For my information why bitcoin dropped the price because they have many fake news that spread. So that the big investors and buying more bitcoin because it is dump and after that the bitcoin will rise because of the investors..The demand is very much and the price will rise so if the bitcoin will dump the altcoins will also dump.

I think the current state of the crypto coins market is good for the community. Continuous increment in the value of coins without any convincing reason for such growth is scaring for outsiders who would consider entering inyo the space. Stabilization of price movement is desirable in the cryptospace to build confidence.

I think the reason for the drop this week because of the NEM that got hacked

Title: Re: Why are altcoins still dropping in price

There is also the fact that over the past few months, the amount of Crypto "traders" practically doubled and the newcomers who were use to such great trading conditions are now extremely volatile and aren't helping stabilization.

bitcoin is dropping because of korea fud, there is a fake news about korea banning bitcoins so peoples got panicked and selling there bitcoins and for this fake news altcoins is also dropping because all of them are selling btc for fiat.
thats my personal opinion.

Because those altcoins you said are increased huge in the last month. They definitely need a correction whether bitcoin price increases or decreases. Linda increased from 4 satoshis to 93 satoshis, still higher than the initial price. Verge increased from 54 satoshis to 1725 satoshis, still higher than the initial price.
I guess you might have bought from the top and waiting for further increase but I do not think those coins will increase from now on. Every small increase should be a selling opportunity.

There is a lot of reason why this happens and lately there is a lot of news that is affecting cryptocurrency the fact that almost 527million nem is hack in japan has a big impact to all cryptocurrency so no one can really say how long before bitcoin and those other alts bounce back again let's just hope that something better happen this coming months.

We dont even know why this bad news come many times in this period.
Facebook ban cryptocurrency ads now, its very bad news that can make the bloody market again.

For now, there will be a FUD sale. That's great news for all those who want to buy coins/tokens at discounted prices. Like TRX for example, it has gone down to $0.05 from an all-time high of $0.28.

Considering that South Korea ends anonymous trading and Facebook bans cryptocurrency ads, the prices dip a bit. Altcoin price drop is normal, and we should deal with that. It is why we should keep exploring other options instead of worrying about the crash like diversifying short, mid and long-term digital assets.

you are right every increase is an opportunity to sell and earn profits. it's a different thing if op makes a long-term investment and should not worry about this decline.

Not only are altcoins dropping, but btc as well. It really hurts to see your portfolio all in red. I slept earlier than normal so that i wouldn't see my holdings dropped hoping that all will be better in the morning when. Unfortunately when i woke up, btc dropped and all other coins dropped as well. My holdings melted around 30-50% of its normal value and it really sucks.

I think it is happening because of many reasons: korea fake news, japaen exchange hack, global figures talking against bitcoin, bitcoin's ban as currency in some platforms, chinese ico ban, bitcoin cash.. It is like everything is bad about bitcoin these months and it affects all altcoins. We need to turn back  safe days and altcoins will recover.

It is because of the correction of the price of bitcoin, all alts are going down. And now why is it that some alts are continuing going down while the bitcoin is steady at price? Because investors are traumatized in the last correction they prefer selling when it go up even just a little, for now they prefer short term investment instead of holding it for long term purposes.

I'm sure there's a lot of reasons why they're still dropping in price.  For example last week was NEM hack at Coincheck Japan.  This week includes Facebook deciding to ban all crypto related ads, SEC investigating Arisebank, CFTC / US Regulators subpoena Bitfinex/Tether and many more.  But at the end, in any market, news are just noise, and altcoins just like other commodities must find its own floor before inching or marching upward again.

There has been a constant stream of FUD lately. But im not sure why its been taken so badly. Regulations for icos and exchanges. I dont see a problem with that and im not sure why anyone else does. Some exchanges have disappeared with all cash , some ICOs have done lots of talk and then no work, gone with the money.how is that a good thing. Keep above 500 M market cap and let more innovation take place - we need to see results for the market cap.

The market has not recovered yet since the holidays. Many invested for a short time. And the date of this short period was exactly the beginning of 2018. Therefore, everything will return to normal, the code will reach the balance. Of course I would like the balance to be at high price positions. But let's see what will happen in the spring.

Well, having this on the current market situation. I think this is normal. You need to wait for few more months for the cryptocurrencies to rise and shine and again. We know that there's always time for everything. A little more patience is required especially in this circumstance.

One of the reason why cryptocurrency coin is because the whales are cashing out almost all their crypto to start a panic and suddenly if the price drops dramatically. They will buy buy little by little with out noticing it and once they already get the amount they need, they will pump it again and the bull run will start again.

But I think still there are so many altcoins who price are still increasing, in fact when bitcoin price is usually dumping or become stable in such situation altcoins price start increasing and same is the case in current time, we can see some altcoins whos price is continuously increasing. But very soon when bitcoin price will get accelerator then people will convert their investment from altcoin to bitcoin.

Some of the token who rises before are now on dump because the hype is already finished and people have get their reward profit from it and they are now continuing selling their holdings. some alternative coins are not dropping and not changing though bitcoin price are falling therefore their USD value also dip.

It's really normal, all cryptocurrency dump and pump everyday. But at the moment almost cryptocurrency price are dumping lower as usual cause the downtrend is happening and this downtrend often happen at the middle of Jan every year. A lot of holders are feeling nervouse at the moment but you should know that you still not lose until you sell :)

The way I see it, crypto market has been extraordinarily resilient despite its relatively younger age.  This has market survived a blanket ban from China, Mt Gox, South Korea, US & Singapore restrictions on ICO purchases etc.  If it can survive those, it can survive anything.  Just like the stock market, as long as we're climbing the wall of worries, there isn't much to be worried about except the day-to-day gut-wrenching pain watching the dives.  What to worry about is when there's irrational exuberance in the market or when there's nothing to worry about anymore.  Until then, the bubble hasn't form yet, and I sincerely think the downward pressure is just part of the consolidation phase.

Its because whole market is red and showing bearish movement. Investors are loosing faith in market and started disinvestment their money from it. This leads to more panic situation in the whole crypt-market and hence BTC as well as Altcoins are also crashing like anything.

This is because of the government crackdown / regulation on crypto. Bitcoin is already established thats why he didn't go lower low.

I expect that starting March or Early April Crypto market will start to recover in slowly manner. Dont expect that bitcoin will make the x15 again. a x2 or x3 is more acceptable.

So much fudd and fake news maybe. While the whales and rich investors enjoy so much of the red days or the dip of prices of bitcoin and alts, small time traders are affected. So better don't put all on alts. Have bitcoin ready to buy the dip. Or cash to buy cheap bitcoin. Just like they said, diversify and don't put your eggs on 1 basket alone.

Once the dust settles around tether FUD.  Investigation is still ongoing, not sure how long this one is going to last.  More news today tether traders inflated bitcoin prices.  Altcoins prices have strong correlation to bitcoin, except maybe ether.  IMHO Bitfinex should be more transparent and provide audit report ASAP.  But the price of the king of the crypto will not go below the cost of mining it, i.e. if the cost of mining 1 btc is $8,000 then it should not go below that otherwise who's gonna mine it at a lost?  If it collapsed then we'll be in unchartered territory.

Many countries set policy rules related to cryptococcus, this is a major factor that lowers the value of altcoin. Even the most popular type of coin (Bitcoin) also experienced a very sharp decline. as much as possible with the current price decline is the greatest opportunity to buy more altcoin types that we will invest because the possible value of cryptocurrency will raise the price again.

Such bad news coming out from governments has always been, and in the past year, and before. This did not have such a strong influence on the price of crypto currencies, as it is now. I think behind this is another reason

For my information why bitcoin dropped the price because they have many fake news that spread. So that the big investors and buying more bitcoin because it is dump and after that the bitcoin will rise because of the investors..The demand is very much and the price will rise so if the bitcoin will dump the altcoins will also dump.

Yes, so many FUD around cryptocurrency now.
After FUD, so many investor and trader decide to move their fund into cash and waitingbfor the good again and after that they will buy the bitcoin and altcoin.

Most of these altcoins depend or are actually affected by the pump in BTC directly. So in times that BTC increases increases its prices definitely these altcoins will also increase in price and it won't take that long to really gain values this week or even the next day that's how fast things hapen in this platform which is quite good. This makes drop in prices good opportunity for investment.

Together with the drop in the price of bitcoin, the market capitalization is sharply reduced.

The total marketcap of cryptocurrency is still declining from the past 3weeks thats why bitcoin itself find it hard to recover from the crash, people who are doing panic selling worsen the situation, resulted into panic that drives more people to sell their holdings,INDIA fud is one thing to be consider too,fud spreading is nothing new but these new investors are too scared when something negative comes.

in my opinion personal altcoin prices dropped because a lot of bad news from bitcoin which makes bitcoin investors so worried and afraid, therefore bitcoin investors sell all the bitcoin it has and it also affects the price of altcoin, which makes all altcoin prices down.

Btc hasnt dropped very much more and it seems like some alts like linda, verge, and electroneum are still dropping how long will it yake for them to rise back up

I'm down because the price of bitcoin for sure is at least the price of all altcoins or tokens so it's better to hold first because I do not know all the details of what's going on why it's selling all the prices.

I don't know when the market will be normal, I think maybe in March everything will start to improve. at this time, all I did was to buy some altcoin and hold it. you do not need to worry, because it can harm you personally. try to know the development of the token you are holding.

Well until now there's a lot of news that is spreading and it is not good for a lot of coins same to bitcoin maybe that is why a lot of alt's value is still not rising and a lot of people are having doubt about alt coins while bitcoin is the most popular and a lot of people trust it that's why bitcoin recover faster than any other alt.

At the present value of Bitcon together with all the altcoins out there are both totally dropped their prices. Maybe because of receiving wrong FUD information about Altcoins which may lead to the holders to sell their coins too.

The FUDs saga continued, saw the news that today Bank of America & JP Morgan will no longer allowed using their credit cards to purchase cryptocurrencies.  Others might follow.  This is quite bad for the US market, it will dry up liquidity.

You're totally right, as time goes by the value of bitcoin decreasing as welk as altcoins which most of them relying the value of bitcoin. Actually, not just negative informations about altcoins that may cause in decreasing but also the massive cashouts of their share to those users having a huge amount. Also, it may cause a panic selling of those users to cut off their losses but somehow their are still users believe that will back to stabilized value and hold their bitcoin as much as possible.

The answer is because of bitcoin's value drop. Yes, any altcoins is affected by bitcoin because we use it as an exchange for our fiat money also we use that to buy an altcoins direct or indirect. Bitcoin is essential for buying and trading tokens because as of now it is the only coin that is exchageable to our fiat money.

There are 2 main reasons why the altcoins are still going down and they are
Selling of coins = market cap
Which means that when people start investing in cryptocurrencies again, the marketcap will increase and the altcoins will gain price.
FUD - which is resulting in panic selling of cryptocurrencies. There are many rumors and negative news going around in media which is why there is a lot of FUD spreaded in the community.
Cryptocurrencies will take a while now until the next ride begins. It is best to hold whatever position we are in right now.

various reasons and causes can happen, the most important thing every scattered news that dropped need to be clarified and corrected the truth, can not easily think something is the absolute cause, in other words there is something more important than all that, that is keeping the state of movement the market remains conducive, by fighting false news and irresponsible actions. because it can cause a person to panic and sell it in an unstable volume that eventually happens a decrease in the image price of altcoin in the world of cryptocurrency.

While there is still panic in the market and many people buy something then they sell, and of course you can still observe such a picture. If the total marketcap of cryptocurrencies started to stabilize bitcoin would recover together with most of the altcoins, but if the total marketcap will still decline surely the bloodbath wouldnt stop, because most investors are playing safe with bitcoin's drama thats why their money are being cashout in the market.

If btc price goes up again, we can surely see that these altcoins will also increase in price and value. We should not be worried of this trend as I believe that btc price will go up again eventually in the future. Altcoins should be aware of the price of btc everyday.

One thing i genuinely feel is whenever bitcoin will fall, alts will fall with it and that recovery will be the exact same. But this is not technically correct.See what happens is when bitcoin falls or even small correction happens,it works negatively in favors of alts and this creates FUDs in alts as though only bitcoin is falling but people just assumes that same will happen in alts too and they start taking their money out.Which automatically makes alts to fall as simple as that and this will continue untill bitcoin raises again.

Right now with so much uncertainty it seems the market is likely to continue to drop. If you look at the charts (I am no expert) but it looks as if there is a steady downward movement in price. Every time the coins bounce up they never seem to reach their previous weeks highs. Maybe they will but I dont think this looks good. Altcoins can pump once the market situation improves and to be honest the value of bitcoin plays a major role int he fluctuations of altcoin price i have noticed this in the past and now as well. If you just take few altcoins and their price graph and then compare it with bitcoin's graph for the same period you will understand the connect.

manny reason: Market capitalisation is an inexact measure of cryptocurrencies (as Business Insider Australia's Sam Jacobs has outlined), but it at least gives a good idea of the scale of the ongoing sell-off.

The crypto market has been on the back foot since the start of the year, hit by fears of a regulatory crackdown and slipping Asian volumes. Bitcoin is now at less than half its December peak of over $19,000.

More concerns have emerged about the sector this week as Facebook banned cryptocurrency advertisements and US regulators began investigating tether, a cryptocurrency that some fear has been used to inflate the value of bitcoin.

India's finance minister also said this week that the Indian government "does not consider cryptocurrencies legal tender or coin and will take all measures to eliminate use of these crypto-assets in financing illegitimate activities or as part of the payment system."

and Altcoins's price depend on bitcoin's price.

So, they are easy to sell in panic when there are some fake news in the market. I believe that the market will recover soon when the investors realize that they are scammed by communications.

Most likely it will be due to bad publicity that BTC and other altcoins are getting. If you're a veteran in this cyrpto currency market, you'd know the trends and keep calm. Moreover, bad publicity makes the people lose confidence in the market and thus shy away from further trading/investing. The market isn't exactly at its melting point even with the current saturation and a lot of people still are wise enough not to fall to the panic pit.

Mass media keeps reporting that Bitcoin and Cryptos is a big bubble waiting to burst and all the fud that has been reported plus the Chinese new year have made the market very bearish and flat now. We need fresh blood and new money to come in but most of all we need people in this space that really believe in the technology. Now all the newbies have left and cashed out we need to attract new types of investors and that is going to be tough given the current sentiment surrounding cryptos. Cryptos will still keep dropping as long as there is FUD and high risk speculators.

I slept earlier than normal so that i wouldn't see my holdings dropped hoping that all will be better in the morning when. Unfortunately when i woke up, btc dropped and all other coins dropped as well. My holdings melted around 30-50% of its normal value and it really sucks.
I observe the same situation. 50-60% in a minus from the general capital. He concluded that in the future it is necessary to fix profits in Fiat and use other investment tools in the future, and not to focus only on the crypto currency. Now I consider investment in HYIPs in crypt and Fiat, also consider investing in real business.

I don’t think so…if you have less followers or friends in your account which not fulfill the requirement any specific bounty…then you have to check requirement of that bounty, in that case you can skip that bounty.

There are a lot of those bounties which are not requiring followers or friends in thousands, so you can join that kind of bounties.
After that when your Account grown then you can join campaigns which demands high ratio of friends.

Because the total marketcap of cryptocurrencies are still declining thats why bitcoin and most of the  altcoins are bleeding and sharing their burdents to each other, lets hope that bitcoin will not collapse that easily.

Everyone here is talking about rumors all the time,it is true that the market do react to each and every news around the world and this time around all the negative news is dragging the market down, the recent thing is that banks stopped the use of credit card to purchase crypto currencies and China banned foreign crypto exchanges.

Because there are a lot of negative news about crypto-currencies circulating around at the moment, more governments have started to tighten down and impose stricter rules and regulations against crypto-currencies exchanges operating in their countries, I believe the price of altcoins will still be dropping in the coming weeks.

No one really knows until when the drop of the prices are because it depends on the market or the whales that are controlling them. But if you base it on from the previous years, possibly around May it could be back on its track. From the looks of it, it still has not stopped from dropping its price so let us just wait and see if it will be the same pattern as of the past few years.

Btc hasnt dropped very much more and it seems like some alts like linda, verge, and electroneum are still dropping how long will it yake for them to rise back up
Considering that the whole market is tied up in bitcoin, they are starting to issue bad news about the ban on mining in China, on the prohibition of trading in cryptocurrencies in South Korea, etc. Until all this hype is satisfied, there will be a correction. as you know, cryptocurrency is a new market in the world. there are many investors do not have enough knowledge and information. they just buy based on the recommendation of friends, colleagues,.. So, they are easy to sell in panic when there are some fake news in the market. I believe that the market will recover soon when the investors realize that they are scammed by communications.
you are talking logically, i agree with you, although i believe bitcoin can rise again, and got his position back, i bought bitcoin when it is 12k$ so i am in huge loss now

Honestly I don't know why there's a dropping in price of cryptocurrency, I saw it when I first start used crypto its always goes  up and down, so i think its normal to have dump and pump to it. Maybe we should wait or else hold for a while our coins so we have a still crypto after its big dropping and might be make it higher value after than selling it.

I guess that there are multiple reasons why:

1) I think that we had some kind of bubble in the last months. The prices went sometimes like crazy. This has led to some people taking profits
2) There is a lot of bad news and FUD circling around which makes that people starting to panic

Not only altcoins are dropping their prices but also bitcoin in dip value, i think there is a fake news that has been spread in cryto currency or due in fork. It is time to buy more altcoins and now in low prices.

Now is really a good time to buy almost all the coins. Many coins will probably never be so cheap. In my opinion, a lot of negative news has hit the world of crypto currencies because big players have to buy crypto currency at a low price.  ;)

This will all pass. As smart people say, we do not lose until we sell at these low prices. So while we can only watch our assets. Moreover, perhaps, the situation is gradually recovering and bitcoin is still going up.

Seems that price is dropping for the price of Bitcoin. All others crypto currency are depending on bitcoin directly or indirectly. Most of the time Bitcoin leads altcoin. So when bitcoin's price get down then altcoin's price also get down.

Cryptos will skyrocket in 2018:

>200tn USD is parked in asset classes which are massively overvalued and are about the implode (stocks, bonds etc)
<0.4tn USD is invested in cryptos, of which some are massively undervalued due to yet to be widely acknowledged world changing potential

Large money flows will move into the crypto space soon. Limited coin supply results in skyrocketing coin prices.

Alt coins are very unpredictable, so it's impossible to guess how long it will take to recover them. It all depends on the development team + the market behavior. The team must advertise their coins and constantly attract new people to the project even during the negative situation at the market.

All others altcoins are obvisouly connected to the major altcoin market cap ( BTC ) so if the btc drop the price almost all others altcoins will drop the price on average 10-20% of their value its a normal phase of the crypto market that is connected both BTC and ETH to others sub cryptos

Those last few weeks we saw an downtrend of the btc and the consequent price drops of all others altcoin, i know that this will change in this end of the month- early next one to see a really huge uptrends of all markets

For my information why bitcoin dropped the price because they have many fake news that spread. So that the big investors and buying more bitcoin because it is dump and after that the bitcoin will rise because of the investors..The demand is very much and the price will rise so if the bitcoin will dump the altcoins will also dump.

Well, i think you are right that bitcoin and altcoi are dumping because the news spread out there.
There are some fake news too bit the market respond that fake news like the real news. Why? Because of panic of holder with that news.

Most often, what we saw in the charts in the past several days already was either pure red or pure green but obviously the green was very temporary and the red was dominating for the most time. The prices have been dipping low. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Strat, Ripple, and almost all of the cryptos were dumping. But yesterday we have seen good growth to almost all cryptos. The charts right now are kind of weird. I think there is a 50:50 in what I have seen when I last checked. 50% are pumping while the other half is apparently dumping. This also puzzles me.

Try to look at the value of cryptocurreny today in the market, it was very noticeable that bitcoins drops from $13k dollar to 7k and since all altcoins value are based to bitcoins then the values are all being affected of decreasing.

Bitcoin also experiences the same thing as altcoin, FUD is everywhere and this is why altcoin prices are still down. I think it took a few months for altcoin prices to return to normal. We can take advantage of this opportunity to buy potentially altcoin.

I think the current state of the crypto coins market is good for the community. Continuous increment in the value of coins without any convincing reason for such growth is scaring for outsiders who would consider entering inyo the space. Stabilization of price movement is desirable in the cryptospace to build confidence.

But last week drop of cryptocurrency value not build confidence to exist user and also newbie who want to join in the party.

most of altcoins on the market have a connection with bitcoin, because their value is based on Bitcoin trading and have a propotion to compare with bitcoin, whenever bitcoin fluctuate, the price of bitcoin can bring the entire market down because of most investors prefer to use bitcoin than altcoins, that is why the amount of bitcoin investors can control the market price too much that effect altcoins fluctuation.

Increasing or dropping of the price of any crypto or altcoins is a very common thing because people can get benefit by this technical up down. Some time price will be increased and some time price will be decreased and it is very much normal. But there are always some reasons for that happens.

In recent, some fake news were published of altcoins and for that people were converted their mind and started to sell all the coins and for that reason the price was fallen. You have to care about all thing when you joined in online dealing. Don’t do anything without investing otherwise you can see the face of rough losses.
Yes, the market is always cyclical. The coin can lose a third of its value in one day and have time to win back all the losses. This world of crypto currencies is still at the very beginning of its development, so prices are very unstable. But this is normal at this time.

There is also the fact that over the past few months, the amount of Crypto "traders" practically doubled and the newcomers who were use to such great trading conditions are now extremely volatile and aren't helping stabilization.

Why trader double make the price downfall like this?
Is it normally going up if more people come into the party because it can increase the demand.
Correct me if i am wrong

Its normal for an altcoin to decrease its value if bitcoins is also decreasing, always remember that the value of altcoins are based on bitcoins. The best thing to do at a times like this is to hold your coins because the value of cryptocurrency will still go back to normal after a few months.

Yesterday and the previous days as well, we are in green already. As of the moment, however, I can see a lot of red. Bitcoin, Ethereum, and the rest of the major altcoins are in red blood. But I think this is very temporary. The dip is very shallow. It cannot last long enough. Perhaps a few hours from now, we will be seeing green once again. This is a normal movement of crypto. No panic is necessary. I like the time we have now because of the absence of shit FUDs.

Even the most popular type of coin (Bitcoin) also experienced a very sharp decline as much as possible with the current price decline is the greatest opportunity to buy more altcoin types that we will invest because the possible value of cryptocurrency will raise the price again.

The original inquiry was asked last jan 31. Right now, the market looks nice, I've been seeing greens all the way. But then again there are still reds in some coins, others have a huge jump on their price. The main point is, we are looking at a more stable mid first quarter. Give it a few more weeks and we are going to be looking at a more stable second quarter and a very promising third. Alot of the dooms day theorists will say the crypto currency is dying but i beg to differ

Btc hasnt dropped very much more and it seems like some alts like linda, verge, and electroneum are still dropping how long will it yake for them to rise back up
I think in the near future, if there is good news about the coin then they will soon rise because good news can increase market demand and lead to price changes, meaning as long as demand rises prices will rise.

Yes, at the moment there are a lot of positive news regarding the crypto currency, so I expect the market to rise. The market is very sensitive to this news.

This is quite a logical situation. too strong a connection between Alcoins and Bitcoin. When red days come, in the whole system, which can not be controlled. It is necessary to wait for stabilization and then almost immediately there will be growth.  8)

The world of altcoys is strongly intertwined with one another. Also altcoins, as practice shows, are tied to the price of bitcoin. Bitcoin, after its long fall, has finally been growing for the third week already. As soon as he starts to grow rapidly in price, the altcoyins will follow him too. Wait is not long.

There are so many factors the made Altcoin price drops but few of them were caused by BTC's droppings but not happening most of the time.
Altcoins has their respected unique projects that made their Altcoin has the advantage over the market competitions and that's what make them rise and fall.
Some projects are focusing on marketing, coin exchanges, Dapps or decentralized applications, some of them are focusing on environment preservation, health insurances and many more.
That makes them unique and the price would rise if their project is in high demand and useful to people.

it's natural that the altcoins grow and then drop little back. I don't see them really sinking in long term. Just be little patience, you should see the grow very soon as the projects you have mentioned are really solid.

I've seen a lot. Nobody knows for sure though.
There was a crypto FUD with Korea a month ago. Then they announced a week ago things are fine. The night before the announcement one of the politicians that was part of the crypto FUD died.
Chinese President trying to extend limits to more than 2 terms.
Bitcoin invented by the CIA.
Satoshi is actually Charlie or Roger Ver.
There's a few more I can't remember right now

I think, the casual crypto investor alike have a very small influence on the market. Whales can (through various methods) sway the market drastically by simply buying heavily into a project or dumping heavily. The crypto environment in theory should be relatively decentralized, however, that really isn't the case unfortunately. BTC, ETH, XRP are highly centralized, meaning a few have the power to manipulate the majority.

There are tow reason why alts keeps on dropping. First reason is because Bitcoin is in bull run. Everytime there is a bull run the tendency is traders sell their altcoin to take advantage of the profit. Second reason is traders and whales are cashing out in fiat currency. If you see bitcoin is dropping together with altcoin, it means the money is pouring to  fiat money.

Of late altcoins have been dropping a serious amount. I would think the reason for this would most likely be a serious over-saturation of the current market place. Too many alts are now undervalued seriously, the only real way i can see a larger increase for price in the current market will be a large new influx of people coming into the ICO marketplace. I wouldn't expect this to rise until we see ETH back to 950 dollar +

Yes, these fluctuations in the rates of crypto currencies will continue at least until the summer, perhaps a little earlier or later. But in any case, the market should cope with this fall and gain a foothold on new levels, much higher than the current ones.

There are number of investors who have made some bad decision in the past few weeks and decided to sell all of their coin at lower rates.

This resulted in decrease in the graph of the market value for most of the coins and due to which the market value dropped down due to decrease in the demand of the altcoins in the market. However, things are getting better as the graph has started going up since last few days.

Altcoins do not fall every day. there are periods when they jump very high. You can use this greatest volatility of the cryptomarket for short-term investments. If you manage to make good deals, you can earn even on drops.

The fact is that the crypto currency market is very unpredictable. It is very difficult to predict what will happen in the market tomorrow, not to mention longer periods of time. While I see how bitcoin gradually becomes more expensive, and altcoins are gradually becoming cheaper. I think a similar picture will continue for a while.

While Bitcoin is lying on $10,000 range - altcoins are also it's momentum and it will all depends on the intensity and the effectiveness of the coin.
As a observed, that Bitcoin is pumping, everything else are pumping together, so that's why we just hope that Bitcoin will pump soon in order our coins will be carried together.
Let's just wait and hold still because soon enough we'll be getting more investments returns we deserve.

The crypto is unpredictable, yes, I believe the statement but there are some other factors as well to make or push our altcoins price value higher even Bitcoin isn't pumping.
If the project is good and well effective then the market decides whether they want to invest at higher price or doesn't are at all.
Things will be considered because not all altcoins are relying on Bitcoin and Ethereum market value.

When bitcoin becomes stable that will also be the time of altcoins back into green.

Stabilization of price movements is highly desirable in the crypto space to build confidence, so I think the current state of the crypto coin market is good for society. The continuous rise of coin value for no convincing reason for such growth is frightening for outsiders who will consider entering into space. .

Altcoins may be dropping because their existence is still unknown to many supposed investors. Or some may already have knowledge on them but they are still hesitant right now and they want more proof that existing members are really earning. I'm always trying to explain to my colleagues and friends about altcoins and told them that there is possible huge income from this type of investment.

Starting from the last quarter of  2017 alt coins had a great run and increased a lot along with bitcoin. Their price increased a lot  even some of them got overvalued. That caused a hard crash which effected both bitcoin and alt coins. We are still waiting for market to recover , that’s why alt coins are still struggling.

Alts are currently not very stable due to higher risks. But they also bring much higher rewards. During bearmarket people shift to safe positions like Eth, neo,  btc, etc.
If bear market continues for a long period than alts drop more cause more people loose trust. During recovery phase alts recover faster because even small injection of money pumps it's price.

I think it is because of the rumors, fake news and scams. Other investors are already withdrawing because of the news that is being spread. Since BTC is affected all other coins are really affected with its down fall. It might be that there are also adjustments needed in the market for other altcoins to fit in and other transactions may enter into its purpose.

I think the reason on why ALTCOINS are dropping , because altcoins depends on bitcoin. So as long as Bitcoin suffers, altcoin will suffer too.  When bitcoin starts growing, then the altcoins will also grow. But there are also chance that if bitcoin rises again, ALT will suffer because every investors on ALT will start buying bitcoin and will leave altcoins. But while the crypto currency market is unstable, we should wait for the end of correction and recovery of the market. All altcoins have a similar tendency same with bitcoin.

The fact is that the network has information that one of the huge holders of bitcoin is already beginning to throw coins into the market. There has already been a release in 6.000 bitcoin and 8000 bitcoin. This greatly influenced the market and the price of the whole of the crypto currency.

Unfortunately, the prices for alternative currencies depend very much on the price of bitcoin. People do not want to study projects and do not see in them a perspective. They want only easy money. Everyone understands that crypto is managed by bitcoin. And they see only him. Watch for altcoins will be possible in case of stabilization of the bitcoin price.

It could be true, but sometimes if altcoin has good developments and real-world projects that are really convincing, I do not think it will be a big enough problem, because I'm sure it will only be temporary as well.

In my own perspective, I will blame the dump in price of bitcoin and altcoins on the investors that don't really have full knowledge about crypto and they are in crypto world. They sell at a very ridiculous price because they don't want to lose it all.

most of altcoins on the market have a connection with bitcoin, because their value is based on Bitcoin trading and have a propotion to compare with bitcoin, whenever bitcoin fluctuate, the price of bitcoin can bring the entire market down because of most investors prefer to use bitcoin than altcoins, that is why the amount of bitcoin investors can control the market price too much that effect altcoins fluctuation.

Its because of bitcoin why all the altcoins are also dropping in their price. Bitcoin can manipulate the value of all altcoins in cryptocurrency world , because when the bitcoin price drops down , altcoins price also follow to drop down , and when bitcoin will.be back to its normal state , altcoins also will follow vice versa. But this situation where altcoins price dropping will be back to their normal state once the bitcoin price is going to rise again.

There is a reason that I think ICO is progressing nice in the market but it seems that the tendency to invest in ico has affected the demand in the altcoin market. The user base is growing up but they have more choices for purpose. It will balance the user base on altcoin.

If the time of bitcoin and altcoins will take place we can see it in the coming soon.  I hope it will come more sooner to let altcoins and bitcoin's be in color green.

altcoin discount on some coins at different times. Not all altcoin's go down. I think this is normal, the recent ico still shows certain effects on the practicality. That is to bring the necessary purposes for the user. Over time, there are too many choices for users to create a fair competitive environment. That will make altcoin grow slower.

It's very simple , Bitcoin still not stable. so , first BTC needs to be stable. MArket rule is If BTC will go down alt coin will go down. After that BTC dominance will grow. When BTC dominance will increase good amount people will convert BTC to ALT coin. This is the time ALT coin price will go high.

You remember that the bitcoin last month has fallen to falling level, and in a week has again risen and has returned to the normal value, as well as now, the bitcoin has again fallen and expected that all coins will also decrease because the altcoin can rely on a basic coin which bitcoin, but don't worry in the same way as last month. wait and observe behind couple of coming days, he will return to the normal value therefore HODL and won't panic.

The next cycle of growth of a crypto currency can begin at any moment, therefore it is really necessary to wait. But I even think that the beginning of growth will not be later than summer. The market has lost a lot of positions, now you need to return the lost.

Actually, not all altcoins are down if you take a look at CMC gainers/losers chart. There are some few solid ones if you look solely at their percentage increase. But I am not sure anyone should be investing in a coin that is 1k % up :) maybe, but needs a lot of research before doing that. Still you can find good coins in TOP10 gainers that has some potential to grow further.

Increasing or dropping of the price of any crypto or altcoins is a very common thing because people can get benefit by this technical up down. Some time price will be increased and some time price will be decreased and it is very much normal.

But there are always some reasons for that happens. In recent, some fake news were published of altcoins and for that people were converted their mind and started to sell all the coins and for that reason, the price was fallen. You have to careful about all thing when you joined in online dealing. Don’t do anything without investing otherwise you can be see the face of rough losses.

There are so may reason behind this much downfall in the market since last few months and the panic selling done by most of the investors and the decrease in the demand of the crypto coins in the international market are the main reason behind it but still there in nothing to be worried about because the market has started recovering and that we will able to see much better market in the days to come.

We really cannot tell when your mentioned coins will start to rise back. Perhaps what is much needed at this stage is a big news of a new partnership or a big accomplishment or a new breakthrough feature that might encourage people to start investing in their coins. But of course, we cannot fully blame the specific altcoins of their prices' drop as of today. The whole crypto market is still on the process of gaining the right footing for them to begin rising back. Let us just believe in them, have patience, and hodl.

Crypto currency is falling lower and lower. Bans Google, Facebook, Twitter. Yesterday MailChimp. All this makes nervous the hamsters, which turn the correction into a disorderly retreat on all fronts. Although I have the opinion that this phenomenon is not bad for crypto. Thus, he gets rid of weaklings, which ultimately raises his quality and creates a reserve for the future price jump.

This dropping of the market value is not only limited to that of the altcoins as the entire crypto market is facing lot of problems and that the market value of all the crypto coins is falling. However, this is just a temporary phase and that it will soon be over and a time will come when we will see the market value of the crypto coins rising even higher and that will be the time to make money from this investment.

As is often the case in most financial markets, while most newcomers tend to panic to seemingly adverse market scenarios and tend to sell their assets hastily regardless of the losses they have to bear, this is often the preferred season for smart investors, because they often find many investment opportunities at unexpectedly low prices.

To be honest I would like to be one of those who decide to enter the market to buy massively to take advantage of the great "offers", but my scarce capital only allows me to hold my coins to wait for a gradual recovery.

The continuous decline in the price of altcoins shows that the buyers are lower than the sellers. This market state is firstly due to the impact of news, followed by the manipulation of some whales, which has caused many investors to panic psychologically, thus selling at a low price Tokens, this will keep the market going lower!

The decline in prices is based on the general trend in the market and the majority occurs from investor sentiment that reflects their status in volatility. Admittedly, this year there are too many consecutive fluctuations to the crypto market. That makes the embarrassment and panic and influenced the confidence of investors. ETH decreased by nearly 50% in 2 months. :'(

I think Altcoin is declining because of the whereabouts of those who are still unknown to many of today's leading investors, there may be some possibilities of having knowledge about them but they are still hesitant for now and they want more evidence that existing members are really, I always try to explain to my colleagues and friends about altcoin and tell them that there is a great possibility of income from this type of investment.

NEM has been hacked, some say that's what affects bitcoin and other altcoins so it falls just like today.
or maybe this is just a strategy used by trading players to drop the bitcoin price

Every small increase should be a selling opportunity.
you are right every increase is an opportunity to sell and earn profits. it's a different thing if op makes a long-term investment and should not worry about this decline.
Yes, right because even now the bitcoin price has not gone up and so the altcoin price will not go up either because I know the price of altcoin always follows the bitcoin movement, let alone the bitcoin itself is very difficult to ride even though it is the best coin, as many people love bitcoin

Its all part of the emotional market cycle. No coin can go up in a straight line forever. Profit taking needs to happen so the price can come down and more people can buy in. Because humans are creatures of habit, trader's habits are illustrated in the charts. Learning some basic technical analysis can help you forecast these up and down movements. I have been doing a lot of studying of elliot wave theory over the past couple of months and I think some research in this area would help you understand these rises and falls.

I think it depends on the demand. If bitcoin keeps on going up, it only means that the majority of the demand will be on bitcoin and the demand for the other coin will be low resulting to a low price. We should take that opportunity to increase our investment on alt coins. Taking advantage of the price while its cheap is a proven strategy to be successful on crypto.

For coins like electroneum it is hard to know why they are going down, it may be that there is a volume dump happening that you have not noticed, maybe they failed in something they promised and people are losing confidence, or it is possible that it has nothing to do with BTC and the market is simply doing a self-correction, remember that not all currencies are linked to BTC or ETH, some simply follow their own rules.

All altcoins are dropping in price. This has been ongoing for quite a while now, and it is almost like it is getting worse. It is safe to say to an extent that it has been such an unfavorable market for all of us in the industry. Many, especially experts would say that the reduction in the prices of the coins is as a result of the reduction in price that bitcoin is experiencing too, that was caused as a result of actions of whales in the market.

The market condition has not been in favour of most of the altcoins at all. We have seen how these coins have suffered, and are still suffering and little wonder what the cause of this could be. It has been speculated by so many that this is as a result of a correction that is ongoing in the market, and that soon, all of this would be over, and the market will become stable again.

Because altcoins are completely dependent on the price of bitcoin, this is understandable to every participant of this forum, well, and those who have not yet realized this, you need to understand this and draw the right conclusions in this regard. I think that this will be the right decision.

Those coins will continue to drop if Bitcoin will get dump again. Sad to say but it will continue to drop once Bitcoin suddenly rise because many investors will divert their investment to Bitcoin. Only time will tell when will this altcoin recover from its previous high.

This topic was made in January, but it's the same situation now. In my opinion it will take no more than 1 month from mow and then all currencies will rise again.

I believe that all the fall of altcoins because bitcoin is falling. They all directly depend on the price and behavior of bitcoin. Therefore, all the altcoins are not stable.

Yes no doubt that most of the altcoins price very must depending on bitcoin price, if bitcoin price start decreasing we also see a big decrease in such alcoin prices, but still Its not necessary for every altcoin. i can see some good altcoins even if bitcoin price is increasing or decreasing, it cannot put any effect on price of such altcoin.

The price of the token or securities will significantly increase, if they have the demands, but the fact is the opposite the price of altcoins rely greatly on bitcoin and when bitcoin price quaked, the price of altcoins will have the same thing, people still think that the primary coin is bitcoin so that they dump their altcoin for Bitcoin.

There are a lot of different thoughts on this matter, but all the same, my idea is only that today bitcoin has bearish sentiments that affect the whole market, it's obvious things that may seem normal today, but it's not, the situation is now not very good for everyone.

I think that there are many factors that influence the situation in the market today but one of the them is simply supply and demand. to my mind, it is better to use btc and ether for the long-term hold

One of the factor that affects the dropping down of altcoin value is what the cryptoworld problem experiencing now. The market is bleeding and altcoin are suffering. The second factor I believe is that we are on the month which they called ghost month .

I think it's a side effect. Because all the prices of altcoin depend on bitcoin so if the bitcoin is reduced the price of altcoin will decrease accordingly. But the price of altcoin will drop sharply than bitcoin in this case. Wait for bitcoin to stabilize and altcoin prices will increase

Now the market is still in correction and therefore all the coins fall in price as there is no good news in the market and everything is very disturbing, so you have to wait and then there will be a result.

There has been a recent FUD series lately. But I'm not sure why it is so heavy. Rules for icos and exchanges. I do not see a problem with that and im not sure why anyone else does.

They cannot be predicted because of the nature of cryptocurrency.
If it's still down the price might be that the Altcoins are only a few enthusiasts, because that's the law of cryptocurrency economics.

and now the price of BTC has experienced a very drastic price decline since the beginning of last year, and in fact I have often encountered threads whose discussion is almost the same as this, in my opinion the decline in crypto prices in the market is due to bear markets that will eventually end, just that reason I know why crypto prices are currently experiencing a very drastic decline

In my opinion this is normal. the ups and down of the altcoins dont worry about the decreasing of price of altcoins, because one day the price of altcoins will increase again. this is my experience about crypto, the ups and down of market is normal.
Right it is normal volatility in cryptocurrencies price, the causes why alternatives coins goes down in my personal analysis is the bitcoin ETF has been rejected by SEC it has made price of bitcoin goes down be followed by all of alternatives coins price, but don't worry about it due to still there is possiblity bitcoin ETF will be accepted by SEC at the end of September 2018, don't be panic stay to hold our cryptocurrencies.

I guess we all know that being in this business you know all its features, like being volatile or its price is like a roller coaster. All that is happening right now is just normal in this business and we should not panic if we are experiencing it like today. We have to stay calm and still hold.
