"Crypto exchange hacks make consistent headlines, with industry heavyweight Binance being the latest to announce millions in losses. That’s why startup tech firm temtum is seeing momentum for its quantum cryptography tech developed for the blockchain.

temtum describes itself as a next-generation blockchain: a feeless, lightweight, peer-to-peer cryptocurrency with which anyone can support the “Temporal Blockchain” network. The Temporal Blockchain is the culmination of five years of research, 12 peer-reviewed published papers and four years of blockchain development.

The UK-based startup was founded in 2014 by Richard Dennis, CTO of Dragon Infosec, a cybersecurity and cryptography group, and lecturer at Portsmouth University’s School of Computing. At the moment, temtum’s team is speaking with tier one crypto exchanges as well as casinos about the use of quantum security tech, with more details expected to be released over the next few weeks.

We spoke with Dennis about exactly what the practical application is for quantum, both pure and applied, in the crypto world.


He explained that company’s application of quantum to security is three-fold: quantum source of randomness to select leaders; and quantum resistant algorithms for public and private keys as well as for hashing algorithms to link the blockchain. “We’ve really gone multiple levels of how we use quantum. We are one of the only tech companies in the world right now using multiple sources of quantum,” said Dennis.

In the first instance, the science of quantum physics is used to generate random numbers in a way that classical computing is unable to: “The benefit to this is quite simple: you cannot pre-guess these numbers and they are truly random. With a normal computer, if you do random number generator enough times, eventually you will see a pattern,” said Dennis.

He noted that he has previously presented research showing that he could generate the private keys of a bitcoin wallet based on having the public key, because the sequences are not actually random: by using quantum security, the ability to do the kind of attack suffered by Binance would be zero.

This underpinning pure source of randomness is based on the NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) beacon, which broadcasts a constantly changing 60-second value. It’s used in temtum’s condensed algorithm to select leaders for transaction confirmation on the blockchain: “You can never get yourself into a position where you can control the network, you can never force yourself into a position where you will be the next leader,” he explained.

In addition, temtum’s hashing algorithm, a critical component of blockchain management, is also quantum resistant: it’s passed private third-party security testing, but is not yet the standard approved by NIST.

Some of the biggest concerns arising from quantum computers stem from fears of a potential future in which they are used for breaking current cryptography methods. Most traditional algorithms can be impacted by quantum computing, resulting in a game-changing reduction in the probability of guessing the key, explained Dennis.

“The development of quantum computers is happening at an amazing rate and within the next five to 10 years we may see commercial computers capable of reducing the encryption strength,” he said"

it is very interesting to know Temtum has already been through tthe process of audit, this makes this project to be even more transparent that it already looked, am glad to be part of this project, what they have achieved already without making so much noise is really amazing, once the IEO is announce more attention will surely be on Temtum.

All details regarding IEO will be announced on a latter date, for now the team are still in private sale process and gaining media attention on the process as well, lately there are various update of Temtum in the media which is good for this project, i also wish the team can chose a better exchange for IEO because it seems some exchange are taking advantage of IEO's now to cheat projects.

Yeah it does, and while their cv is impressive, i am concerned about the fact that they are directors and not advisors. You have group of people making decisions, that have no background in blockchain or in coding. And i have no idea if they have any understanding on what exactly you are trying to achieve, or are they just on board because they are interested on the hype around the word blockchain.

Completely understand your point of view and thank you for raising the point. Let me try and answer with an entire view on the temtum project as a whole which should give a clear view on objectives.

In the crypto community in general there is a giant hole that exists between having great technology, theoretical or implemented and a revenue generating business with real world customers that doesn't rely on funds raised through an ICO/IEO to survive.

This gap exists because although we are operating in an extremely exciting market we are still in our infancy in comparison to the wider market with a relatively small customer base and this is where the directors come in, to help in connecting temtum with the global marketplace as a payment vehicle not just crypto to crypto.

While I agree crypto/blockchain expertise is the most important aspect at a technical level and we have this in Richard, Gareth and Ginger Saltos come in.

It is just an infant project, and its network just activated recent days. There is no reason to hurry too much and ask for instant success just days after its network activation. Temtum is a good project, but it actually needs more time to mature and grow. I think that we need to give the project and their team around 2 quarters (till the end of this year) to show their capability to develop Temtum.

Thank for the answer, i have to think about this. While i understand that the other parts of the machine are equally needed, i don't think that anyone who can't code should oversee any of the coding work that is the heart of the any blockchain project.

Temtum is already fully developed, It's not like other IEOs or ICOs trying to collect money to build the tech. TEM has a lot of advantages compared to other blockchains, Adoption is what's needed for TEM to succeed.

why don't you make an inventory earlier in the Temtum project, why do you have to wait on the exchange? you can join the official telemram to make an inventory early and of course you can get a bigger profit

I don't know about this news and I think they will use a quantum network for public projects, hopefully the project team can work quickly and will immediately provide detailed information about this, and don't forget to continue to support the development of the project temtum

Temporal is a quantum-secure blockchain network that uses a photon source for genuine random number generation alongside next-generation hashing algorithms. These prevent the network from being vulnerable to theoretical attacks – even in the case that quantum attacks become commonplace in the near future.

The quantum attack-resistant architecture of the temtum network uses a beacon broadcast by the US Department of Commerce National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to generate random numbers that cannot be algorithmically predicted. The NIST Randomness Beacon uses quantum effects to generate a truly random number once every minute. This random number is used as the basis to select the node that will confirm transactions on the temtum network for the subsequent minute.

temtum also features multiple, automatically started quantum effect fallback options should the NIST Beacon ever not broadcast a value 60 seconds after its last output value. This ensures that the use of true random number generation via third-party technology will never result in any network downtime.

The Beacon builds on methodology established by the NIST in a 2015 Bell test7 that confirmed the existence of the quantum entanglement effect that Albert Einstein called: 'spooky action at a distance.' Before observation or measurement, a particle exists in a 'superposition' of possible states. Observation forces it to manifest specific properties, the recorded values of which are purely probabilistic.

I know of the 3000 users trade but no idea of the volume because it has not been stated. If a good percentage maybe 40% of the deposited 85m coin is traded, it could move before August 15.

Trading has been delayed a bit because according to the Tem Admin their was a bug during the listing process in CoinAll, that has been mentioned above i think but in any case, there will be announcement regarding when trading will start again, they promise to give some update this week.

I saw on the Telegram that tomorrow TEM starts trading and depositing and we will know tomorrow what the price will be at the start of the trade.

Yes but not immediately for now only usd pairs will be available for trading, i guess this decision was mostly to keep the price stable to some extent, btc and eth pairs will be added on a latter date, between trading will be live soon lets see how it goes.

Maybe because during more than 7 months this year, altcoins have more opportunites for traders in the USD pairs, while there are very limited waves for traders in BTC pairs. Soon, Temtum team might ask for adding more pairs for TEM, but for now I think that pair is good enough for the young project.

Update! Tem currently trading at CoinAll at $0.15 at the time of posting this, this could go lot higher than current price, opening price was about $0.07, this is really looking very optimistic, bought some at $0.09, hope will be a good investment for me this year.

Yeah i agree with you, Temtum is a likeable project no doubt, i know sometimes you can't judge a project by the wp but in temtum case the wp looks very standard and convincing, then comes the team with loads of experience and qualifications, and they sure know how to be in the Spotlight,
this is definately long term, Tem will be among top 100 coin in cmc sooner than expected.

Temtum, in reality, has achieved big success just weeks after its start. Nevertheless, I agreed with you (and I believe lots of others agreed too), that Temtum has more potential to grow. Positive feelings come back to crypto investors, and when bull run starts, Temtum can take advantage of it.

Since the volume is well over 1M I think CMC will too add Temtum soon.

Coinmarketcap usually ask for at least two exchanges, with stable and high volume, to accept listing new coins/ tokens on their site. Temtum, fortunately, satisfies their requirements, and might be listed on CMC soon. I wish Temtum will appear on CMC before the end of the third quarter.

Am sure once there is enough uers trading tem on CoinAll to reach 3k target, okex will lunch tem in their exchange by then and if they can maintain a better volume there, cmc will be a breez, it is possible tem will appear on cmc sooner. very early and yet achieve alot.

Any idea why we can't trade TEM against crypto in coinall exchange? I think if they add BTC and ETH pair for TEM we might see a bit higher volume.

Maybe the team have not had enough funds for other trading pairs. Please stay calm, because more things to come. Temtum has still been in its very early phase, and from what the Temtum team have done so far, I have a strong belief that they will bring more surprise to us.

This is one of potential theory, but who knows what the Temtum team think of. I think we can enjoy the bright start of Temtum, for now, for more things, let's the future and time tell us. In Temtum, I believe, and will keep watching this project, will wait for my chances to invest when it gives  me good entry price.

This could be the reason why the team mostly pair to usd to keep price in stable condition, and i think it is working very well because since the lunch till now price is still within $0.17 - $0.18, so far there is no serious dip yet, but am sure once tem is pair to btc and eth we may likely see some dip maybe then i can pick up some tem, it will be a good entry point.

According their post in twitter its 120k TPS. But I didnt understand  - this is in testnet or in mainnet? As usually numbers in testnet are much more different than in testnet and a lot of projects had much more than 100k TPS in testnet but with mainnet launch this were much less...

Yeah saw the information earlier on and to be frank am not quite happy about the 30 days continuous wait to get paid, this is not fair on the part of the hunters, the tem team including the bm have really disappointed me in the way and manner they they go about this payment process, they are doing everything possible to delay payment and if possible reduce the value of reward participants will get, it is very disappointing for a bounty pool of 50k.

Distribution 30-60 days after bounty is finished I think it's normal and I also see bounty manager doesn't reduce allocation for bounty, in the spreadsheet everything is clearly visible

Sorry if this had been answered before but If the blockchain is completely feeless how will the project earn money to keep chain active for a long run?

I noticed that the admins are very short to respond to queries in the telegram group and even the bm is not active to answer bounty related questions, many people are having issues regarding the google form to claim their reward till now the admins have not respond,  some things are not very clear to me about the bounty computation, at what price was the reward calculated because anything can happen in terms  of price increase or decrease till 30 days time before distribution.

Complicated in this case means too many steps. We have filled the bounty form, waiting for their pm on bitcointalk to confirm, and who know what's next? Why they didn't made a all-in-one form and choose a certain time for distribuing. They just play around, 30 days to filled a form and didn't pinned that form on Telegram or some where else.

i think exchange option is best for the hunters because it reduce a lot of work temtum team and verification process is up to on the exchange. they only distribute the reward into their exchange wallets. definitely team needs time to work on that but also they have to think about to stable the price.

Well according to Hhampuz, bounty reward will be no later than this month so hopefully hunters will get their payment before end of month, besides I think this amount given to hunters can have a direct effect  on the price of tem, it is required for all hunters to fill the new form for faster resolution of pending issues.

If Temtum had their own wallet ready in time/way before announcement, This wouldn't have happened.

I dont think they should let this go this bad. Hhampuz turn his back on every and  Richard just announced that he cant do anything about it, now referring members to some else that his account is not accessible. It had been a long period but we were all waiting, have been in the group since June and was told I will leave with nothing. I believe the crypto community is still where will both be. As much as this may sound off in the ears of those who didn't receive their tem, I think we should also give some credit to the tem admins, they gave enough time for everyone to do kyc and fill the form, even when the final sheet of accepted kyc participants was published,
there was also a time given for many to fix their problem, but not many people complain then,

I know this because I complain about my address not being the right one, that day the bounty group chat was so quiet when I made my complaint that I thought I was the only one with an issue, but immediately distribution began people from no where started coming up with different complain,

I can't fault the admins in this regard because they did their best to assist participants to get their reward, especially  Richard, he even openly ask anyone with issues to pm him, he was the one who pm me and rectify my problem and he did same to many other participants.
Lots of hunters took the time given for granted and now they regret.

That's why the participants must be more careful and often see the latest information from them, and follow the rules they have applied, if it's too late then the losers are themselves by not getting rewarded according to work, hopefully there is aju bandinh for them who did it late

I don't think they had given sufficient time to everyone. Coinall users were given 2 months time whereas Shuftipro only like 5 days. They didn't announced any deadline, Oneday they decide that this the last day, WTH. It's all team's fault for this mess, They couldn't built wallet for Shuftipro kyc way ahead of bounty program. They're banning people left and right and won't pay out!

Maybe you weren't very active in the bounty group that is why you failed to do your kyc with shuftipro because even with the 5 days given many was able to pass their kyc through shuftifpro, if you are not aware of it is because you are not an active member in the chat, before the shuftipro release there was also an announcement to make all hunters aware that 31st will be date of distribution, people where prepared awaiting it, if you didn't know all this then you have yourself to blame.

Waw! The bounty chat has been restricted from posting so now those who have issues with payment can not make a complain, I know bounty related post are not allowed in the official telegram group, too bad for those who didn't get their reward, this must really sucks considering how good tem project is, even after bounty distribution the price of tem is very impressive, it is hard to find project like this this days.

I did received my stakes by completing necessary requirements as required by Temtum team. Actually, that KYC requirement was not hard to comply if we only acted in good faith so that we will never have to deal with issues in the end. Moreover, the Shuftipro KYC has been repeatedly announced in their telegram channel so that no one could miss it not unless if some of us didn't do necessary follow up on their stakes.

In light with this, I think the Temtum team has given everybody a fair chance if they are deserving to get their stakes because I think the team will not do stupid things that could hurt the image of the project and I believe they want to preserve their integrity at all cost considering the sacrifices that they've done just to build this solid project. Imho.

According to Richard distribution is done and final sheet has already been published, for those hunters who haven't receive their tem maybe because they didn't pass kyc or other reason should contact @TemTeam, maybe you can exercise patient for him to contact you but it seems chances are slim here because bounty thread already lock to attend to query.

We should see some developments from the company and this will definitely help the coin to increase its volume, most of the companies failed to deliver what they have promised. If they continue to develop what they mentioned then it will help them easily to list on the CMC.

No hurry in listing in cmc I guess. They need to develop their platform instead and expand their users. CMC is now gaining reputation of being not reliable source of info. However, being listed will somehow give an additional portfolio for the coin.

Exactly, coinmarketcap is not the ultimate goal to be achieved right or least not on top of the to-do list of the team, even without been listed on cmc tem is doing wonderfully well, cmc will be an added advantage for more exposure but even the team are not behind on spreading the news of tem far and wide, i recent watch an interview of ceo Richard on the Wide West Crypto in Vegas!!! a great way to spread the $tem project, this team knows how to be in the media, trust me.

I know that being enrolled in CoinMarketcap is not the final goal of the Tem project and I believe with the activities of the project team, I know the community here is that most of the bounty participants who support at least being listed on CoinMarket are the main needs to encourage other communities to look at the Temtum project.

Absolutely! A CMC listing or a Delta tracking app listing for that matter can provide additional exposure to the project but should not be the only focus of the team right now because I believe there are other more important things that they should attend to with regards to the project.

Zero Transaction free is no more peculiar in the space, it is getting phenomenal but dont be disappointed if adopted in later stages when adoption has increased and profit is to be taken. Look around and compare transaction fee among new altcoins with similar idea. I expect listing on OKex by now as promised.

I'm not downplaying the significance of TEM being listed at coingecko but I think it would be more helpful for the project if TEM would also be listed to CMC for added visibility and exposure.

Why unfortunately? Its a blessing that its ended. Less beggars = more time to focus on more important and civil matters. I have run calculations and it appears that a single russian nuke would be enough to wipe all bounty takers and the office building storing bounty spreadsheets and relevant databases.

so I'm gonna have to disagree with that by two points.
1 - even if it were already distributed, the difference could still be paid out afterwards.
2 - I have chosen a lock of 6 months and was therefore not rewarded yet.

Ideally and in spirit of fairness, your issue could be resolved by the team as long as it has merits but they have the final decision with regards to that and I'm hopeful they would do some kind of compromise if your issue warrants just compensation.

I was also affected in this non payment of bounty reward, i was unable to follow through with my verification process so i miss out on my reward, it feels very frustrating though after working so hard for weeks eventually you are not paid for your effort, well i can't i entirely fault the team at the same time i wish i was given a second chance to do verification to receive my reward,

Yeah i have seen the android wallet already lunched on play store but one thing i can not understand is why the wallet can be like every other normal android wallet,  why do we have to go through registration and kyc to be able to access the wallet? This aspect is what i really don't like in this wallet.

I think we will see more projects start to require kyc for all wallets soon due to the regulatory environment

Why don't you like Kyc? Isn't that good enough for security to own your personal wallet? The data that you send will be very useful if one day you experience a problem in your wallet and show that you are a legitimate person who owns a wallet

personally i would rather not have kyc done on wallet, already exchange counter the idea of crypto which anonymous and decentralization, thanks to centralized exchanges, all our personal information are not anonymous anymore, introducing kyc to wallet will be too much, after all, what is purpose to give my information to an unknown developer of a wallet?

there are many wallets out there that are very secured that don't require kyc, actually kyc has not done much in stopping exchanges from been hacked and the culprit gone free without a trace.

The developers of the wallet are not in control of the kyc data - with temtum I think it’s shuftipro - a company specialising in kyc

As for crypto being anonymous and decentralised - while that might be a nice idea - the reality is for crypto to truly succeed it needs to work with the regulators and the banks and not against them

The shufti pro kyc idea to receive tokens should have been entirely different from that of the tem wallet but like you said this is the teams idea, but base on the initial intention of crypto i don't see it as a welcoming idea to introduce kyc on wallet as well, believe me if i have an alternative to hold tem other than exchange  wallet without subjecting to pass through kyc i would gladly have that,

If regulations are required for crypto to fit in well with most financial institutions,  i think the exchange and their kyc process are already taking care of that aspect, there is no need for wallet kyc is my humble opinion. Imagine when every wallet you download will now require kyc to hold you tokens >:(

For wallets, it should remain anonymous so that personal data does not need to be submitted to the developer, except if you want security, just add 2FA verification using Google Authenticator or cellphone number only.

Sorry buddy but i am not a fan of exposing my personal data to just about anyone who ask for it, i do it occasionally because exchanges request for it, and that should be as far as it goes but for wallet app to also start demanding kyc from users,  we have 2fa to take care of wallet security.

yes, if you don't like this at the very least don't give away your personal data if you think it's not too important to use, if the application force a wallet force then don't use that wallet

As long as you were accepted on the final sheet which means your kyc submission was successful and approved then you have nothing to worry about,
I also opted for 6 month which was indicated on the final spreadsheet by Richard and acknowledge it also in my pm with him, so I guess all that is left is wait for 6 month period which will be April ending to receive the reward.

What does it matter if the date of listing was changed? tem is not the first project to change listing time and won't certainly be the last, and if you must know, deposit on liquid has been open according to Richard, so you go check it out and do some trading if you can, no need to be a hypocrite.

Everyone makes mistakes and when they realize the potential of this project they will find a way to come back and I'm glad they realized. Personally, I keep an eye on their recent activities and will make a long-term investment if there is more big news.

As long as you were accepted on the final sheet which means your kyc submission was successful and approved then you have nothing to worry about,
I also opted for 6 month which was indicated on the final spreadsheet by Richard and acknowledge it also in my pm with him, so I guess all that is left is wait for 6 month period which will be April ending to receive the reward. I believe he his, just because he hasn't been present on telegram for some time now don't indicate he is not in the team anymore,  that is why they have telegram admins to run the group even if his is absent,  he could be occupied with other activities like the upcoming CES2020, The satoshi Roundtable vi and others, am sure the guy is fully around probably pretty busy at this time,

Nothing could be more secure than privacy coins such as Ryocurrency, a project which is truly focused on privacy and decentralization. As far as I know, projects focused on these 2 things (privacy &Decenterlization) are going to survive in the end.

Yeap the project is gold. Most fools just dont realize the speculative power of a crypto bubble. When bigger movers start showing signs of reversal, smaller coins will undoubtly follow the sentiment. Among those that hold no major promises, there are always good underappreciated projects with potential. Another thing is, the forum is mostly dead, its maybe 400-500 ppl online which may contribute further to the lack of awareness and limit the coins' exposure to potential opportunity seekers.

Tem price rose as high as $0.32 at some point in February,  I think the spike in price was as a result of the national currency talk........ just my thought, but I do know very soon we can see that price because Richard the CEO is really pushing hard to make sure the national currency deal is signed and sealed,

It's true. Most of us didn't have a stable internet connection or there are places that there is no available internet signal or wifi, this right here is a great solution in those situations that is one of the factors to consider mass adoption.

I could vouch to that. Here in our place, we are troubled to find stable internet connection and if we have found one, it always happen that it is slow. Does that mean that we are not capable of technological advancement? Of course not, maybe Temtum is the solution for that specific matter which could also be used by other projects out their to execute their working product.

I bet you have heard about their lightweight proof of stake system? They are running nodes on several hardwares like cars and drones. That way, they keep their network secure, and accessible to anyone at the same time. It's eco-friendly coz they didn't consume much power like ASIC's does. If you have a car, you can also integrate it with Temtum to earn some stake and to support as well.

They launched March Last year which is a bear market, they we're pretty solid @0.35$ and I think it's a good buy now. What I have in mind is that they are preserving their funds since all of the projects who continue to develop without the right amount of funding closed and I adore their strategy. You better check their telegram channel to ask about those matter and they could answer you directly.

CMC has a different set of criteria for listing a project on their website.
I think the project must be listed on 3 different exchanges with a daily trading volume of over $50k (I could be wrong) to get listed on CMC

TEm token listed on one of best exchange Liquid exchange, if they are dead then LIQUID delist tem token but still trading on exchange that means TEMTUM still working behind the scene.
We should wait patiently or simply sell tokens and move on.

Do we still need temtum in the space? anonymous coin without other use cases may struggle to gain traction in this present market, are they providing other financial advantages similar to defi for holders. Temtum has more enemies even in this forum with the denial of bounty rewards. If the team do not resume any development or promotion by Q1 2021 it might be dangerous to hold on to the coin into the year.

So I come back to this topic again to share my information, which is today. I agreed to block my funds for 12 months, after which I had to receive TEM tokens to the account of the Coinall cryptocurrency exchange, where for this I had to provide KYC, with the provision of an international passport, since this was a special requirement. To date, communications with the team regarding my funds, and the TEM token is no longer listed on the Coinall cryptocurrency exchange. The funds blocking period expired on 31.10.2020. I don't know how to take the current situation. Perhaps they threw me.

Nevertheless it is very annoying that TemTum does not want to pay out the bounty tokens, that gives a bad light on the whole project in my opinion.

I spoke on this issue with the Bounty manager, who conducted the Bounty TemTum, and he says that his questions also stopped being answered and the team should also pay him for the work done. Thus, I believe that we will not expect any result from them. Apparently, this will be another lesson for us.

This TEMTUM is a load of shizzle. 5 years of experience in academic research and whatnot, and they dont even know that hedera is a common public blockchain albeit managed through permissioned governance. You are a little mistaken, since the project team initially demanded to provide passport data for all project participants. At the same time, everyone had the only requirement to provide a Foreign passport, and not a national identity card. Thus, many users were at a loss because of this requirement. Nevertheless, the project did not meet the expectations of users.
