfair.

Be careful with giveaways and posting addresses on the thread. You might hear from the mods.

I hadn't thought about that, thanks for the heads up :)

And I have been reminded about the "give away" rule which I forgot about, so please no more CAID address in here, in future I will take the give aways to twitter :)

First 3 CAID address posted here gets 10k each, and the first to guess which day of the month my daughter was born on gets 50k CAIID :)

Maybe on 11th? :)
(as you asked that question just before today, so were probably preparing for birthday..?)

Absolutely. ;)

Still, that might be another service for CAID: web, wallet, miner, logo and other devs/designer can present themselves in some kind of job center and coin manager post job offers/bounties and if a contract is made CAID offers escrow service for the payment.

No worries. Crunck goes silent from time to time. I think that's a good thing, it indicates he sorted things out and knows how much of his time can be spent for the coins and how not to get them into the way of more important things. Something that is vital to manage them in the long term without loosing interest because the commitment becomes just too much of a hassle.

It's really staking very well, even without doing any coin control.

Edit: Some notes about the CAID shop:
-UMine pool mining and one time fee block explorer are shown as 0.00 CAID and have to be put in the basket to view the setup fee.
-The prices would be easier to read if they are could be shown like 6,000,000.00 CAID instead 6000000.00 CAID.

I don't really get it - who is dumping for 2 sat..? Why?! This person is either clearly dumping at a considerable loss, or he got coins not from the market...

Crunck, could you please confirm you did not spend the unburned remainder from the ICO yet... You told you'll use it for bounties only, and as far as I understand, there were no bounties paid yet, so I suppose they are intact. Where do you keep it? Some specific address or Yobit?

Maybe you sold some of the coins you got from purchases on Caid site..? If you did, it is completely ok, no problem with that at all, but could you please tell if that is the case? I just want to understand the origin of those huge cheap sells, nothing more.

If someone is doing that, then use them, but also make sure they will give you support after.

Dont forget if you use a POS algo, someone needs to mine it for a few days to move the chain, then of coarse you need a node to connect to.

Then what about the premine, can you mine and get the confirms to make it spendable, then do it all again to get it to confirm at the ICO holders address ?

Im not trying to teach anyone to suck eggs, but i do all the above, and even hardcode in a free node.

If your 0.1BTC can do all the above then you should go with it as its a better deal than mine, hell i might even sub contract some work out  :D

Cheers
Crunck

Looks like another Darkslash minion at work, its not the service provider that scams but the one that ordered some services, like babbur did and scammed people, so he is the real scammer

Its all to do with 2 coins that CAID was used to create, as per my ANN

One of the coins was XUP and the other was BSH, both of which were purchased by the same person/clown that is causing all the twitter nonsense.

He and a few other people were involved and there scams were going to work I think until one of them made a mistake.

The first I knew of this is when the dev of BSH sent me this PM:

=========================================================

hey mate, i have a little problem, ive uploaded the source code to github, and not realizing the first commit was with xupdev. ive since fixed it, but one user has seen this, and inboxed the escrow service im using and blabbed about scam.

this is not intended on being any kind of scam.

im going to inbox the escrow im using and let him know to inbox you and confirm that you uploaded the source as you were working on/fixing a certain part of the code, and you have somehow committed as the wrong user.

if you can fix this, im happy to contribute 0.1btc your way and more if ico is a success.

=========================================================

I of coarse refused to lie for him, and when the escrow contacted me I told him that the two coins were linked, and as the XUP turned out to be a scam I suspected the BSH would be the same.

The buyer of both coins "EmperorBaburr" is now pissed at me because I opened my mouth about it all.... but as I said I will not be party to a scam.

And thanks for popping on here to get the other side of the story.

@dev why are you getting bad mouthed all over twitter ? thing like this are poping up everywhere making me unsure if i want to continue holding caid there is 100s of posts about you making scam coin this is just a example  https://twitter.com/EmperorBaburr/status/650717506517143552

=========================================================

hey mate, i have a little problem, ive uploaded the source code to github, and not realizing the first commit was with xupdev. ive since fixed it, but one user has seen this, and inboxed the escrow service im using and blabbed about scam.

this is not intended on being any kind of scam.

im going to inbox the escrow im using and let him know to inbox you and confirm that you uploaded the source as you were working on/fixing a certain part of the code, and you have somehow committed as the wrong user.

if you can fix this, im happy to contribute 0.1btc your way and more if ico is a success.

=========================================================

And thanks for popping on here to get the other side of the story.
so you made them coins knowing they were scammers?

No of coarse not, I made him XUP that was the first time I had ever spoke to him.
And before that coin went scam ( i think about 10 days after launch ) he ordered a new coin BSH.

So no I didn't sell him a second coin knowing that he was about to turn XUP into a scam

why would he want a second coin if he was not a scammer what possible reason does anyone have for 2 coins i feel like your covering your own ass here and if thats the case  this makes you no better than them accepting money knowing it was a scam not sure how to feel about caid now

Lots of people have multiple coins, and to be frank I dont really care what you think, I have done nothing wrong here, what the end user does with my products is not my responsibility, had XUP gone scam before he purchased BSH I would not have dealt with him, and now im going silly tweets from him like this :

Crunck is neither a judge, nor is a prophet to know which coin will turn to be scam, and which one will become a next bitcoin :)

He is an engineer, and is a good one. He does what he promised - provides means and tools. As any tools, those tools could be used for good or bad goals. Yet two of the coins ordered via CoinAid were scammy, but the problem is not in Crunck, but is in the spoiled and corrupted altcoin crypto space, where every second launched coin is scam.

Crunck still looks to be one of rare clean spots in today's crypto... To my experience real developers (programmers) are typically honest people. The ones who scam usually have very little engineering knowledge :-\

Funny how some people can't split business and own projects...  Crunk is just offering services... I didnt hear anybody scream "bad idea" when his "coin service" was announced...

Let me tell you this guys... If people can't code.. And want a coin.. you can be 99% sure it is intended to make THEM money ;) The people ordering the coin are the bad guys.. Not crunk.. He is just taking on a job... nothing more.. nothing less...

Funny how 1 guy, can make such a fuss over his own failed projects (scams).. Instead of bashing on crunk.. take on the real bad guy.. As you can see from the pm's crunk has quoted.. he is not the smartest one in the world  :D What a nutter!  ;D

What you mean? Please elaborate a bit more.

Using your link, I can see 1611884.00000000 CAID transferred from one wallet to another.
The interesting part: on the Yobit trade stats I can see EXACTLY the same amount (1611884 CAID!!) dumped today at about 19:12 to the buy orders!! As a result the buywall went from 4 say to 1 sat.

Do you want to tell someone stole your coins and dumped them to the market?

This is correct.

Like an idiot i downloaded and run the Demonic qt on the same machine as my CAID wallet. The Demonic qt is designed for 1 thing, to steal your coins. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1203759.0

Lesson learned.

I'd say not yet or to be more precise not this week. For one it's almost over and second STEPS is working to get added, currently leading. I see no reason to waste funds battling that coin but to be completely open, I support STEPS there at moment.

On a somewhat off topic note, SandG was added to the list as well. Yay. :) To be more on topic, we should coordinate which of Cruncks coins to support first. ;)

On C-Cex the votes are accumulating all the time, they are not getting zeroed every week (like it is done on Cryptopia). So you can pay or vote whenever you like - your votes will not be lost :)

They are not zeroed as I understand it, but I think you are you are partly right. However, they get stored on the right of the page. I think you get admitted when you hit 5,000,000 in total, which is why they show the running totals. So that is a lot of DOT.

I am not 100%, but the wording indicates that, as does the relatively new practice of showing accumulated votes over each voting period.

@Crunck: I was thinking how a coin like this could resell the coins coming in to keep the supply available on the market sufficient enough so that the funds needed to shop are available. Now, just dumping on buy orders doesn't sound like a good idea at all. Putting up a sell order for the same price jeopardizes the ability of other coin holders to sell for anything but a loss. While such a coin is not exactly meant to be used as an investment this doesn't sounds like a preferable situation either. Then there's selling for a slightly higher price, 10 or 20%, than the last batch and lower the prices in the shop. That means it opens some room for trading while, until the batch sells out, caps the price somewhat. Buyers of the new batch pay the same or perhaps a slightly higher price now while buyers of the previous batches get a discount.

Have you thought about or plans how to handle this? Even while the price on Yobit is low (patience is hard to find in crypto) the supply in sell orders is already too low for some services I notice.

Well, I guess this coin is in some kind of decision limbo between figuring out how to restart the coin or finally deciding to keep the shop full BTC using the earned funds to perform a clean closing down of the coin. While the CAID ICO did sell out in somewhat of a record time too much was bought by profit vultures and too few investors. This harmed the project from the start especially since the prolonged buy wall time probably caused even more sell offs from weak nerves of people who actually intended to be investors.

Yes, exactly. Now, we don't need to get told were to get CAID since at least most of us bought into it already. But everyone else that might be interested has to either be really observant or stumble over the coin by accident.

Yep, it would be much better to just remove the line about the ICO (together with crossed out market ). And put a normal link to the market in OP instead.

That would make things look more up-to-date, at least. And will eliminate the need to torture the brain by examining the OP's hidden corners :)

There is still something going on but plans need time to be finalized and then put into action. Good time for the patient investor to get quite some coins for a few satoshis and just let them stake for a month or three.

Just to keep you all up to date,

So far I have bought a server from FelixFire619 paid up front for the year, which was a mistake as the server only lasted a few weeks and now he wont answer my messages, but no problem, I have now purchased a new server from a more reputable supplier.

A new store front is under construction to accept CAID as payment.

New scripts and services have been purchased to be sold in return for CAID.

Also in case some of you are not aware of my other coin SandG https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1091306.0 which is POW there is some talk over there of making SandG POS as well as POW.

I have suggested that I offer a coin swap at preferential rates, so for instance if you hold 100k SandG but want to be able to stake, I will swap some or all your SandG holdings for CAID, this gives everyone the chance to participate in POS, or POW or indeed both but all under the same umbrella.

Details of exactly how this would work are still trying to be figured out, and of coarse with out the permission from both the CAID and the SandG community it wont happen anyway.

But just so you all know I am still here building behind the scenes :)

Crunck

Have been watching the price on this, considering putting buys at 1-2 sats, but it seems to have decided to stay at this price.
Are there any developments in the pipeline for CAID that might shift the price?

Yes, the coin services store is still in the pipeline. This coin is nothing for the impatient, though. Not to be overlooked, the coin is staking well. This puts some pressure on the price but with buys and price holding, even at low levels, this means on the up side the value of the coin, and a staking investment, is still growing.

UPDATE

After getting burned with the first server I bought, I now have another and my dice gaming server is back up and running www.cryptogaming.club

For devs to have their coins added there will be a charge which will be paid in CAID but in return they get the admin panel and the profits of the game.

This is the first stage of getting CAID back on track, and thanks for holding on and waiting for me  :)

Changed to what? To "lucky bit"? I suppose to get any bounty, one should hold the avatar or signature for at least 1 month...

crunck, is there anything could be done to stop blocks from splitting every time they stake..?

Every time when I leave the wallet staking for one-two weeks, I find it creating big load on CPU, because there are several thousands of small inputs, each of them is stakes independently, and again splits after each stake, making the overall count of inputs inconveniently big... I have to combine those blocks manually, to be able to make bigger transaction, and to make wallet run easier again.

I understand the need in splitting the inputs (that will create more staking inputs, so the blockchain will move flawlessly), but is it possible to stop it at some point chosen by wallet owner, or at least on 5000-10000 coins per input ?

Myself I couldn't find console input controls here like some very few staking coins use, but I might be wrong and searched wrong. Now I'm not a programmer but in STEPS ANN Altcoinsteps explained what controls splitting and fusing:

Quote from: Altcoinsteps
to address the staking fuze/split

there are 2 lines in code that define this:

unsigned int nStakeSplitAge = 1 * 24 * 60 * 60;
int64_t nStakeCombineThreshold = 1000 * COIN;

the nStakeSplitAge = 1 * 24 * 60 * 60; means that the pos reward gets split into 2 outputs if the stake was younger than nStakeSplitAge(24 hours for STEPS)
the nStakeCombineThreshold = 1000 * COIN; means that if there are multiple sub-1000 STEPS coins at the staking address they should be recombined.
These lines seems to be unchanged for most of the coins and are the same in CAID code as well. That means every input staking in less than 24 hours splits. Some people more into organizing their staking change these settings and compile the wallet which is possible since these settings are only for the wallet behavior and have no influence on the blockchain (except slightly different transactions). So if you're familiar with compiling you could do that. Else we have to ask Crunck if he wants to change the wallet. As said no chain fork or mandatory wallet update needed for that, purely optional.

Thanks for info, I'll experiment with those values. I was expecting it to require changing some hash codes inside the wallet too, but apparently it does not. For beginning I have modified the wallet code now with nStakeCombineThreshold = 100000 * COIN, recompiled, and am running it that way...
Will see how/if this affects the way wallet is staking.

The coin doesn't seem to move at all... Even the trading is very low, not speaking about the price :-\ Maybe something should be changed in pricing..?

Crunck, in the picture above I can see "0.01BTC for 3 full months hosting, or the equivalent in CAID less 5%", but it is unclear how the equivalent in CAID is calculated..? Which price is used to get the equivalent value in BTC? Is it ICO price, or the exchange sell price at the moment, or the buy price at the moment..? It becomes very tricky to calculate taking into account the fact that there are not much coins for sale, so to buy some considerable amount one should move price up a lot!

But even if we simplify teh case and consider only current minimum sell price, the difference between the sell price (4 sat) and buy price (2 sat) at Yobit is 100%!!! The proposed 5% discount seems to be nothing compared to this difference. Truly saying I do not understand the idea behind this pricing. Maybe it is better to sell services exclusively for CAID, and do not accept payment in BTC. After all, CAID was created for that specific purpose, so why to accept payment in BTC too?

That is a good point and one I hadn't thought through.

The problem I am having is people want to pay via BTC and not CAID so I am trying to make it easy for everyone, if they pay BTC I will then just exchange that for CAID or if they pay directly with CAID I will make it cheaper, but as you have pointed out that's not quite a simple as it looks, so I will have to rethink that.

I have taken just over 1mil CAID in orders in the last 2 weeks, and things are improving now I have the new website www.cryptogaming.club and I am actively looking for more customers.

Fortunately for me CAID stakes really well so I have time as the chain will move and people will continue to buy and sell

Any help from you the communty of coarse will be more than welcome  ;D

Coinaid, you use it to make pay for services.

Coinaid, never move in prices and the services not now there. All gone. Pay for in bitcoin only which él say is to buy Coinaid but which never move anywhere in prices.

Pools disappear. With mined coins. Now I know he has a new pool. Funny.

the biggest wallet staking all shit owns near 51%. A wallet has more than one address we all know this.

It is shit, he can keep staking and selling, then make rescue it by a tiny buy at 4 sats.

I don't know what you're talking about in the first part of your post but these big addresses on the top belonging to Crunck are not staking. My wallet is open most of the time and the number of coins that are staking is usually somewhere in the 3-6 million coins range. So yes, he could be staking all shit but he does not. So if he is staking at all then just with a small fraction of his coins, enough to ensure the chain keeps moving but nothing more. So its a few people like me staking, if not 'all shit', and at least from the coins going to me nothing got sold.

Are you mad ?

To start with the big wallet is not on staking, I open it for about 10 mins once every few weeks to let it sync up, and once its synced it's shut down again, I think it would be a touch un fair for me to stake them dont you ? it would push the diff up as well as give me the majority of stakes.

I do however have a personal amount of CAID that i bought just like everyone else, and that stakes and with out telling you exactly which account it is as as i have said its my personal holdings it is not in the top 5 address.

Further more how can pools disappear when this is a POS coin and not mined on a pool ?

You will also see that I offer services that can be paid in BTC or in CAID and if in CAID a % discount is given, and if the person taking the services wishes to pay in BTC I simply give them an exchange BTC address and then change it into CAID similar to what I do with SandG.

so your comment about "It is shit, he can keep staking and selling, then make rescue it by a tiny buy at 4 sats" is absolute nonsense as if you had taken the time to look you would have seen the last time the large wallet staked was 29th December when I synced it up, i will start it up now to give you the date it was on before that date!

Further more things are quite at the moment for two reasons, one being its just been Christmas and there is no money around, and second the crazyness with the BTC price has hit all altcoins.

Please feel free to purchase a service is you wish using your CAID  :-*

EDIT : the time before the 29th Dec the wallet was synced was the 8th Dec

Crunck, I completely support you on this. There is good saying, which is best translated as: "everyone judges based on his own level of depravity", I suppose this saying is completely applicable to the guy...

BUT, anyway - why don't you just "reserve" the amount on the huge wallet (or simply disable staking in conf file), so it does not stake at all, and so don't confuse people? Actually even when it accidentally stake when you sync it, it stakes an amount comparable to some normal users whole position in this coin :)

Its still there on Yobit. But crunck is gone, the website too. Too bad, I thought crunck is an honest person. Hmm... , he looked like one. If anyone would like to revive this coin, I could sell some CAID pretty cheap. The implementation is reasonable good, chained worked very smooth up to now...

To be honest, it pretty much looks like that way. But the chain is still is moving, it is still listed at Yobit and a few trades are taking place. Then Crunck came back into forums a week ago so there is a slight chance to consider it on hiatus.

The website is down.  Not a good sign.  I want to believe..

Quite right, and the same here. At least the domain seems to be still registered to crunck.

Well, it looked that way from here because my wallet was that one staking merrily on its own private fork. Damn. No modifications though, must have been connections problem or a result of it becoming unresponsive due to high CPU load. I have no idea why the rest isn't moving though, except perhaps too few coins for a given diff.

I see you are re-syncing right now :)

Hope you backed up your "blk0001.dat", just to be on safe side (to use it in case if your wallet stops the same way as all others, after you re-sync fully..)

Yes, no use to stay on a minor fork, just more potential problems for everyone else. I did back everything up of course. :) At moment I use a fresh wallet.dat but once I switch to the old one I have some reserved coins that should have quite some coinage between them, if those don't work something is seriously broken.

OK, took a while longer than expected with things finishing while I was at work but it looks like the chain is moving again, despite a less than thrilling start with the wallet first locking up with high CPU use and loosing connection in the process. Anyway, getting 2 blocks done kickstarted someone elses wallet which threw in 50 blocks in short time and Yobit seems to be following as well.

Chain worked well since...

But stopped again on Jul 22. Not staking, not moving. I have some free inputs, but they do not stake by some reason. All peers are stuck on the same block, so seems to be no fork.

@Tortoise75: is your wallet open..?

My fault, sorry. The old wallet.dat got quite bloated and the QT unresponsive for quite some lengths of time so I moved everything to a new wallet.dat but the last transactions didn't manage to get on the network. So I loaded the old one again and forgot it there while leaving home over the weekend.  ::)

Yes, wallet.dat on this coin tends to grow big - chain stakes too often with many micro stakes.

I have modified my wallet, so it doesn't split inputs, otherwise my PC just cannot handle it...

It is about normal for most PoS. You can modify the wallet easily enough. But it is not a solution long term.

My anecdotal one-man experience is thee modified wallets stake less altcoins than when you let them go free.

Annoying is when you don't bother and get the "contested transactions" because you have different addresses in the wallet staking.

For PoS, I tend to just change wallet every 3 months or so. It stops the build up of tiny staking, but the downside is it can take a day or two to transfer the coins due to the sodding contested transactions (which eventually sort themselves out).

PoS is easy to develop, though. But it requires at least 2 or 3 staking wallets with a good proportion of coins to ensure it sustains. Ifthat happens, at leasst the PoW mining headache does not have to be endurd.

Anyway, Coinaid is dead. The url has not been renewed, hence it being at Godaddy. It will come up for sale soon with other dropped domains, and if not bought will be free to register.

Just pinging, to see if there is anybody here.. :)

Is this coin just a Yobit trading toy, or there might be hope for having blockchain working?

Anybody have seen crunck lately?

Well, since I posted here the thread still shows up if someones posts here. :)

The blockchain is still dragging itself along, but I don't know when it was out of maintenance on Yobit the last time or if it will be ever again. So it's best to consider this coin as a enclosed Yobit trading toy indeed.

No, nothing from Crunck I'd know of since a few months.

Yeah, so its Yobits trading toy... But I am not sure what to do with the CAID in my local wallet. There is quite a big amount there (though as there is no block explorer, and no money supply shown via RPC, I'm not sure what percentage of this useless stuff I actually hold  ;D).

If somebody would like to revive this, PM me, I would probably donate pretty noticable amount to the brave guy (though girls are more than welcome too ;D) who dares to give this coin a second chance...

Would be nice indeed if it got a second, more successfull, life. About coin amount, it was 100M at the start and I can see a bit less than 70M on sell orders in Yobit. It doesn't looks like that the majority of the coins was staking for long so I'd actually be surprised if the total amount would be way more than 130 million even after all that time and 60% APR.

I had some spare time on weekend, so have installed a block explorer to finally find the total supply :)
You were quite correct, the actual supply is about 138M right now. I can give you the link to explorer while it is still running, if you would like to take a look.

But looks like we have a bigger problem with the chain now - seems like it has stopped few days ago on block 650185. Two of my wallets are not moving, and the one installed on public VPS gets constant errors like this:

That should've been me testing if I'm on a fork. The high one would be my normal wallet, the other my last saved chain trying to sync blocking my own wallet (since both are running on the same PC they don't seem to see each other and only connect to the tablet if I do a addnode with internal network IP) and the third the tablet syncing up freely.

The tablet chose my normal wallet, the blocked probably synced up from you and stopped. So our (main) wallets are on slightly different chains. No problem if it wasn't for:

Code:
00:18:00

getpeerinfo

00:18:00

[
{
"addr" : "45.63.119.167:44233",
"services" : "00000001",
"lastsend" : 1501021080,
"lastrecv" : 1501021080,
"conntime" : 1501018967,
"version" : 60013,
"subver" : "/Satoshi:1.0.0/",
"inbound" : false,
"startingheight" : 650185,
"banscore" : 0
},
{
"addr" : "104.238.176.80:44233",
"services" : "00000001",
"lastsend" : 1501020210,
"lastrecv" : 1501020210,
"conntime" : 1501020067,
"version" : 60013,
"subver" : "/Satoshi:1.0.0/",
"inbound" : false,
"startingheight" : 219484,
"banscore" : 0
}
]
Those are my peers. The IP of the lower one I get in quite some wallets and I suspect it might be Yobit related. Giving the startingheigt it looks like it's on an old fork which might explain the maintenance. I am currently syncing up one wallet from scratch. Once near that block I'll try -connect to listen only to that one. Would like to do it sooner but unfortunately syncing stops after 500 blocks or so and just continues after a wallet restart with that one. But I want to see if Yobit comes out of maintenance if someone is synced with it.

Edit: OK, one wallet is connected and syncing only from that low chain. Another should be running and staking on your chain. I need some sleep, let's see how it looks tomorrow.
Edit2: Not finished syncing and that peer is now startingheight" : 351984, so it seems to be syncing too now.

How its going? It looks like your setup with two wallets on the same PC + tablet  (probably all behind the same NAT router) is creating those issues and sometimes forks the network :D
That node is not Yobit, I know that for sure, because that is my node, which I was trying to re-sync again :). Yobit wallet doesn't seem to be active, I suspect they just stopped it (why to eat server resources, when they can stop the wallet and just trade those coins with wallets being in fake 'maintenance' forever?).

I'm synced up to the same version of chain like you are and the chain moves, but else nothing much.

It does need close attention. That those two wallets on the PC don't connect to each other and thus rely on a 3rd wallet to keep synced can cause issues, especially in combination with block flooding if too much staking weight gets released at once and the wallets easily becoming unresponsive up to the point of breaking connection. So I usually only use it as backup if the chain stalls.

That explains quite a lot if it's your node. Seems you're not easily abandon a chain as well and either you run quite a lot or we get attracted by the same coins. Have you any idea how to connect to Yobit? Other exchanges usually make it quite easy but I have quite some trouble figuring out Yobits wallets.

I am not sure how to connect to Yobit. In fact, I think they do not have any wallet running. But CAID wallets needs to be taken out of maintenance somehow, or alternatively it needs to be listed on different exchange.

OK, that might be a problem. I don't have one or the code. Drays runs a modified wallet to keep input splitting at bay so he might still have a copy or his branch of the source code. If not CoinAid is listed as in some way used by TillKoeln so he might have a copy. Contacting Crunck might be difficult but perhaps he reemerges again, he used to in the past.

@Drays: Yes, I notice I got a PM. Sorry, I'm not that often online due to time constraints and BTT isn't really big in notifying new PMs it seems.

Not sure why Crunck deleted the sources on his Github... That guy's actions are unclear to me. Never thought he would be so cheap to deal this way with this project... but well, lets leave him alone.

And - yep, I have the sources locally (I almost always backup wallets and sources for the most coins I own from start :)). Ready to send them to anyone who asks here or in PM! :)

New ANN coming..  Github has modified version by drays..

Yes, wallet.dat on this coin tends to grow big - chain stakes too often with many micro stakes.

I have modified my wallet, so it doesn't split inputs, otherwise my PC just cannot handle it...

CoinAid info can be found here : coming soon!
