101  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which device do you prefer for gambling ? on: May 02, 2024, 05:43:06 PM
Desktop and laptop are both computers. No need of differentiating them into category. Refer to them as PC.

I do not have a tablet. I wish to have one but I did not have because I have laptop and phone which are enough. But gambling will be very good on tablets just like PC.

I gamble more on phone because my phone is always with me than my laptop. But laptop is better. Phones are excellent also actually.
102  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for May on: May 02, 2024, 02:16:35 PM
If you check the previous candlestick pattern on your same chart shows that Bitcoin will took multiple red candle before it will continue again the uptrend movement once the price find a strong support for the month.

I’m speculating that the price will be sideways from 49K to 60K for this month.
If you speculate that bitcoin will be between $49000 and $60000. That is not multiple red candles. Or is that not a month range candle sticks? Bitcoin fall to almost $57000 yesterday.  To get to $49000 is not a multiple red candles because falling from $73800 to $56600 is much more significant in a month candle than to fall from $56600 to $49000.

As for me I do not think bitcoin will fall up to $49000 even if it falls below $50000. That would be a strong support between those prices.
103  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: In order to reach your target, don't rush! on: May 02, 2024, 11:19:07 AM
Rushing is one of the reasons people lose in trading. They want to rush in money making.

Let us say you have $2500. Why trading all if that is all your money. Using $500 or less is enough.

Do not use more than 1x leverage

If you will use averaging, it is better. You can start the position at 0.2x and end it with 1.5x for altcoins or 2.5x for bitcoin.

Analyses and indicators are necessary

Money management is necessary
104  Other / Meta / Re: Why is this topic moved from gambling discussion? on: May 02, 2024, 11:08:31 AM
Most of topics on Security will be moved to Off-topic board. You have to accept that regulation and a probable highest destination of your thread, Off-topic.

Exception is if forum admins create a new sub board for topics on Security.

Discussion: "Cybersecurity and Privacy" board + Poll (request v1)
Community Vote: Add "Cybersecurity & Privacy" board to Bitcointalk.
You are right but that thread is specific to gamblers and not only cyber security. But it is majorly about cyber security. I see no reason why moderator moved it to off-topic. It neither belongs to off-topic where gamblers will not see it.
105  Other / Meta / Why is this topic moved from gambling discussion? on: May 02, 2024, 11:01:06 AM
It was moved to off-topic.

There are dangers from streaming matches from unofficial sites

Is this not what gamblers can discuss to help them against malware, scam and other online attacks?

I think it is better in gambling discussion than to trash it to off-topic board.
106  Other / Off-topic / Re: There are dangers from streaming matches from unofficial sites on: May 02, 2024, 10:48:12 AM
Wow. I didn't know about that. Do you think all of them free VPN services are like that?
Among the free VPN that I know of, the only one that I have tried that does not display ads and which I think do not share customers information is Proton VPN. It is a paid VPN but which has free version that can be used but with limited locations. They generate money from those that subscribed to the VPN services and not displaying ads for those that make use of the VPN freely.

Paid VPNs generate money from users subscriptions and not ads and selling of customers information.

Tor is the best for privacy but can not be used to access some sites. It is free and I use it to access any site I can use to access but use VPN for the sites I can not use Tor to access.
107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Buy a Bonus VS playing Slot on normal Spin - which do you prefer? on: May 02, 2024, 09:36:07 AM
Buy bonus is a faster way you can win higher or lose faster. It makes the wining and the losses to be very fast. I have tried it before like three times but I lost money very fast. I decided not to use it anymore. But if buy bonus gives you a win, it can be up to $100 or more. Someone that I know used it to win over $200 with $60. What I prefer more are free spin which has made me won over $200 before with just $20 but I rarely see free spin. The winning was very fast but I think I was just very lucky that day.
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: 1xbit violated self exclusion terms, do not want to help on: May 02, 2024, 09:29:51 AM
1xbit is not a reputed site on this forum and we are all the time telling people to avoid the site as much as possible as they can.
109  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: TRADERS are not UNEMPLOYED on: May 02, 2024, 09:01:35 AM
While this is correct consider as a Job yet remember that a Job must be providing or generating
income and so if that trader is making money from the platform he is trading then indeed this is a job
but if not? then I believe that this cannot be considered as employment because you are not getting
paid from your job.
I am happy to finally see people posting good about this. You are also right. But did you know that 80% of traders are losing? I have read more than 10 researches that make me make that conclusion. The results in those researches are similar. That most traders are losing. The result of trading is much more like the results of the researches on gambling.
110  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: TRADERS are not UNEMPLOYED on: May 02, 2024, 08:55:40 AM
That will depend on how we look into it. If ever I consider this as a job, it means that I make money from this.
You really understand what that I am talking about. Trading should not be considered a job until you traded many times for over a long period of time that you can consider it as job. But we should not mislead new traders and saying trading is a job. It is too risky to be called a job.

Some people said trading is a job on this forum, forgetting that some people are newbies. If you can find out very well about them, you will know that they are not trading in real life. Those that have much knowledge about trading on this trading discussion board, I know them and they said it should also not be taking as a job because they how trading is in real life and not just read an article and conclude that trading is a job.
111  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Some topics to look for when starting trading on: May 02, 2024, 05:15:59 AM
These are my main three topics, and I have a lot more but it's all minors and I bet most of you guys know about it, like support and resistance, candle stick patterns, etc.
They are also very important and not minor. One of the most important in trading in trading is risk management and lowering your trading risks. Some traders keep failing because they do not manage their trading funds appropriately and also because they are using to much leverage and going for other too risky trades. Another important thing are indicators, technical and fundamental analysis which soke traders neglect and not studied very well.
112  Other / Off-topic / Re: There are dangers from streaming matches from unofficial sites on: May 01, 2024, 10:51:48 PM
The sites that host these services are loaded with malicious links, back doors and tricks to access people’s digital and financial information, giving professional criminals an open invitation to steal from anyone who engages in these activities.
It is loaded with ads. Also your information is not safe as the streamers are selling your information to third party. Not only this, it is just like those free VPN and other free services loaded with ads and sharing people's information with third parties for money. I try as much as possible to stay away from ads and other things like this. Ads can contain malware or link you to a site that contains malware.
113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury Vs Oleksandr Usyk (18 May) discussion and prediction topic on: May 01, 2024, 10:43:48 PM
If someone between them won, I guess it would be Usyk. But this type of match is difficult to know who can possibly win. Fury is good while Usyk is also good. They are both undefeated and fighting like a beast, especially Fury. But I will for go Usyk. It will be a good match to watch.
114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can You Submit KYC Before You Win Big on: May 01, 2024, 05:12:38 PM
I use small amount of money to gamble. My country legalize gambling. Why should I not submit KYC? There is nothing that I need to hide. I make sure that I submit KYC before I start to gamble on those casinos that requires KYC because I will prefer not to have issue with them when I win and want to withdraw
115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The first online cryptocurrency Casinos, when/who? on: May 01, 2024, 04:03:20 PM
The casino founded in 2012 called SatoshiDice was what I saw to be the first bitcoin casino when I make research about it.

SatoshiDice: SatoshiDice was launched in April 2012 and is considered to be the first operational Bitcoin casino, founded by Erik Voorhees.

If you want to know more about the history of the first bitcoin casinos, you can read what is on this link https://www.cryptolists.com/learn/bitcoin-casino-history/#:~:text=SatoshiDice%3A%20SatoshiDice%20was%20launched%20in,casino%2C%20founded%20by%20Erik%20Voorhees.
116  Economy / Gambling / Re: BC.Game asking for KYC before letting me Withdraw on: May 01, 2024, 03:56:38 PM
Been playing at BC.Game for over 5 years. Lost THOUSANDS. Have been a VIP, I go on a little run and try to withdraw some money, and they ask for KYC verification. Their website doesnt even let me do it. Wondering if I just got scammed for 10k?? Anyone have any experience with this. Help is appreciated!
Do you not know that anything centralized will ask for KYC at anytime from their customers? That is what Bc.game did and you can see it in their terms of service. If you want a casino or gambling site that do not requires KYC, that means you will need to try any of those Web3 casinos or land based casinos or betting agents. As for me, I prefer the centralized ones because I have been using them many years ago and they are good but KYC can be an issue.
117  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: TRADERS are not UNEMPLOYED on: May 01, 2024, 02:06:19 PM
What's the op is saying is about employability, he wasn't talking about profitability. It is true that many traders losses more than the gain. But then anyone who is into cryptocurrency trading for more than one year must have found a way to gain because you cannot be losing and losing and you continue losing.
Some people will think they can make it from trading, but they will see the worst part of their life when they begin trading. More than 80% of traders are losing and which should be one of the reasons it can not be seen as a job. Trading is not a job. But if you manage to have enough money to trade, risk less and be able to even go less than 1x leverage and able to afford your loss and having better source of income with your less risky source of income will not make you feel the bad effect, then trading can be a job for you. But telling people that trading is a job is not right because you are only not helping them with wrong information but also helping them to believe what can cause them financial problem.

Many people on this forum are not trading, they just understand little part of it and saying it is a job. It is not a job.

Some people make more money teaching how to trade than trading itself, some people write journals on how to trade and some people provide signals. In whichever way you are able to end in the name of trading, it is fine I should be recorded for you as a genuinely and money. Therefore someone who is a trader could be considered employed by himself if he is doing it professionally. Yet, it is advice that a trader should have another source of income to augment in terms of emergency and uncertainty because trading is a risky business.
If you are teaching about trading, providing signals and writing journals about it, you are not trading. You are only letting people know what trading is and earn money from them and nothing more than that. Trading is when you trade and make money from it. Some peoole can teach and provide signals but yet be losing in trading.
118  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Hong Kong Bitcoin ETF Responsible for Recent Bear on: May 01, 2024, 07:57:42 AM
Hong Kong bitcoin ETF approval is not the reason for the bear market. I can remember United States said Israel fired some missiles to Iran and the market went below $60000 again at the time like two or more weeks ago. Not quite after that Hong Kong approved bitcoin ETF. The price of bitcoin moved back above $60000 and got to almost $67000 before this bear market started. I think the bear market is just how the market wants to be normally.
119  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase implemented Lightning Network on: April 30, 2024, 03:16:56 PM
This is a good news. I have three wallets already that are supporting lightning network. They are Binance, OKX and BitMart. Let us expect more exchanges to have it.

Coinbase would have been my first exchange, but people from my country were restricted to have an account on the exchange. I do not know of now.
120  Other / Off-topic / Re: Be cautious of Account Hacked on social medias on: April 30, 2024, 07:06:01 AM
This is general security advice that applies to everyone online:

Use 2 factor authentication

Don't use the same password everywhere

Update the software on your computer

Be careful with how much info you post online

Be careful when sharing personal info

Do not use a public wifi

Use Linux.

Use a VPN

Use SSH keys instead of passwords when possible.

 Avoid password managers.

Use Tor
Security and privacy are different.

VPN is centralized while Tor that is better is for privacy and not security. They are both not for security.

You can use Windows and macOS and have security if you have the experience and avoid malware and device hack.

What is SSH key? I use password for Twitter and 2FA app which is very secure.

I have password manager but it is offline. It is online password managers that people should avoid.

Yes it is true to avoid public wifi.
