As you can see my main hesitation with the project is overwhelmingly the real estate project.
To Alty: I am not mad that you have been involved with coins in the past, I do not mind others being involved with coins or developing new technology, I think that is good for the community in general. But I do have to question this real estate business opportunity because it is not fully fleshed out whatsoever it seems like an add-on like many coins have had in the past but ultimately these coins fail to relate business opportunity with the community at large because there is little to no transparency. I do not think you are a bad person and I'm not attacking you. I just cannot see how this business opportunity can be realized with the information in front of me. I like that Rise has reached out to me but it still has not squashed my main concerns.
This week I'm going to publish a comprehensive list of facts and figures related to Acre and how it would work. However, I think you've completely missed the point here. Acre is a bonus for Rise holders should we raise enough in the ICO.
It's not THE reason to buy Rise, the blockchain technology aspect is. Anyway, I'll pull some numbers together and post them on the blog so you and others can see how it's intended to work in more precise detail. I reached out to you via a Skype over one week ago and also via email and unfortunately you didn't respond. Hopefully we can get this situation and any concerns that you may have resolved asap. |

The rest of the old cloak dev team are all working on non crypto related businesses so I hardly have any contact with them. I asked Dasource if he'd be interested in sitting in on some Rise team discussions because of his crypto and blockchain experience but also being a good friend. He's not officially a team member yet but I'm working on it because he'd be a great asset for Rise! |

is the cloakcoin story true?
I was the founder of cloakcoin. We invented, exchange anon but more importantly proof of stake anonymity, in wallet trading and the concept of one market, a decentralized market... but the anon system didn't pass audit first and second time with versions posav1 and posav2... the third time my developer left me. I had no choice but to hand over the closed source code to a very good guy called Cashmen, he's the new dev team for cloak. I actually tweeted about this the other day... hope this provides some insight; read my comments at the bottom.

where is Rise located, France? Not a cheaper economy to develop this project out of. definitely more funding needed.
Rise team is located mainly in the US and France, certainly not cheap economies! We didn't set a minimum cap to be raised for the tech development. The reasoning for that was Justin, Hooper and any other coders that come on board, can do it with very little funds. If the funding is minuscule it would mean that Rise would become a part time project as opposed to full time. For a part time project the roadmap will be completed over a much longer time period because development will be slow, the coders would have to work other jobs to pay their living expenses, there's no way around that. However, we have high hopes to finish the ICO with a reasonable amount of funding, enough so we can get development completed at a pace that will please investors. Thanks everyone for participating! 95 btc in a few days is not to be laughed at and there is still almost 4 weeks left. 3 days left of 20% bonus before changing to 15%.what will you need to raise to make this a full time project to get it to market reasonably quickly? Justin finished a roadmap that he shared with the rest of the team last night. It estimated completion times for various steps, I'll leave that to him to make the roadmap public, which should be soon. i.e maybe even today! Using the roadmap he should be able to work backwards and provide a more accurate figure than myself... mine would be more of a loose guesstimate and I don't want to get into trouble for getting it totally wrong! It would be better if you divid them with amount of translations (at the moment 19) then we would get more  Yes. To limit translation bounty at 5,000 RISE per translation was not the initial terms. They was 200,000 RISE for translations, without limits. If you want to limit, you can fix a minimum of 5,000 RISE per translation, even if their number exceeds 40 (unlikely) :-). I went back through my initial announcements and you are correct. Even though in our minds we were capping translations at 5,000, somehow it was not written into the initial announcement. I think that was Alty's fault. We can blame him. Actually it was my mistake so I have spoken with the team and we are uncapping this. It will be divided evenly. Acre is intended to be a real (brick and mortar) business that will be founded once the ICO has completed. This means there will be a registered company number and company directors who are accountable to everyday running of the company and legal framework based on the country in which Acre will be founded. In this case Acre would be created in France and therefore abide by French law.
Depending on the success of the ICO it will allow Acre to take place. If there is enough btc to cover legal expenses and initial development then Acre will be founded. If there is not enough raised during the ICO we can attempt to launch it later on down the road. To protect the Rise team we will be taking full legal advice to make sure everything we do with Acre is 100% legal and not going to land anybody in trouble.
Acre will be a property development company that's sole purpose is to generate profit in the Real Estate sector.
Most of the work during the construction would be completely in house (for initial projects). That's a very interesting idea - especially when tied with the Dapp functionality and the up-and-coming Internet of Things. Particularly in the area of economies, like power- and heat-saving, there's lots of scope for a Dapp-included cryptocurrency to aid and push forward the smart-house revolution. I know there are already smart thermostats and such that lower the heat after everyone's gone to sleep. But imagine a smart thermostat, which (say) lowers the sleepy-time temperature to 15 degrees in a house where the sleeping areas have insulated doors with air-blockers to keep the heat in the rooms - and which can be overridden by paying some Rise. In a sense, the "house" is compensated for it being set to deliver "too much" heat relative to the norm. The same thing could be done for electricity. Want to use the range stove instead of the microwave oven or a tabletop mini-oven ("toaster oven")? Then you "compensate the house" by sending some RISE and the "house" will enable the circuit that powers the full oven. Doing so will enable economizers to factor in electricity costs along with food costs to decide on appropriate budget meals. And so on. If you guys can gather enough capital to build or buy/modify an "experimental house", and highlight the economies possible, you could have a real-world winner. And even if you don't, you could rent a "faller-downer" type of house that could serve as a platform for a new-model Smart House. Although my concept was to do more standardised builds... green building and ecological housing using modern techniques is certainly an area I'd be willing to explore. Integrating the kind of concepts you are mentioning above would be... cutting edge to say the least, finding how to impletment blockchain tech so it doesn't encumber peoples lifestyles but benefits them is the key. I would be more inclined to keep the initial concept of Acre intact for now, because it's tried and tested. However, if we get enough funds to do something really interesting, I have a house that I'm nearing end of construction that I'd be willing to keep for a certain ammount of time just to experiment with IoT type projects linked into blockchain based RISE. Because... that's what we do! |

Sorry to hear about your decision icocountdown. The issues you described about affiliate referrals not showing will be fixed today. Greg designing some graphics for Zeta before or anyone else, is that really an issue? As for myself...My history with Cloakcoin is well documented. I was the founder of Cloakcoin. For a few months it was one of the most successful and popular coins of 2014, I think we even had more hashing power than litecoin for a brief while during PoW. The developer on my team made some real innovations... in wallet trading, anon system via exchanges and invention of proof of stake anonymity that I aptly named PoSA. We made versions 1 and 2 before getting hit like a brick wall...things went wrong in audit... my developer gave up on the project and left once he couldn't find the solution to a single point of failure in his anonymous transaction system. The knock on effect was devastating to me and the community. Was that my fault as a non coder? Was I really responsible? He told me that everything he was doing was going to work and I believed him and passed that on because he'd shown so much skill and talent. On my end I did absolutely everything I could for that coin, worked on it for 18 hours a day most days... but eventually when a developer leaves, a non coder like me cannot keep going very long without finding a replacement. So I did, I handed the code over to a guy that I believed would continue our work and do the best for the community. You know what... Cloak is not dead and they recently released version 3 of the PoSA anon system that we'd started almost 2 years before. So to be clear, I'm not a coder and never claimed to be... the area of work that went wrong in cloakcoin was down to the coding and only the coding. There were never any complaints about my marketing, branding, community involvement and vision for the coin. Anybody that is thinking of or is already invested in Rise can rest assured I'll do everything I can to contribute positively to this project, this time, not as a founder but as a project manager. There are good days ahead for everyone in Rise and myself and the rest of the team are here to keep on top of things and do our absolute best for everyone. I certainly do not want a repeat experience of cloak and that's why I accepted this position here... we are all public and have a good and solid team and we're all here to stay! |

TO ALL - Tracking UpdateI just pushed a profile update to fix the valuation issues. I also updated the home page to add the valuations there. I am working on having Coinbase push transaction details to your profile, instead of trying to pull them all at once. The pull was causing a timeout on the server and causing a crash. The push will be much less resource intensive, and also has the bonus side effect of increasing the speed at which you will see your transactions.
