1061  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How accept bitcoin payments without bitpay, coinify, etc? on: June 07, 2016, 04:19:54 PM
You can have Electrum accept Bitcoin payments on your website. Give a look on their documentation, they've got it all there.
1062  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Struggles in earning bitcoins on: June 07, 2016, 04:12:45 PM
The biggest struggle is getting jobs paid in Bitcoin... That aren't all that many and those that exist aren't really for my set of skills.
1063  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Anonymous Enough For You? on: June 07, 2016, 01:48:28 PM
Yes, the pseudo-anonymous nature of Bitcoin is enough for me. It is the perfect equilibrium between having enough privacy in my personal spending and having a transparent address where it can be seen how much and when did I receive funds.
1064  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Continues To Roar, Price Reaches Close To $600 on: June 07, 2016, 01:45:18 PM
Someone is playing with the halving... Smiley
1065  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much money has Mike Hearn lost since he sold all his Bitcoin on: June 06, 2016, 09:29:44 PM
He bought low and sold high. He won quite big, in termos of profit and in terms of curriculum when he passed through the Bitcoin community. Beyond that... Selling was his option, so he has to live with that now.
1066  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gaming Giant Steam Disables Bitcoin in Russia on: June 06, 2016, 09:27:35 PM
Steam will disable BTC everywhere in less than a year Smiley

Why would accept BTC while they made BILLIONS of USD with by accepting debit cards? Smiley

Why disable BTC when they make BILLIONS of USD by accepting debit cards + MILLIONS of USD accepting Bitcoin? What you said is basically saying "let's disable something that allows us to profit even further and that makes it easier on people who are returning costumers".
1067  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi is back - and he likes art! on: June 01, 2016, 09:59:00 PM
From thinking that this Bitcoin stuff is no fun at all after falling upon him, refusing to be associated with anything Bitcoin related to being some kind of "meme" within the community and enjoying such status? Wow, some things do take a wild turn...

Can't blame him for "cashing in" on easy, legit money, I guess.
1068  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Phishing attempts today (Kraken re: Gox Claim w/ exe attach) on B-Talk emails on: June 01, 2016, 09:50:47 PM
Did not receive anything... For once spammers seem to have forgotten me, finally Cheesy
1069  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: transaction speed of Bitcoin as users increase on: May 31, 2016, 04:50:33 PM
I am sure this must have been asked many times but please help me understand. what will happen if one billion people were to use Bitcoin as their currency of choice, will the infrastructure be able to handle the traffic and will the transaction speed become extremely slow?

As answered, the infrastructure isn't ready, but there are plans to make it able to handle high transaction volumes. As for transaction speeds they won't change: they've always been instant and will always be instant. Confirmation time is another topic and that's the one you're referring to.
1070  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Is Soaring On Unprecedented Burst In Chinese Buying on: May 29, 2016, 12:26:29 AM
Is there some kind of new "investment" scheme in China that is driving up demand? In the past there was this MMM craze.

MMM didn't move the price this much, highly doubt it was something similar. I sure do hope it isn't something similar, weather all this buying has been from China or elsewhere Roll Eyes
1071  Other / Meta / Re: 3 minor, mostly newbie related/affected bugs on: May 29, 2016, 12:02:32 AM
All of them probably aren't bugs, but features. Even if they're bugs they're not going to be fixed on this forum Smiley
1072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the price of bitcoin important? on: May 28, 2016, 11:59:56 PM
OP has pretty much said everything, but you can find something useful in being constantly paying attention to price... Accumulate more coins Cheesy
1073  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hacker Donates $11k of Stolen Bitcoin to Kurdish Fighters Battling ISIS on: May 27, 2016, 10:11:23 PM
Then people wonder why Bitcoin has such bad reviews from mainstream media Roll Eyes This is two in one: stealing and funding war. We already have enough of that courtesy of our governments. This is what we're trying to fight with Bitcoin. Unfortunate to see people having an opportunity to do things differently and yet they still do the same terrible things that are done with fiat.
1074  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Here is our latest post :- Top Three Bitcoin Wallets Of 2016 on: May 27, 2016, 10:03:41 PM
Why is Armory so low on the chart? Also, I don't think that hardware wallets should be mixed with software wallets... Sad to see Electrum so low too.
1075  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: KNC Miner Declares Bankruptcy – Chinese Competition Too Tough on: May 27, 2016, 09:54:29 PM
This was to be expected... After they started to delay miner deliveries and fooling clients they were bound to be bankrupt or even to become the next BFL. I guess they gave a step too big for their legs and thought they could outrun everyone. That's what you get...
1076  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: For any crypto-coins to have long term future, you need an ecosystem around it on: May 26, 2016, 04:52:38 PM
If we were to bring the same rational to the realm of cryptocurrencies, it is not likely any of the new coins (including Ether) is going to be successful in the near future unless there is an ecosystem around them. Building an ecosystem is unlike constructing a new building. It requires a vision and fulfillment of a need. So, if Bitcoin as a cryptocurrency is able to fulfill this need, where will other coins stand?

They really don't. Altcoins stand on the technical side. They all share the same common basis (Bitcoin) and try to improve over technical aspects, protocol, aspects, etc. These coins aren't really after the ecosystem and commercial side of things. Their purpose is to give ideas for Bitcoin development and to try to compete with it at the technical level.

It's a bit rare to see a website accepting some altcoin and not Bitcoin. Exceptions are websites who are closely related to the altcoin in question or even ran by someone deeply involved with it, or by the developers.
1077  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [ANN] breadwallet, first bitcoin network client for iOS, first BIP32 SPV client on: May 22, 2016, 08:42:52 PM
And finally, a nice wallet with a Watch app! Thanks you! Smiley The app is pretty interesting, seems to be well made just like the iOS one. I've seen an "early access" option on the update changelog, but I can't seem to see how to activate it...
1078  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit is cancelled ? on: May 21, 2016, 08:10:25 PM
Just check the Bitcoin Core roadmap which still includes SegWit... So no, it isn't cancelled.
1079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SWIFT hacked...again. What does it mean for Bitcoin? on: May 21, 2016, 08:00:39 PM
No issue for the banks, as this was only done on the IT side of things and they can simply reverse the transaction order... But this is definitely a nice thing for Bitcoin. Laws of math protect us, banks are on their own... Smiley
1080  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Obviously a scam attempt or hack on: May 20, 2016, 11:12:35 PM
