The most obvious implication of PayPal’s rumored expansion is adoption — if a financial service with 325 million active users starts listing digital assets, it is likely to make crypto more viable in the eyes of the financial mainstream. Mashinsky argued that it will consequently drive the price of BTC and Ether (ETH) up significantly, “as the scarcity of the coins will play a big part when adoption comes.”

Coeuré, however, denied that he had seen evidence of what some are calling an arms race for a CBDC, especially between China and the U.S.

“I don’t think there’s a race, really,” Coeuré said. “At this stage, we just want to learn from what the others are doing.”

Recent actions in June saw Zhan gain ground in the confrontation as he resorted to force, and now appears to have gained enough control to at least partially disrupt Bitmain’s operations, which was until then working normally.

Has anyone had issues with their Trezor?

Whats the best place to go to get fast customer service?

Well, I'm not a trezor-er, but I think my first course of action would be to load my seed into another BIP44 wallet.

Yeah, I did that for a few years. It was worth it for the education alone though I was able to stack a reasonable stash from it. However, it was a time sink and running the numbers it made more sense to cash out and reinvest directly in coin. There's fiat cost as well as opportunity cost to consider. If it's something you enjoy as a hobby then sure go for it, but personally I've got other things I'd rather do with my time at this point. If the ROI for mining was significantly better than just buying directly that would be a different story.

That might be true but for an enthusiast to own a rig and change mining options switching from one crypto to another as and when feels appropriate to maximise income - it is not a bad idea too.

If you've got enough money to be able to invest in a mining rig you'll be better off just buying directly BTC and/or ETH.

Anyone else having problems connecting to bitcoinwisdom.io or bitstamp.net?

I ran the win7 connectivity troubleshooter and it says I'm properly configured but microsoft.com isn't responding.

I'm able to connect to some sites just fine. I'm assuming it has something to do with my ISP but I can't contact him without leaving the safety of our property, crossing town, and taking a chance that he's home.

I'll try some other price tracking sites.

No issues with either link here.

If the military should be called in, it should be against rogue law enforcement who answer protests against law enforcement brutality with more law enforcement brutality.

I should never be used against the public, especially protesters.

Individual officers/agents must be identified and personally held accountable. They shouldn't be allowed to hide behind their badges and uniforms.

Don't give us any of that crap about "just following orders". Nuremberg indeed.

This, all day everyday 1000x. We've allowed the police culture of us vs. them to grow unaccounted for way too long. The force needs a top down thorough scrubbing and retraining.

Well some high profile studies do say that police brutality is linked to the 1033 weapons transfer program. There's a lot more that has been said on this subject over the years, so much so in fact that I find it hard to believe you have not seen the link before.

Earlier this year [article is from 2017], a study conducted by researchers from Harvard, Stanford, Cincinnati, and Gardner‐Webb concluded that the Pentagon’s 1033 weapons transfer program made participating departments more likely to engage in deadly violence. After receiving 1033 gear, departments were more likely to kill civilians as well as dogs.

As for policy, our results suggest that implementing the EO to recall military equipment should result in less violent behavior and subsequently, fewer killings by LEAs. Taken together with work that shows militarization actually leads to more violence against police (Carriere, 2016; Wickes, 2015), the present study suggests demilitarization may secure overall community safety.

Weak argument.

The gear fosters a mindset. The mindset fosters conflict. The conflict fosters brutality. This shouldn't be hard to understand.

Also, no one has claimed limiting the 1033 program will make police brutality disappear completely. The data however says it would help. Reduction is a good goal.

Blame the newcomer, not the 50 year career politician running for office for the umpteenth time or the Clinton / Bush houses who suddenly are angels of morality.

I don't think power reveals at all. In fact the opposite is more true.

I think the ones who really have power are better at hiding their true intentions and hunger for power behind words, propaganda and deflection.

They did. Trump reversed it.

The move rescinds limits on the Pentagon handouts that were put in place by President Barack Obama in 2015 amid a national debate over policing touched off by a spate of high-profile deaths of black men at the hands of the police, including the shooting death in 2014 of 18-year-old Michael Brown, in Ferguson, Mo., by a white officer. Some local residents viewed police use of military equipment during the ensuing protests as an unnecessary show of force and intimidation.

In a speech to the Fraternal Order of Police in Nashville, Mr. Sessions said Mr. Obama had made it harder for the police to protect themselves and their neighborhoods.

Oh you are so right, I forgot that Obama passed that law about outlawing cops putting a knee on someone's neck for 8 minutes, and Trump reversed it...   /s  Roll Eyes

So if you want to debate, try not to make yourself look too foolish.

There already are laws against murder. Hence the cops being charged for violating it. You wrongly assert with your cute little meme that Obama's administration did nothing to stop police brutality. I showed you evidence they did, and that it was reversed by Trump/Sessions. Your response is to move the target and insult. You are not wanting debate, you are wanting confirmation of your own uneducated opinions.

No you didn't. Zero evidence, in fact.

"Putting restrictions on military hardware used for Police departments"

*does not equal*

"Ending systemic racism and police brutality".

Do you want to try again, or are we done debating?
