101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spam attacks cost money, how much money do these people have? on: August 26, 2017, 02:02:37 PM
Another spam attack? What's the source and proof regarding the attack?
102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The SegWit activation was a joke? on: August 26, 2017, 12:07:31 PM
I don't see how what's happening can be surprising, it will take time before it's easy to start using SegWit to its fullest and it will take time for people to start actually using it. Like they say, Rome wasn't built in a day. And there's still that part of the community who are probably active users and will still refuse to use SegWit...
103  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Gunbot Poloniex License on: August 23, 2017, 12:54:02 PM
Why are you selling it ?

Simply because I don't want to use Poloniex anymore.
104  Economy / Digital goods / [WTS] Gunbot Poloniex License on: August 23, 2017, 12:07:32 PM
Selling my Gunbot Poloniex License for 0.08 BTC, OBO. You can post or PM your offers.

We can deal through escrow or directly, whatever you prefer. If you choose escrow, I'm fine with one of the big 3. Buyer pays the fees, if any.

As soon as the deal is completed I'll be PM'ing Gunthar to transfer the license to you ASAP.
105  Economy / Services / Re: The best signature campaign for full member! No casino please! on: August 22, 2017, 11:27:25 PM
You can check that here
106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What does this mean on blockchain.info on: August 22, 2017, 10:37:24 PM
The second amount is the one that went to your change address. Regarding your transaction, your can use one of those transaction "speed up" services that have been popping up or ask a pool to include it in its next block.
107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lighting Network and Segwit 2x newbie questions? on: August 22, 2017, 10:26:54 PM
When do you guys think Lightning Network will activate on BTC or there's no guarantee it wont happen?

Nobody knows and there's no guarantee it will happen

Does Lightning Network solves BTC scalability issues for BTC life or is it just of 1 of many upgrades that will come in the future.

It doesn't solve any scalability issue with Bitcoin, as it is an off chain solution.

If Bitcoin becomes mainstream like visa/mastercard and that point each bitcoin is worth $million each then whats the best scalability for bitcoin that can handle the demand at that time and still be decentralised?

I don't think anyone can answer this so far.

Will Segwit 2x be the same like bitcoin cash hard fork on Aug 1st, that is it will be a hard fork like bitcoin cash and will we get a free airdrop for segwit 2x like we did with bitcoin cash?

No, SegWit2x is a scalability proposal to Bitcoin. It's supposed to integrate with Bitcoin and not fork to an altcoin at a certain date. But answering your question more directly, yeah, things can fork and get ugly if some decide for 2x and others don't. Let's hope this doesn't happen.
108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to help blind people using and dealing with Bitcoin ? on: August 21, 2017, 07:30:33 PM
Just like ATM's and similar have Braille support, any modern smartphone or computer has some kind of support for blind people. Apple devices are an example of blind-friendly devices with many assists (mainly through a voice reading aloud what's on the screen) and even compatible hardware to help people with issues. I think a mobile wallet on iOS is perfectly useable as is right now for blind people. The rest is as said, support will come with time and if there's a demand for it.
109  Economy / Services / Re: 10$ in bitcoin for help - 500 blocks problem when syncing some wallets of alts on: August 20, 2017, 06:57:04 PM
Maybe an anti virus program not allowing certain wallets sync past that? Very strange. Somehow no more writing permissions beyond 500 blocks? Try syncing to another folder somewhere else.
110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Trying to recover a wallet.dat file from 2011! on: August 20, 2017, 06:13:22 PM
First make a copy (or several) of that file and leave that copy untouched. With that done I'd try to run it in a modern client with the salvagewallet command. If I remember correctly, at some point in time the wallet.dat file structure changed quite a bit, so it probably won't work. If not, I'd just dump the private keys via the old client and import them on a newer one. pywallet will also work, but it's probably overkill for what you're aiming for. For extra security, export the keys in a secure offline environment.
111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Antpool just mined a BCH block on: August 20, 2017, 06:05:01 PM
Bitcoin also went up in price, so there's that... many factors contributing to profitability, from difficulty and hashrate to exchange rate. I guess one can run calculations himself to check on what's happening Cheesy
112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I NEVER discard private keys even after spent? on: August 20, 2017, 05:54:06 PM
Yes, always keep private keys, even if empty.

The person who originally sent the broken transactions deleted his wallet
Sigh... why delete a wallet instead of moving it aside and keeping the old copy just in case?  You should never delete a wallet.

The man said it himself Cheesy
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is "Bitcoin Cash" in a position to become better than BTC? on: August 20, 2017, 05:46:48 PM
Bitcoin Cash has (apparently) solved Bitcoin's most immediate problem, as is now more profitable to mine. However Bitcoin is still Bitcoin and most economic incentive is still on Bitcoin... With that being said, we can draw our own conclusions, but I think it's still soon to say if Bitcoin Cash will have any kind of support in the future. Completely dependent on what's going to happen with Bitcoin in near future.
114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: November fork, name for next BTC on: August 20, 2017, 12:00:53 AM
Bitcoin. Sounds good to me.
115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NY Government Employee Fined for Mining Bitcoin at Work on: August 13, 2017, 10:10:58 PM
So he was fined for stealing electricity from work... Nothing to see here. He was just happening to use that electricity to mine for Bitcoins... Its these kinds of headlines that get mainstream media attention.
116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you have a block from before the halfing it's worth $100,000 right now. on: August 13, 2017, 07:57:25 PM
"Let that sink in" would be suitable for this, I guess? Cheesy
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to sweep litecoin paper wallet? on: August 13, 2017, 07:03:15 PM
Just import on Litecoin Core or Electrum and then send wherever. BTW, this is the Bitcoin Discussion section...
118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: **Download the blockchain here, updated regularly ** on: August 09, 2017, 10:25:45 PM
Okay, so people keep saying its "better" to download through the wallet program than to download a bootstrap.

Been syncing for under an hour, wallet claims it will take 7 weeks to fully sync from a clean install.

How is that faster than under a day that would be required to download a 50-100gb bootstrap?

Some claim re-indexing is not required with the newer clients as well so that would suggest to eliminate that.

Even with those things being the case, why is the download so slow?!

With the bootstrap you still have to validate the data. It's not just "the people" who say it's faster just syncing normally, it's the devs and the changelogs...
119  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitfinex - price manipulation, fake transactions on: August 09, 2017, 12:31:14 AM
People trading on this and some other platforms know what they're getting into when they get there. I didn't see any solid evidence that Bitfinex is actively participating in their own markets. However, exchanges are mostly unregulated. If you want to trade on regulated places only, that's fine, and there are places for that.
120  Economy / Gambling / Re: ApopheniaBTC - Bet and solve the challenges to win BTC. on: August 08, 2017, 04:34:40 PM
Hi all! I'm still around but I haven't found time to reopen Apophenia. I still do some work on Biticker and Bittit.info and I still want to start a new version of Apophenia (sort of a rewrite) but I need to sort out some legal stuff first.

(which btw is why i'm keeping the domain around but I let the certificate expire  Wink )

Thanks for the update! Smiley
