How I'd love to see the shop owner's face when I tell her that the 1 BTC I bought in 2015 from her shop's newly installed Bitcoin ATM (then worth $220), is now worth $500k.   

I may pay her a visit when this happens. I do hope she bought some BTC for herself...

Which apparently is largely relying on P2P data from paxful and local bitcoins which may not tell the full story.

Of course, there might be better sources that attempt to show the trading volume of more p2p trading places, too.

Max has been a bullish nutjob in the space for a quite a long time... like around 10 years or so.  Of course, sometimes he is nuttier and more outlandish than at other times, but largely he has been directionally correct, even while some of his specific have sometimes been a bit off, while he frequently proclaims to get quite a bit right, which probably contributes to his being perceived as being ongoingly overly excited..    

Overly bullish or overly excited in the positive direction does not really bother me very much, especially given what asset class and actual dynamics we are talking about in bitcoin, which remain faucking amazing on an regular mindtripping basis... I hardly can believe it myself (sometimes I have to slap myself    ), in terms of what I have been witnessing in the past 6.5 years or so (in terms of both reviewing and learning bitcoin-related history and even how development, adoption and theoretical discussions have been playing out).

Some are now speculating over a dump, but no-one in their right mind with 100K Bitcoin would be dumping on the open spot market surely. The price would literally go to zero based on combined order book liquidity being less than $933m. It therefore wouldn't even be possible to sell it all using all exchanges, you'd still be short around 6K BTC 

Looks like they just chipped off 5K Bitcoin for some other purpose, possibly an OTC trade, similar to the initial 100K transaction in April when 5K was also put elsewhere. Both 5K transactions haven't ended up to exchanges yet. Good chance this is an exchange wallet imo. Thoughts?

I think its about setting a narrative too " BTC Acceptance in Africa" sure they could have done better job by digging more but seems fine to me as long as numbers are going up, Sub Saharan African map looking good there anyway.

But if you want a real paradise for all crypto lovers come to Croatia and visit BitcoinStore, buy/sell crypto without any ID/KYC in the amount of 15000 HRK (2000 EUR) daily. If even that is not enough, hold your coins for at least 2 years after purchase and pay exactly 0% tax after sale

Following up to your above post, Lucius, perhaps Croatia was amongst the earlier (not the first, as you had said in a couple of your other posts) countries to really get into expanding bitcoin offerings through its post offices.

I just noticed that Daniel91 started such thread on the topic of the Croatian post office offerings in July 2019.  Initially it appears that the offer was only in one post office, and they would buy bitcoin and 4 other cryptos (aka shitcoins) with a 4% fee.  I noticed that you have a few posts in that thread too, Lucius.

Danial updated the status in January by asserting that bitcoin offerings in Croatia post offices had expanded - even though it started out as a kind of pilot project.  There was a notice that issued in mid-December that described that the expansion had gone to expanding the selling of bitcoin and the four other cryptos and expanded from 3 post offices to 55 post offices, and there seems to be some plans that the ability to buy (also) will be added at a later date, soon.^tm  You could translate this article to English.

In the beginning it was just a pilot project and this service was available only in the 3 local post offices in Zadar.
Now, this service, crypto exchange, is available in all main post offices in Croatia, in every city in the country.

Oh yes, bad idea, although I don't think she's the wrench-type girl! She's pretty too, and sweet. But the prospect of several $M can do a lot of things to people, so better be VERY careful when that $500k/BTC time comes...

I remember, I bought my first Bitcoin from her, kept it in a wallet app on my phone, and forgot about it (thinking I'd just wasted $220). After 3 months I launched my wallet app and saw the balance was $350+, at which point I arranged a visit to her shop and bought 3 more coins. She even suggested we do a wallet-to-wallet transaction (bypassing the ATM), which we did. I think the ATM company had given her access to a wallet for larger amount transactions.

So, yeah, she knows way too much about my Bitcoin activities... A $5 wrench is too damn cheap. And too damn effective!

It's coming from 3ECJwvx9VgfotcUuEJMVNvmWnTGVMk179L address which had 59.015 transactions, so most likely some exchange, they've been chipping off 5.000 chunks as they move it around

The Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) has launched an inquiry into whether the user data TikTok collects represents a national security risk. If this becomes a full-blown investigation it could even put the sale of the title, which was originally a US app called Musical.ly, in jeopardy.

I've no doubt trump would love to shut TikTok down. LMFAO

But even though it looks like India is doing it because of the border clashes the side effect of protecting its people from these invasive apps is a nice benefit that hopefully will spill over to other nations.
