1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wagering requirements for withdraw on: April 18, 2023, 02:28:38 AM
I have been on this kind of situation before and I know how it felts like it is really annoying and you feel like you are wasting your time, money and energy, but I know this is to prevent from excessive withdrawing since there are gamblers who transfers big amount of money inside their casino and will try to win whatever they are offering either the pot money and will just withdraw immediately after winning. They are preventing this kind of scenes from happening that is why mostly you have to control how much you are going to put inside the casino just in case they will put this "lock period" strategy.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can owning 1 Bitcoin make you rich in 2023? on: April 12, 2023, 06:54:50 AM
In several countries 1BTC is already considered a huge amount, but for countries like US or the first world countries, they'll just consider that as a decent amount of money though it is still arguable. Well, I could say that since, if we talk about 1BTC here in our country, you are already considered a millionaire, but in your countries that is mostly your annual income, while here? our annual income couldn't even reach 1/4 in your country. So in the end it's not that you will be rich automatically but that is already a huge money to everyone, and knowing the possibilities and potential of bitcoin, 1BTC can greatly change your life in the future not only in 2023.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am now a Bitcoin investor on: April 10, 2023, 03:56:24 AM
I recently purchased 0.0045 Bitcoins which is still present in my trust wallet I believe with me owning a fraction of the worlds Bitcoin although a very tiny fraction in practical I am now a crypto currency investor  in essence a Bitcoin investor
If you are a person who has just bought Bitcoin and kept it in your own trusted wallet, I will not consider you a Bitcoin investor as long as you don't use Bitcoin or invest it in a certain company. Because if you are only limited to buying and keeping in your wallet, you are not much different from Holders and also from traders who also try to save for a while before they sell it back to the market. So there's no need to consider yourself an investor if your effort is to save before selling again.

That is not the way to welcome a newbie to the community. At least he has started his venture in the bitcoin community.
Now that he has started, he will get to know more about it and may be then he will be able to decide what more to do with his coins.
Besides that what more do you want from a person if he is already holding some portion in bitcoin. That's how things start.
Exactly! At least he heard about bitcoin and bought one, and since he is new to this kind of industry of course it is only expected that he only has bitcoin. We shouldn't rain on his parade and at the very least let's welcome him and celebrate his first step on bitcoin and crypto industry. When I first encountered bitcoin too, all I know is that it could be used as other payment methods online aside from paypal at that time. After venturing and staying in the industry for a couple of months, that's when I learned that bitcoin's price can increase and it is possible for you to hold it since it will appreciate in value over time. That is also when I gathered more information on how I can effectively earn more money to buy for more bitcoin, at that time also I learned bunch of useful things like trading in the market using alt coins or even bitcoin, doing side hustles to buy bitcoin, claim those faucets hourly and so much more.
4  Other / Meta / Re: Spammers and Burst Posters only on: April 08, 2023, 11:37:55 AM
Lately I have noticed lots of complaints regarding burst posting and spammers, IDK what do you guys think about a burst poster or a spammer, but I have an average of 8-12 hours a day staying in the forum and with a 15-30 minutes post gap I should say I can make at least 15-20 posts a day depending on my mood. Though for sure there will be people here saying depending on a topic or "you don't care about the topic as long as you can post" thingy.

Why do you consider everyone a spammer who posts a certain large number of posts each day ? There can be people who may post 10 or 12 (maybe more) posts per day and yet all of those posts are constructive ones. There can be a person who post only 3 or 4 posts a day with 1 hour gap and yet his posts may be useless and spam.

In order to identify the spammers, Look for the Quality of posts first over the quantity of posts. Yeah, I agree that burst posting will affect the quality of posting as you won't be spending much time writing / reviewing your posts.

That makes sense since if I were to choose between posters I'd rather choose good quality posts which are relevant to the topic, and there is also a chance that a specific member is just actively participating on the discussion and he is also contributing on that topic. It isn't fair if that person would be labeled as a burst poster right? He/She should also know what he is doing in the forum and of course would also know the rules.

(Edit. If someone happens to give merits to this thread, I'll be using it to help our local section Pilipinas to generate merit cycle. As it happens that our local section is active but the merit cycle isn't, besides that, we also don't have merit source due to various complications. Thanks in advance)

I don't think it is the right way and it indirectly suggests that you are asking for merits but telling where you may spend them. If people like your post, they will merit it and you can spend them wherever you like. Smiley

I don't mind if somebody reading this would misinterpret it and it is also not right to say that I am not indirectly asking for merits, coz that's what already there is on the first post and I am also aware that begging for merits is subjective to red tags. This is just an "if ever", coz it is still their choice whether they'll give me or not, or whether I deserve that kind of merit. It's not like I just made this topic on purpose of asking merits without participating on the discussion. I am just honestly and genuinely curious to your perspective here on this forum as to what you guys consider as a burst poster. I am also very aware that the replies here on the discussion could even have merits than the thread. I only did it as some kind of exclamation. Both of us too are aware that asking for donations is the same as begging. I hope this doesn't offend anyone  Cheesy.
5  Economy / Economics / Re: Rules of Taxes on: April 08, 2023, 09:37:20 AM
We all know that all citizens in all corners of the world must be taxpayers. Let me say about taxes in my country:
1. vehicle tax
Obliged to pay once a year, but there are also those who do not pay and the authorities also do not come to the taxpayer's house and in the end it is left abandoned
2. Land tax
Once a year the authorities will come to the taxpayer's house to collect taxes
3. Income tax
This will be my concern this time, whether all countries treat the same rules or not, I want to hear from all of you.
Income tax in my country in general will be very effective for employees of government agencies, offices and entrepreneurs. Let's say this, everyone earns whether it's from farming, freelancing, or any kind of work that isn't recorded at the tax office, if they don't report it to the tax authorities then they are exempt from tax. However, there is a provision that if someone has ever borrowed a large amount of money from a bank, even though the borrower was not notified by the taxpayer at first, in the end he was exposed to the taxpayer's accumulation of taxes over the years and he didn't know.

I mean this tax regulation seems uneven and it seems that people who have to pay taxes are people who deal with large amounts of money. Let's say a farmer in 1 harvest (3-4 month) earns $2000, he will remain tax free if not registered or he doesn't register it whereas an employee from the start is already registered with the taxpayer even though their monthly salary is $300. What do you think? I'm a little confused with this tax rule.
Farmers still need to pay taxes, since that land is also an income generator land, they will impose bigger taxes by estimating how much they can farm and earn on that land along with their land tax. Based on my own understanding of things, they will pay in accordance with the same concept as how business establishment are being taxed. In my country it is hard to launder money if you are not connected to some big time firms or you don't have any backers since even if you earn something from your freelance, all the banks and even the service providers (custodial wallets) requires you to verify and will ask you where that money came from and they will set limits into your account depending on what information you will provide them during verification. So if it happens that your incoming transaction exceeds the limits of your account, you will be asked certain questions or most commonly you will be limited in withdrawing will wait for a couple of weeks or months to reset your withdrawal limits.

7  Economy / Economics / Re: Money and education on: April 07, 2023, 01:17:07 PM
Money and education which one of these is advisable to achieve?
The main purpose of everything is to earn money.  A person gets higher education because he wants to earn more money and live a luxurious life. So if you can earn huge amount of money and have a source of passive income then education cannot be more important than that money. Education alone will not bring you a luxurious lifestyle if you don't have money. So money is most important in all cases.

Quote
They constantly say education is the key to success but in my country today many graduates don't have a job, and most of them are still fed by their parents, and that's not the way it's supposed to be.
Education is said to be the key to success because the more educated a person is the more knowledge he acquires. And an educated person can always adapt himself to all situations. And education awakens a person's emotional consciousness and increases self-esteem.

Quote
again they also said money is potency and fondness. Yes, money is power even if you are not a graduate or you haven't been to college before and you have the money you can even employ a graduate to work for you.
Presently now in my wonderful fatherland NIGERIA 🇳🇬 I can see the power of money.
Please any advice?
Yes it is true that nothing is more powerful than money and if you have no education but you have huge money you can hire a graduate degree person for your job.  And he will call you as Boss or Sir. It is not only in Nigeria but in many countries of the world there is such a problem and the only reason for this problem is high unemployment in the country. And to overcome this problem, the number of entrepreneurs in the country should be increased And do not run after the job.  Must be a businessman
To sum this all up, it is true that education can open up new opportunities for you, but I know most of you knew this advise from popular figures, entrepreneurs and even enthusiasts which is "getting out of your comfort zone". Nowadays you can no longer say that your future is secured once you graduate, since you are not the only graduate to that course and as much as I hate to say this, there are only few opportunities given to people specially in low income countries. That is why, getting out of your comfort zone applies not only to your lifestyle but also in the way you look for opportunities. Who know maybe what will give you stable source of income isn't related to what you have studied back in school.
8  Economy / Economics / Re: Money and education on: April 07, 2023, 07:38:39 AM
If I were to answer this sarcatically, I'd say I would choose both no matter what happens, coz who would decline both? Both of them are important, but if the question is which will you choose first, I'd probably choose education first. My reason is that, nobody was born educated and as the current situation we have here and even different parts of the world, education is not mostly free to access. That means you have to sacrifice/spend enough money to acquire good education. Though it cannot guarantee your success it will give you options in finding money.
9  Economy / Economics / Re: Should you save, when you are wealthy? on: April 02, 2023, 11:49:31 AM
From your title savings doesn't only mean when you are wealthy, as a matter of facts wealthy people doesn't think of savings they think of investment where to channel those money whenever they are wealthy because one thing i believe is that, rich people talks of what will generate money for them while poor people think of work to keep them earning. The rich people think of wealth creation what will keep them afloat whenever its too tough for them to scale through life.  In summary think of what will keep generating money for you than savings because i know too well that those money might got finished whenever you stop working to keep filling your saving account.
I've never heard of rich people prioritizing savings before investment, and I've never heard them took savings seriously. As what I can see from those people, they only treat savings as an emergency cash or spare money just in case something happens to them in real life or even on their investments. In the end it is all for their investments again.

Our perspective of savings are different, just for example, me that came from a poor family, of course I'll save enough money for my investment or to buy important things or my priorities. I need to save money and calculate even the smallest cents so that it wont go to waste. However, rich people will just invest almost 70% of their money while the rest goes to savings.

11  Economy / Economics / Re: Should you save, when you are wealthy? on: April 01, 2023, 08:51:31 AM
I think in the end saving is not good if done for the long term, you can see that the amount of money is not limited, so instead of increasing but every year our money continues to decrease because its value continues to fall, unfortunately I am also not rich yet, so I share my knowledge have here.
That has a point, our money which has been printed a lot of times and added a lot in the circulating supply in the economy gives that feature of depreciation and that's acceptable because that's what will happen if money has been printed unlimitedly.

Now, we're understanding the concept of having a limited supply and unlimited supply which we've also learned in projects that we've seen in the market.

Long term, saving is a good practice because it develops you as a person to be conscious of the importance of having something in your pocket and in preparation for the rainy days.
The most worrying part is that, everyday the prices of all the goods and necessities are increasing specially those what we basically needed the most, and what makes it worst is that the daily wages are not even increasing while your needs are almost impossible to buy. This is what basically some of the analysts saying that "the cost of living is almost killing the living". Right now is the literal meaning of survival of the fittest, and having a job right now is no longer enough to sustain your family not unless you are working above the minimum wage which you can barely survive. Inflation isn't the only thing that causes a lot of problems in the economy, also the lack of job opportunities results into so many jobless people living in every country. The government can only support a few people but the there are thousands if not there are millions of people who doesn't have a job and still trying to find one.
12  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people stay poor? on: April 01, 2023, 07:17:34 AM
I have always wanted to ask this question is it that there is no opportunity or they do not want to get rich
Mate please more to this I am confused here.

Being poor is not a choice- sometimes it is a mix of the failure of the system and the lack of any education on the part of the person. If there is one thing I realized while living in a third-world country, it is that being hardworking does not necessarily guarantee a bright future. Sometimes, the system forces a person to be poor despite being hardworking in his life.

Personally, I have witnessed several persons who are very hardworking but the opportunity for them to become rich is not there. The system fails the people in terms of providing better job opportunities and lifestyle in order to at least limit the burden of these people. For example, wages in a third-world country are relatively low and the costs of goods are very high, which prejudices these people greatly.
Sometimes the low-class family in superior nations are already considered rich in 3rd world countries. Being poor is not someone's fault even the word "staying poor" is not their choice, coz if they can choose to live a better life why not? It's just that they aren't given enough opportunities for them to change their life. I have personally experience myself being compared to other children's family, usually my grandma would say "look at him being a seafarer, engineer, teacher, police echetera... surely they have high wages and changed their lifestyle unlike you". Sometimes the pressure of being compared to someone can lose a person's confidence instead of using it as an inspiration. I have lived a life with a poor environment, and I understand them why they wanted me to be like other people, but even if they'd force me to be one, I won't.

I have also seen a lot of my batchmates trying hard to strive for their education but in the end, they didn't pursue their career due to lack of opportunity. I am not discouraging anyone who's struggling about their education, but in all honesty, once you graduate, it is up to you on how handle your life, not anyone even your family can do anything if there is no opportunity present. That is why some of my batchmates decided to work abroad coz they've realized that there's a huge lack of opportunity here in my country and even if there are, the competition is extremely huge and most of the time it requires a ton of money. In the 3rd world country, there's this popular saying that "if you want to have money, you need to have money", though it is absurd, once you live in this kind of environment it does make sense.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is an asset. on: April 01, 2023, 03:50:30 AM
The only people who consider Bitcoin as an asset are those who believe that the value given to it by markets/speculation is so significant that it should be considered one. In reality, it does not work like an asset. Your car is an asset. You can not instantly transfer your car to someone overseas. Your car can not change hands with 10 people in a matter of 1 day. Similarly, your fiat in the bank is not an asset. It is not something you aim to store for a long period of time without touching it. Yes, it fluctuates with the price of other competing currencies, but does that make it an asset? You make the money in your bank ultimately to spend it on things like assets. Bitcoin is the same. Eventually, you will probably use Bitcoin to pay for your groceries, assets like cars, appliances, etc., give your kids an allowance and so on.

Bitcoin is a currency and its price is only volatile due to market speculation and instability of fiat currency

I know that the point of the OP isn't to start the asset/currency debate. Though I've replied in this way because calling Bitcoin an asset is wrong.

In my opinion, bitcoin is an asset, a currency, a safe haven like gold… it all depends on how you use it. When you use it as a payment method, pay bills, or buy goods, it's currency; when you use it for profit, it's an investment; when banks keep failing, and you need an alternative, it's a safe haven. Bitcoin is all you want, Bitcoin is not just a currency or an asset. OP is not wrong to call it an asset, and you are not wrong to consider it a currency either.

You cannot call it as a "safehaven" like gold because bitcoin has volatility that cannot be compared to other assets. Safehaven is a term that defines a security, which means that your money or the value is safe in any given situations. Remember that there are situations in the cryptocurrency market that is considered as really bad and those times a lot of coin are keep dumping and for me it is the reason why you cannot call it a safehaven. For me, bitcoin is an asset that can potentially help you to achieve financial freedom. I really mention the word "potentially" because there are no certainty in this high volatile market.

Potentially means that you can only make money if you understand the basic price patters, how it works, the foundation and also basic knowledge not only about bitcoin but also about technical analysis. When you have these kind of skills, you can potential make money that can help you to be financially stable.
It's a given that he thinks this way since the OP is still at the beginning of his journey in Bitcoin, once he has enough knowledge, for sure he won't be contented sitting around waiting for the next turn. I am sure he will find another way to increase his income or maybe he will find something for him to start practicing the things that he learned so far such as what you've said "technical analysis".

I won't judge the OP by his decision on selling his property for the sake of a volatile investment because it's his choice, but just like you do, I wont consider bitcoin as a "safe haven" just like what he sold in exchange for high volatility asset.
14  Economy / Economics / Re: Money as a store of value... on: March 31, 2023, 03:05:54 PM
You were right that paper money has a value, and it can be stored, we cannot argue with that, but the question is, does that amount you put in the bank still the same as the time comes? Let's put it simply this way, $1,000 is already enough in our family to survive whole month or even more, but do you think that figure will be enough in the future? Considering the constant rise of the prices in all the basic needs everyday do you think in the next 5-10 years that amount is significant? I don't think it is. That is the same situation even if you put that amount inside the bank, and guess what? for sure you'll earn percentage depends on how much you deposit by what method? Banks are going to play your money by example lending other people and giving them interest rates as their profit, and the duration? In my country it has minimum of 3 months, so let's just say they can lend it 4 times a year with 2% interest per loan, they have 8% APY just using your money and you get the 2% because that's what the bank promised when you put your money for time deposit. In short, they have 6% profit without lifting a finger and only using words and papers.

That's just a basic breakdown for an individual putting money inside a bank, so how much money does the bank have if all of you guys put your money at the same time? 100% profit isn't impossible to make if we're talking about banks, but that's just them not the individual whose blood and sweat being poured just to make "savings" for their future plans.
This is basically what happens in my country, but most of my fellow citizens lack options as to where they will put their mone. That is why they don't have that much options and choose to put it in bank instead. They'd usually think the bank is taking care of their money and it is secure enough to just let the bank manage their finances. With this simple breakdown you have, I'm sure a lot of people who are new to crypto would think twice into putting their money inside the banks.

Based on my current experience there are some banks who are slowly introducing crypto to their users, so I guess it wont be long enough until new users will try to delve into crypto.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons why I might consider selling my Bitcoin. on: March 31, 2023, 02:05:45 PM
I do agree that some reasons can push you into selling your bitcoin, but from all those reasons probably having issues with your health, lost of the source of income, and having issues with government are the most particular reasons for someone selling their own savings/bitcoin. In my case as long as it isn't related to health of issues with the government I wouldn't sell my bitcoins and hold it as long as possible.
As for me, Bitcoin is not intended for forever holding as I consider having Bitcoin just like my saving so every time I wanted to sell them due to some important reason, it was there to save me and fill my needs. And OP has that kind of view, they'll never think about taking a loan and making debt but rather use his Bitcoin. May some people saying it was wrong decision but at least he did what is best for him than committing debts which in fact, there is an option for not doing it.

Me too, bitcoin is money, and it is to serve us, there is no reason to keep it forever while our lives are in trouble. If there are difficulties, I will also not hesitate to sell my bitcoins as long as it helps me overcome difficulties and solve problems in life. Bitcoin is indeed a worthy investment and a valuable asset.
Yes you are right about that. I also didn't mean that I'm gonna hold it forever and not try sell it. Right now the only bitcoin I'm holding are the profits that I accumulated over the course of years (of course I tried getting some of my profits from time to time due to some personal needs), but all of those are already considered good ol profit. The main purpose of bitcoin is to be used as a currency and most of us are using that purpose, and it isn't something to be regretful.

I have made my excuse here.

I'll have to ask franky1 to not derail this particular thread with mixers as it's completely irrelevant. If he didn't like my behavior, he can open up a new thread and complain there.
I'm not fueling the fire or something but I just wanna say something about this. Mixers are not officially illegal, but the way how the government see it as a method to do something illegal is of course something that cannot be brushed aside. As long as the government views it that way, confiscating ang seizing those mixers will always be there. We all get the point and understand that mixers are only providing services for their customers, but the government doesn't care even if you are innocently running these business as long as it against their belief, it will always be illegal to them.

In regards of requesting moderator in Greek board, It feels like it has slowly transformed into politics. Not that I complain about that coz it has nothing to do with me, I just felt that it has slowly turned into a different story.

It's not an unwritten rule, but just a subjective matter.
An unwritten rule is like how someone want to send his sMerit, you can give 50 merits in one post by satoshi and no one will care about it. But if you give 50 merits in one post by brand new newbie, someone will create a new thread in Reputation.
I can already see someone doing that in Reputation section hahahaha.

It's fine, there's no rule you're broke here. I will say that's a trick how you really want to give a gap time from one to another, there's no trace you leave if you use this.
Replying in the same thread or not I still leave gaps. IDK about other but that's just how I post. I have also seen back then someone being scolded for replying all the posts individually when you can just quote them instead.

While some regular members may think a 20 minute gap between posts is fine, campaign managers are more concerned in the visibility of the signature on different hours throughout the day.
If the user only post in the same thread, it's make sense the posts should have a gap time, but if the poster is create post in different thread/section, I don't see any difference why it's need a gap time.

There're still people like me who leaves gaps in their posting time even if it's on different thread not just to be considered a spam maybe it's  just some sort of hobby or maybe they just wanted their account latest/past posts to be clean just like in my case.  Grin
19  Other / Meta / Re: Spammers and Burst Posters only on: March 31, 2023, 02:43:07 AM
There is so much to quote so I'll just reply generally. First of, by staying in this forum doesn't mean I refer this as regular job coz I am not paid staying here to be honest, and there's no campaigns yet that are accepting me, maybe due to I didn't have enough merits or so but regardless, currently I didn't have a job due to personal reasons, the same reason why I stayed home and watch over the house, and since I don't have anything to do whole day, much better if I spend it here on this forum right? instead of watching TV series whole day I'd rather make it more productive.

In regards to all of those replies, I've read all of your replies and most of you didn't matter how long the post gap is as long as the reply is relevant to topic. In short, most of you guys are actively contributing in this community and more importantly you guys have different perspective when it comes to post. See? This is the reason why I asked this in the first place, coz way back then each campaign managers have different standards when it come to post activities within a day, but now although not a lot has changed, each member here on this forum have different opinions in regards of what is considered burst posting. Therefore I conclude that it had became an unwritten rule here, correct me if I'm wrong.

I have remembered back then whenever there's a topic that I wanted to post/reply I'll write a draft ready to be posted and just wait for the time to hit 10 mins or so just because I don't want to consecutively post replies. Sometimes I would even open multiple tabs and reply at the same time but will just wait after few minutes before clicking post. Is what I did back then forbidden? To be honest there isn't anyone I knew where I could ask that question, and it's bugging me for years coz maybe I'd get banned or something.

Tingin ko pwede naman sigurong gumamit ng "hiram na salita" para mag salin ng wika galing ingles. So much about that, hindi talaga pwedeng pagsabayin ang privacy at batas ng gobyerno.
